Hi John, Nice to hear from you. YES! our panels and circuit boards work with BOTH Racing Games as well as Flight simulator programs. Our boards are seen by your computer as a Joystick (HID), so compatibility is assured.
YES! The 2120 can be used with programs other then flight simulators. These additional programs need to accept usb inputs from Joysticks. If so, the 2120 will operate just fine. I just visited Mechwarrior and I must say "It's an Awesome site!". You can use the 2120 with this online game if a keyboard emulator software like "Joy to Key" is used to convert digital button presses into the required keyboard characters.
Hi, No need to choose; Both the 2120 and a joystick (or even a Flight Yoke) will operate together on the same computer without and conflicts. Just plug both into an unused usb port on the computer. If you wish, you can plug more then one 2120 board into the usb port without any problems. Each 2120 board has an unique serial number so your computer can keep track on how each board is program with the needed flight functions.
I am not familiar with DCS, but if the software supports joystick usb inputs, the board will also be compatible. This board was designed to be sensed by a computer as a joystick input, so no 3rd party software is needed.
From comments collected over a few years, flight simmers using IL-2 and the 2120, indicate no problems or conflicts. All DTA boards and panels are sensed by computers as a Joystick, so compatibility with IL-2 and other simulator programs is no problem.
Our 2160 (Single-Shot Pulse Generator) is more suitable for momentary push buttons. The 2120 was designed for use with toggle switches, not push buttons.
The video shows our Model 2120. It was designed for toggle switches. For Push-buttons, may I recommend our Model 2040. It can be seen on our DesktopAviator website. Steve
This board will work with LEDs, but the toggle switch must be a DPDT (Double pole double throw) type. The first set of contacts are to be wired to the switch input on the board. The second set of contacts can be wired with an LED as a simple series circuit; Positive voltage to the Toggle switch; then the LED, 330 ohm resistor; then to ground.
Hi, I'm not familiar with DCS A-10, but if the software uses Joystick inputs, then our boards will work correctly. Once connected to your computer's USB port, the board is sensed as a Joystick and the appropriate driver software is installed; then just program each A-10 flight function into the desired toggle switch.
YES! We do ship to a number of countries via First Class International mail for $10.25usd. But DTA does reserve the right to ship for the more expensive Prority Mail what allows Tracking of the package when shipped.
Seeing that LED require very little current to lite, the +5VDC from the USB port can also be used to power the LEDs. Lighting 20 LED with the 2120 board is no problem for your computer's power supply. But, if you have other devices hooked to the USB Port, you might consider purchase a Powered USB Hub. This way, the voltage needed for the 2120 board and the LED will be supplied by a wall transformer and not the computer's power supply.
@j4cko56 Hi Jack, The 2120 and up to 20 Toggle Switches and a Series "B" USB Cable is all you need to get the board working. The 2120 plugs into any unused USB Port on the computer. The 2120 does accept standard and miniature toggle switches, but if you need a board for Min-Push Button Switches, I recommend our 2040 board. And lastly, we do ship to the UK
dcs does use Joysticks and has the ability to share profiles so one could be created for this and downloaded. Creating a helios profile for your device would make this seamless with the advanced users. Google gadroc helios and you will see one of the communities dcs users have created to share things like this. On the dcs site the forum has a section for users to share things as well including custom missions
At the present time, we are working on a small circuit board that can take a standard Toggle Switch (ON-OFF-ON) and convert it into a switch that can be programmed to give you 3 output pulses that can be programmed as: OFF - Low - High using our 2160 One-Shot Pulse Generator PCB. It will be available soon
Then there should be no problem. Using either the FSX flight functions SETTINGs window or FSUIPC. All you need do is to press the button wired to any of the inputs of the 2120 board and associate it to the desired function. That's it!
Hi Storm, We sure do ship to Australia. We ship via FLAT Rate International and Priority Mail. Just email us a list of items you wish to purchase and we can give you a more precise quote of shipping fees. Just visit our website for email information
immediately start looking into the megajoy project. All the libraries have been written already for both joysticks and keyboard simulators. HINT (DFU MODE) It limits you to 64 switches and 4 axis per atmel but you can master/slave the chips to expand this with near unlimited. Creative coding using resistor values can expand individual chips to potentially hundreds of switches. For my money tho I would rather just use multiple atmega chips on a single board using the master/slave concept.
i have seen all the video, but what about using a joystick and than the 2120 together on flight simulator? i can only choose one of them! how to use both of them?
