I enjoyed your organization video. My favorite item that I’ve used forever is the clothing rack on wheels. It is great for planning what outfits you want to take on trips. Also, I use it to hang wet clothes that don’t go in the dryer. You are such a delight to watch, so elegant, and always share such interesting tips re makeup, clothes, home improvement ideas. You want us to be our best selves. Thank you. Sandra
Marianne you look glowing today. I can relate. Nothing is more empowering than things in order. 😁. I owe thanks to Marie Kondo for the way I order my dresser. I use the boxes and insert things vertically, like a file drawer so can see everything. Love it. I like to keep my cashmere in a drawer with lavender because of moths rather than open shelves. Thanks for everything.
I’m impressed with the outstandingly good pressing of your garments, especially the satin blouses! How do you get them so beautifully ironed, or do you steam them? Marie-Anne videos on care of your wardrobe would be extremely appreciated! You have a lovely wardrobe.
I use the expandable bamboo drawer dividers in my sock drawer - it's wonderful being able to find the socks I want without digging through a messy drawer!
An organized closet is so soothing! Great video! Can also use garment racks for extra coat racks if,once Covid under control, you are having a larger gathering at home during cooler months.
Marie Anne this is a brilliant idea thank you I’m going to buy some of those sock and bra organisers. I’m forever rearranging my drawers and wardrobes. I have a rack and I iron all my clothes for the week and take from there daily 👍
I always think I know a lot , but You always bring me on “ some new brilliant Ideas “, Marie-Anne 🤗👌🏼👏🏼. P.S. You were looking very smart in this video 👍🏼- fresh and bright. Very pretty . Enjoy your day 🌞🌞🌞🌷
You always have such a lovely soft look! I love these ideas for my closet. It's a work in progress, which hopefully will be done within a month. Thank you for all your wonderful tips! I really like these garment bags. And such adorable little puppies you have!!!
This is a very timely video for me. I have been working on my closet and I use the rack for my clothes for the week. It really saves time in the morning. I still have a few more things to do. Thanks for the inspiration 💗
Coco and Peanut love your wardrobe accessories! 😍 I use garment racks to hang clothes I used once or twice before washing them as I prefer not to hang fresh and worn clothes together. Thank you for your nice tips!
Classy as always! I was wondering: As a woman, what do *you* find alluring about the classic satin blouse and pencil skirt look? As a man I've always found it especially feminine. Would love to see you do a video with a focus on that classic professional look...if you haven't already!
AF, as a women, I love the satin blouse and pencil skirt look. It looks and feels feminine. Satin blouse feels very smooth and soft on the skin. Pencil skirt shows off the feminine shape . However I do think it requires the body to be in good proportion to make it work as pencil skirt shows everything from waist down.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I'll have to peruse more of your videos. I enjoyed hearing your perspective. Being a man I obviously can't have that same experience....which of course makes it all the more exotic and fascinating to me. As the French say, vive le difference!
@@littlelady7843 I see what you mean by proportion...but I feel that a bit of 'imperfection' there can look especially womanly. Something about the mix of elegant curve *and* vulnerability, know what I mean? Uniquely attractive and feminine combination of traits.
@@AF-tv6uf Thanks. A F . It is interesting women are always very hard on ourselves. All we look at in the mirror is the things we don't like about ourselves and try to fix. My husband told me over and over that I look good. All I thought was he was just being nice to me.
An excellent video! Marie Anne , you look extra beautiful with the silky top and scarf. I love those little drawer organizers! They are perfect or organizing socks as I have so many of them. I also love the rolling rack idea. I have been thinking of get one as I started weekly outfits planning and I had to lay them out on the bed. A rack with roller will be perfect for that. Also it will be very handy to use for steaming clothes as you can move them to the room you want, and adjust the height to be perfect.
Fabulous suggestions. I was surprised to see Target. I also shop there for home goods and I have quite the clear plastic box with lid collection. They are easier to stack and keep the scented mothballs lasting longer. Your suggestions are really great finds and I prefer Target over the Container Store. I never realized your shelving was on wheels-that gave me a great idea for future use. Thank you. Your fur babies were very cute in the spot appearance.
