We can all agree that Zac is a great bass player, right? I just saw Tycho live in Charlottesville, VA and I understand Scott is a masterful artist/musician, but we gotta give props to zac also. They came out for the finale and I was like " Zac! You the man!" And he came over and fistbummbed, had a huge smile on.
This interview always means so much to me. Same thoughts, same concept, creating music for such a scenic view, and perspective. Tycho is a huge inspiration to me.
i didn't even realize "codeine tears in her fanta" was a tycho sample until i heard "a walk" in the intro of this video and immediately recognized it. love it when some musicians i regularly listen to borrow from each other. music is a beautiful thing.
I listen to Tycho so much when I'm working, or running, or just chillin'. I'm seeing him live tonight. I just love the analog-ness. Feels like he's bringing trance full-circle. And he reminds me of NIN, the way Trent would do all the instruments himself then go tour with 3 drummers and maybe a guitarist.
I LOVE (LOVE!!!!) this guy and his music, and he's very thoughtful and intelligent, just like his music. I've read many interviews with him and they're all great. His music live is a different experience than recorded, but he somehow has found a way to make both absolutely perfect. Seeing him in Boulder was the best musical experience of my life. I can't wait for the next album. Sounds great already.
I don't blame the guy, when you put out an album as great as Dive is, you can tour on it for quite a while and enjoy the benefits of all your hard work before having to go back and make another album.
I've been playing guitar for about 2 years now, really into math rock and all that. I haven't found any other musicians and I plan to make stuff like this as a solo project, but what kind of equipment do I need to play/make this kinda stuff? Thanks
This guy is revolutionary, perfecting stuff that was established by Boards and giving it his own spin. Musical genius.
look into wagon christ/luke vibert
start with the tommorow album and then sorry i make you lush
The comparison to Boards of Canada is off. Tycho is much more aligned musically with Ulrich Schnauss.
Dive- masterpiece for real. Every song strong and cohesive album.
I agree 100%
Who would have thought that the most beautiful music ever made was inspired by the landscapes of sacramento.
Tycho,Com Truise,Washed Out the top three in chill wave today
I had no idea the man behind Tycho, and their music I love, also designs their artwork AND is so damn handsome. 😮❤

I can always tell how good a band really is by the quality of these comments, or lack thereof.

It's "Elegy" in a very raw soundcheck rendition.

I feel like Scott’s been trying to re-create those nostalgic feelings that he got from boards of Canada
So good. Good job BBs!
Thanks....:)
(I've been playing that particular track non-stop).
For some reason this is the first time I've heard Scott speak.
I understand it may just be really good video editing here, but this guy is very articulate.
Specially perfect Trance for TOYOTA'S Old 1980-1990 Diesel ⛽ Cars
I really want one of those Ursa Major Space Stations... I'll just have to keep my eye out. I think the reissues sell at around $1,400.
Shhh emma...Just listen and float away on a stream of pure parousia

Cool . Sounds a bit like boards of Canada
So it's pronounced "TIE-CO" not "TIE-CHO"? Hm, bummer, I prefer the latter, but doesn't change one thing on how much I love this music.