I am making a board with spring back buttons AND toggle switches... WOUld this board work or no for this job. Also NO rotary switches. Remember, I WILL be using my keyboard as an overhead still so this board needs to be non keystroke emulated just a plain joystick recognized one. Any help would be great.......
Hi, This card, the 2120, can be used only with Toggle Switches. It you need Rotary Encoder support, my I suggest our Model 2090 or 2095A board. For Push Buttons, you would need our Model 2040. You can see all these boards at DesktopAviator.com
Start looking into the Arduino, this is the easiest way to do this and you can control everything!!! As a matter of fact this looks like it uses the same chips!
So, is the 2120 and 20 switches all i need to get this to work, or do i need any other parts? Also, how does the 2120 connect to the computer? do i need another cable? And, do the SPST Toggle Switch, Mini-Push Button Switch and the standard Toggle Switches (SPST) all work with the 2120, or only the Toggle Switches (SPST)? and lastly (sorry for all the questions)! can they be shipped to the UK? Thanks in advance, Jack :)
a signal for each pin uses too much of the resource, One pin can call upon code to read the switch as active/inactive - press/release. This can double your toggles on the on-off but for the on-off-on it would still use 2. Both on positions would default to off on release.
How can I assign a comand key for an especific airplane? Something like a fuel pump in the wilco/feelthere e-jets, cause it can't be changed by the assignement list of fs2004. Can I use FSUIPC or/and the wilco/feelthere configurator? Greetings from Brazil!
can this work with warthunder? i know i know it is not like the real flight sim games but it has many many controls that require special keys that no keyboard can accommodate. so I am looking into building my own flight interface for warthunder and wondering if this one works on it. Please help me if you can.
The video might be old but the information it contains is still correct. The 2120 board does work with FSX, FSX-SE, P3D, X-Plane 10 and the newer X-Plane 11. Price for the 2120 is $38.00 + shipping
Can I solder the wires straight to the board, I'm having issues with the two pin connectors not really connecting very well, I've got a few where this isn't a problem, but a few of them are sort of intermittent, maybe super glue? Other than that this is such a cool product.
You can solder wires directly to the underside of the board but care must be taken not to create any shorts (solder bridges) between connection points. I recommend that you use a 30 watt soldering pencil with a very small point. Solder flux should also be used. It helps to allow the solder to flow easier on the wire.
Where and how are those wires called you toggle to the switches and connect them to that card and from that card you can easily assemble it into the PC, do some configuration and it works.
For easier connection of the toggle switches to the board, we now have available, on our PARTS page 2-pin connectors on a pair of 14 inch wires. The wire end is soldered to the 2 terminals on the spst toggle switch. The 2-pin connector is placed on any of the 20 available inputs. When all 20 switches are connected, set the flight functions using FSUIPC or the available settings on X-Plane
The color of the wires really do not have any effect on the circuit board; but using wires of different color can make it a bit easier if you need to troubleshoot a problem with the setup in the future. But I do recommend using AWG #28 or #30 STRANDED wire. Solid wire can cause problems if you bent them too much it breaks way too easily. STRANDED is the better choice because it can be bent a number of times without causing breakage.
DTA34613 I use cable speaker wire (13 strand) which is cheap at 14 quid for 100m from Tool Station - as there only a negligible current being carried, it works well and is considerably cheaper than other electrical wiring
Hi, Nice to hear from you. I do not have a copy of this flight simulator, so I need to ask you a question; does the software require keyboard inputs to control flight functions? Or are Joysticks supported?
Hi, It is difficult if not impossible to test all of DTA circuit boards and Panels with every flight sim program out there. With that said, I downloaded a copy of ProSim at: ProSim737_beta_manual-08-21-2012.pdf. Page 24 indicates that ProSim accepts Joystick cards thus joystick button inputs. All DTA cards and panels are "seen" by the computer as a Joystick input. So it is safe to say that DTA boards are compatible with ProSim Software. Bobby B.
Ok.. nice BUT!!! what happens lets say you just shut down the simulator and you left the main battery switch (phyical one) in the OFF position and your fs2004 is restarted (normally battery switch is already on in the sim). Will it switch the sim to OFF position? i think not as its using toggle, so when you switch it to the ON position and flight sim is on ON positon already it will then goto OFF position. I need a card that will sence/know which position the switch is already in. OR if i am wrong and it will do it correctly let me know before i buy a bunch of these.
Mark Chance it is recognized as a button push every time you throw the toggle so if you just put every switch in the right position before you start again you'll be fine
Hello. I bought this board and have added a few switches all of which test out in the properties panel. When I program them in FSX they only work by throwing the switch twice. It doesnt recognize on/off as such. The only way to turn them on and off is, as i say, throwing the switch twice. Can you help?