I also changed my hangers to match ( mostly) . I also have organised my closet in colour segments so all white shirts together ....all blue together etc. I find it easier to put outfits together that way. I very much like those compartment boxes...very useful. Thank you and God bless Marie-Anne. Gilly x
Those drawer organizer boxes are the best, especially for lingerie: no more tangled bras in piles. I use the sock-sized one for underwear neatly folded and rolled up and another size for slips and camisoles. I can always find what I need without emptying out my dresser. Those garment or suit bags are great for storing off-season items and formal dresses. Our climate is so changeable: from parkas and heavy sweaters to summer dresses and sandals [and back again] that it is necessary to "rotate" and store seasonal wardrobes for space. These tips are very helpful as we learn from you to be more selective in our purchases and to choose quality over quantity. Quality items will certainly last longer if we look after them well, and keeping them well-organized means that we will wear them more often. No more forgetting that you had bought something because it is lost in your closet or dresser!
I love organizing my closet/bureau, and have a few of the items you mentioned. My velvet hangers are teal colored, and have a place to hang a belt or scarf, but I like to keep all my belts and scarves together.
One thing that would of been fun wouldn’t been doing a video of you setting up your new closet space. I know it’s too late now to do. That would of been fun to see. Great tips as usual.
All great ideas, some of which I already do. One caveat: if using one those multiple-garment hangers or storage boxes that hang from the closet rod, be very sure that the rod and its fixtures into the wall will carry the weight.
i have furniture with wheels in my room so i can move and clean but most of all create fashion spaces in my room according to the seasons of the year i enjoy this very much
Excellent ideas. Some I use and others I am going to explore. It makes me very happy that you and your husband have bought this home. You and your husband have the taste and patience to return it to or create an elegance that will last for centuries.
Hubby and I are now purging our closets as the LUPUS foundation comes to our front door. One gal pal used the clothing rack to organize her weekly work clothing for the office.
Wonderful suggestions Marie- Anne! I use drawer organizers from Ikea to hold socks & hosiery. Inexpensive and functional! I store purses & scarves & misc items in cloth bins found at Target/Walmart. Lastly, I'm fortunate that my dressers have built in separators for intimate/personal items ☺️ Thank you for another great video!🥰 Btw. I use garmet bags to store Christmas wrapping paper, bows, etc. And it stores nicely under my bed.
Wonderful storage tips! I do use clear boxes for my shoes and handbags, but the large storage bags are a terrific idea. I must admit that I just roll up my underpants and throw them into a drawer, but I do like the adjustable boxes that you demonstrated, Thanks for a helpful video !
I like to have all my clothes on dark gray velvet hangers. No other colors allowed! 😂 I also had a love affair with The Container Store recently and bought hangers for multiple skirts and pants on one hanger because my closet its sadly toooooo small and must allow the husband space for a couple of his things! I also Marie Kondo'd my armoire so that all my sweaters are behaving in pull out drawers instead of stacked and ready to fall on my head. Because we live in the San Francisco Bay Area I find there are never any seasons to put things away. I might need my shorts in February and I will always need my wool sweaters in July when the fog rolls in from the Bay. Makes closet organization extra difficult!
Has Target invaded France now? We love it here in the US for organizing things like this. Those storage bags are much cuter than my plain ones. I clean all my woolies and put them away around April, cotton sweaters are fine for cool mornings in our blistering summers here in California, and it keeps them nice and bug-free.
Regarding the garment rack - I 100% agree, I have two of them. I love planning outfits a few days in advance, but my three cats make it ill-advised to lay garments / accessories down anywhere. Garment racks solve that problem, and they're really handy for drying and steaming things, too.
I like the idea of using it to figure out what to pack! I use mine to hang up my clothes after they come out of the dryer. I live in a two-story house and the laundry room is downstairs.
By the way, I also love the wallpaper you have. They look like bamboo. My hometown has lots of bamboos. My brother and I used to climb up on the bamboos and slide down... It required some skills, but it was so much fun!
Bonjour Marie-Anne! You are looking lovely with your new hair colour and I love what you’re wearing. I have been meaning to buy a clothing rack just like that. IKEA has one and it’s inexpensive. I’d like to use it in the garage actually (which is attached to the house, just off the laundry. It will be useful for when it rains and I want to hang clothes inside. I do use clothes horses (drying racks you might call them) but some things are better on hangers. It would also be useful for sorting clothes or to use when ironing. There are so many good products for organising. I do use some of the same ones you do. I find Ikea and Muji have the best here, as well as K-Mart. I bought the plastic woven one you showed, from Aldi. Your little chihuahuas are wondering what you’re up to. It’s good to see them again!