+Michael Browning - Hi Michael. You probably purchased the Model 2160 in stead of the 2120 (board seen in video). The 2160 creates only 1 pulse when the spst toggle switch is flipped. For a spst toggle, you need the 2120 board. To get the 2160 board working, you need to wire a spdt (single pole double throw) toggle, whether flipping the switch up or down, will produce a 1/4 second pulse.
I purchased the 2040 from you, which I now understand only supports the single push switch. I'm completely ignorant when it comes to electronics etc. I guess I will need to purchase the 2120 now. Thanks for your answer.
+Michael Browning - The 2040 board can also be used with SPDT toggle switches. It can be wired just like the 2160 board as I described above. Instead of a pulse coming from the board as the 2160 would create; the 2040 is a constant ON when the input pins are shorted to ground. So using this configuration, the 2040 supports up to 10 single pole double throw switches (two 2040 inputs need to be connected to one toggle switch). Then the switch can be configured to any available flight function using the command: (Example) Landing Lights ON (toggle switch flipped up)- Landing Lights OFF (toggle switch flipped down).
Hi, Although we do not have a MAC to test the compatibility of the 2120, many customers have informed us that all of our circuit boards and panels, including the 2120, were detected with a MAC computer. The 2120 is a HID Joystick device, so there should be no compatibility issues.
To: Mr. T Chandler, AZ, Well, you finally got in touch with us even though is was through a RUclips Posting.
We emailed you a number of time trying to tell you that your order was returned. Written on the box RETURN to SENDER - FWD?
You did not answer our emails, so we refunded the purchase price for the board $50.00, which was the right thing to do under the circumstance
You indicated on the RUclips post, we did not give you an explanation for the refund, why then did you not read the comment section at the bottom of the refund page emailed to you where I mentioned the reason for the refund.
I'm not Mr.T, but I find this post amazing being that I've been emailing you for months and not one reply. Your facebook page's last post was November of 2018 as well. Nothing in spam on my end so I'm guessing you're out of business or have no clue that your email stopped working, OR just stopped caring to answer people trying to buy your product.
Hi, I'm not familiar with euro truck sim, but all of our boards were designed to be "seen" by your computer as a joystick input. So if euro truck makes use of joystick button inputs for driving functions the 2120 will work just fine.
guys if i would like to but more switches than 20 like 62 if i buy 4 generators then i would have prombles with the buttons because they would be the same number? please answer me!!!!
+Costantinos Theodoulou - Hi, There will be no problems with connecting more then one 2040 board to the same computer. Each board has a unique serial number. This is how the computer keeps track on all the boards connected
Hi Cecilio, The 2120 board is designed to be seen by the computer as a joystick controller. So when the board is first plugged in, the computer loads the appropriate driver software. When loaded, the 2120 is ready to be programmed with the desired flight function. No other software is needed. So you can say the board is plug-n-play
***** Hi Alex, on May 1, 2015, Desktop Aviator will be offering the KBD01, keyboard emulator board. It supports push buttons, toggle switches, rotary encoder switches ect. The Software Utility and Instruction Booklet can be downloaded from: www.desktopaviator.com/Products/Model_KBD01/index.htm
Hi, The 2120 is sensed by the computer as a Joystick and the appropriate driver is loaded. So with this in mind; the 2120 will work with any type of simulator that accepts joystick inputs. A simulator that accept keyboard inputs alone; the 2120 is not compatible
Sorry, No. The 2120 is for spst toggle switches. For a 2-pole switch (spdt), you would need our Model 2160. It can be found HERE: www.desktopaviator.com/Products/Model_2160-2170/index.htm
can someone help me? How that switch works? like press and hold on key "kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk" or when you turn on 1 time only sends "k" i want it send one time when i turn switch on it should send like pressing one time and when i turn it off should send 1 time "off" command... because if that sends commands continous with a hundred swtiches that ll be a problem. I need help sorry for my poor english i hope that u understand
+Costantinos Theodoulou - It is very easy to wire up LEDs to the toggle switch connected to the 2040 board. You can goto: desktopaviator.com/Instructions/Model_2120/index.htm and near the bottom of the page, you will see the schematic. Although the instruction page shows our Model 2120 board, the wiring can also be used with the 2040
is the list of the functions down on this page: www.desktopaviator.com/Products/Model_2120/index.htm ONLY what it can do? i doesn't say there i will control lights, so does it control ANYTHING in the plane?
leo bodnar buo 386x card have manytime better than thats little card.and cheapen if think have 32 swithes and 7 analog and rotary encoders can add too all same card. stupid pay thats.

I assume this does not support a 3-way toggle switch? That would operate something like an APU switch.
We are now looking into the Arduino board for flight sim applications. If you know of any, please post your code

Hi mate,
I so sorry, but I should like to say, how to connect the wires to the Tailhook, because is there a lot of wires on Tailhook .
Thank you.

The video might be old but the information it contains is still correct. The 2120 board does work with FSX, FSX-SE, P3D, X-Plane 10 and the newer X-Plane 11.
Price for the 2120 is $38.00 + shipping

Hi! Is it possible to connect knobs or three- position switches?
can you hook a momentary switch to that board which has 3 wires?
is that using the positive voltage and the ground of the 2120 or a seperate supply?
Where and how are those wires called you toggle to the switches and connect them to that card and from that card you can easily assemble it into the PC, do some configuration and it works.

Does anyone know what wire to use for the toggle switch and female connector?
Is it possible to connect push-buttons also?
Where do I buy that exact switch used iser in the video?
where could i get these in the uk??
Do the colers of the wire matter? I'm looking to make a 737 over head panel. But I have no experiance with wires or soldering please explain!
The color of the wires really do not have any effect on the circuit board; but using wires of different color can make it a bit easier if you need to troubleshoot a problem with the setup in the future. Seeing that all DTA circuit boards and Panels make use of the USB Port's 5VDC the wire size really does not matter
can you guys ship to Australia?
does anybody have a more in depth instruction on how to do the toggle switch or can I just use the existing prongs?
Additional 2120 instructions can be found at: desktopaviator.com/Instructions/Model_2120/index.htm
what about toggle switches with an led on it can that work with it?
Cool. What chip is this board based on?

Yes, they still sell these. I just had my 2120 delivered to my house.
great thanks for the help now i know i can get started with my cockpit...
how can i connect 40 toggles, is there any interference one 2120 with the other one?

can that board be used for driving simulators
mark binnion as long as they recognize joysticks
Does anyone know where these guys are located in the U.S?

And where did you get this from??