I bought some little velvet covered hook things so I can layer my normal hangers a little bit like the clip ones. It saves a lot of room. I also hang some jumpers by folding them over the hanger and sticking the arm through that little bar at the top. Otherwise they tend to get squashed and crumpled.
The cross-bar (scarf/tie bar) on the velvet hangers make them a bit sturdier, too. I like the velvet for most things, sturdy “crystal” plastic for heavier jackets and coats, and clip-type hangers for skirts and trousers. Each category is internally color-matched. I switched from pale pink velvet to black, because I never found the same pink twice, the black is more consistent if I have to change brands. A less-picky friend put the pink ones to good use, so no enviroguilt! My new word I just thought up, I have a lot of that when I look at all the fast-fashion I bought in the last two years, I’m in recovery!
I have so little closet space, it's criminal. I need to purge my limited closet space of some of my older styles and make room for new things. My hanging rods are also low, like yours, so I have to try to put dresses on the top level but they still drag below. Fortunately I have only two. One dress in my mother's Scot tartan and my LBD. OMG, my sock drawer is a nightmare. For some reason I collect far, far too many socks and the sock drawer is just crammed full. I love the idea of those boxes, must get some of those. Thank you!
Rather than a single hanger onto which you put 5 or 6 skirts, I prefer individual hangers that have a small hook so that you can hang one skirt or pair of pants onto a hanger that is just above it. This means that each item is available without struggling to remove the third skirt down from the top be abuse it is underneath two others and attached close together. In addition, if you raise the bar in the closet you can hang six or seven things vertically and they take up no more room than a single skirt or pair of pants. I also arrange items by color or by type of item. For example all my Polartec jackets and sweaters are all together., all dressing gowns, all evening wear - essentially whatever you lifestyle requires. On big thing that has made a difference for me and was suggested I think by Marie Kondo is to roll up soft knits like tee shirts or nightgowns. This way you can see nearly every thing that you have in tee shirts: sleeveless or short sleeved or long sleeved, or by color - and it’s all in view without having to lift up a pile of shirts to find what you want.
Would you believe I do some of these organizational tips already?! HowEVER, now that my wardrobe needs have changed, it’s going to discard/donate/keep very soon! This video was shared at the perfect time! I do have one dilemma, which is taking up more real estate in my closet than it should… a beautiful straw wide-brimmed summer hat (stylish cowboy vibe) I wasn’t well enough to wear it last summer, so I left it in the original plastic bag with the protective foam around the black ribbon. It’s laying completely flat on one of my closet shelves as I don’t want it to lose its shape! Invest in a large hat box? I believed it would be both stylish and good sun protection but we are a long way from Spring/Summer! 🌞 Ideas, Chic Ladies? Marie-Anne?! 💕 Merci in advance!

You look beautiful! One question, I have odds and ends that are difficult to store. Things like handkerchiefs, scarves, and gloves. Or travel things like travel pillows, packing cubes, and converter plugs and chargers. The last challenge is jewelry! I have bought on vacations, been given by my children, or given by friends. I have gotten rid of some, but it is a challenge. I also have too many scarves! How many do you keep and how do you decide when to let it go?
Classic problem. I love the multiple hanger for skirts, i haven´t seen that before. The rack is the best but spacy. I have the classic sock drawer, rolled up in some organized chaos. My pantyhose drawer is always a mess, can´t find a system so they keep on hanging in the bathroom. Do you have any idea madame? Never mind the wallpaper, the message is the important. Love
What do you think would be the best and most fashionable way to store handbags? It's such a problem for me because my handbags generally end up being hidden under the bed, or hanging on a shelf...

Love
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Thanls madame. You´re a trooper and an icon. Love
I bought some wicker baskets to organize my closet, but they became beds for my cats!

What do you think would be the best and most fashionable way to store handbags? It's such a problem for me because my handbags generally end up being hidden under the bed, or hanging on a shelf...