will this work with mac and the simulator is xplane 10?
Hi, Although we do not have a MAC to test the compatibility of the 2120, many customers have informed us that all of our circuit boards and panels, including the 2120, were detected with a MAC computer. The 2120 is a HID Joystick device, so there should be no compatibility issues.
Also, the 2120 is compatible with X-Plane 10.xx and newer versions
Can I use this for other games instead of flight simulator?
YES! The 2120 can be used on other simulator programs that support a Joystick devices.
will this work with windows 7 and Flight Simulator X?
what system u running?
The board sells for $37.00usd + shipping
To: Mr. T Chandler, AZ,
Well, you finally got in touch with us even though is was through a RUclips Posting.
We emailed you a number of time trying to tell you that your order was returned.
Written on the box RETURN to SENDER - FWD?
You did not answer our emails, so we refunded the purchase price for the board
$50.00, which was the right thing to do under the circumstance
You indicated on the RUclips post, we did not give you an explanation for the refund,
why then did you not read the comment section at the bottom of the refund page emailed to you where I mentioned the reason for the refund.
Bobby B
I'm not Mr.T, but I find this post amazing being that I've been emailing you for months and not one reply. Your facebook page's last post was November of 2018 as well. Nothing in spam on my end so I'm guessing you're out of business or have no clue that your email stopped working, OR just stopped caring to answer people trying to buy your product.
hello is that it can work on euro truck simulator 2 and other simulation games
Hi, I'm not familiar with euro truck sim, but all of our boards were designed to be "seen" by your computer as a joystick input. So if euro truck makes use of joystick button inputs for driving functions the 2120 will work just fine.
DTA34613 thinks you
I see the board is 38 but how much is shipping to the north Texas area
For orders less then $75.00 the board is shipped by FLAT Rate mail for $8.95
DTA34613 thank you
DTA34613 and confirm we use spst toggle switches, correct?
YES! SPST toggle or rocker switches will work with the 2120 board
$8.95 via FLAT Rate mail
guys if i would like to but more switches than 20 like 62 if i buy 4 generators then i would have prombles with the buttons because they would be the same number?
please answer me!!!!
+Costantinos Theodoulou - Hi, There will be no problems with connecting more then one 2040 board to the same computer. Each board has a unique serial number. This is how the computer keeps track on all the boards connected
+DTA34613 thank you man for answer me goodnight! !!!
Hi! Will this work with DCS A-10C?
are your kits plug and play installation?
Hi Cecilio, The 2120 board is designed to be seen by the computer as a joystick controller. So when the board is first plugged in, the computer loads the appropriate driver software. When loaded, the 2120 is ready to be programmed with the desired flight function. No other software is needed. So you can say the board is plug-n-play
DTA34613 so can I use this for American Truck Simulator?
yup :)
Does this work only with Fsx or can I use it for other games too?

***** Hi Alex, on May 1, 2015, Desktop Aviator will be offering the KBD01, keyboard emulator board. It supports push buttons, toggle switches, rotary encoder switches ect. The Software Utility and Instruction Booklet can be downloaded from:
www.desktopaviator.com/Products/Model_KBD01/index.htm
Does this work on other Sims like DCS, Star Citizen, Mech Warrior etc.
Hi, The 2120 is sensed by the computer as a Joystick and the appropriate driver is loaded. So with this in mind; the 2120 will work with any type of simulator that accepts joystick inputs. A simulator that accept keyboard inputs alone; the 2120 is not compatible
does it work with a two-pole switch?
Sorry, No. The 2120 is for spst toggle switches. For a 2-pole switch (spdt), you would need our Model 2160. It can be found HERE: www.desktopaviator.com/Products/Model_2160-2170/index.htm
thanks :)
can someone help me? How that switch works? like press and hold on key "kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk" or when you turn on 1 time only sends "k" i want it send one time when i turn switch on it should send like pressing one time and when i turn it off should send 1 time "off" command... because if that sends commands continous with a hundred swtiches that ll be a problem. I need help sorry for my poor english i hope that u understand
Vio Vio it produces a 1/4 second pulse command so it would be like holding the k buttons for 1/4 second.
how cost the 2120 pluse generator?
Hi, Nice to hear from you. The cost of the 2120 is $38.00usd + appropriate shipping fees
thanks !
guys how to connect led with switches for fsx?
+Costantinos Theodoulou - It is very easy to wire up LEDs to the toggle switch connected to the 2040 board. You can goto: desktopaviator.com/Instructions/Model_2120/index.htm and near the bottom of the page, you will see the schematic. Although the instruction page shows our Model 2120 board, the wiring can also be used with the 2040
thank you very mach again
how to buy?
@icecreamman93 I doubt it, 1pin on, 1pin off, to have a 3 way you need 3 pins.
Hey DTA34613, tnx mate.
will the driver work with windows 7
thx
+sirells007 !!! Hi, YES! All of our circuit boards and Panels are supported by all Windows operating systems, including Win7
This RUclips posting is not manned. Should you wish to get in touch with us, please goto our website
is the list of the functions down on this page: www.desktopaviator.com/Products/Model_2120/index.htm ONLY what it can do? i doesn't say there i will control lights, so does it control ANYTHING in the plane?
NoJackAway it can control anything you can map a key to. All it does is send a 1/4 second key command
Does this work with windows 10
The board will work with XP, Win 7 and Win 10
Thanks
