I remember building and flying the Estes Mini Honest John. It was designed for the 1/2 A series engines and I dropped a B6-4 into it. needless to say I never saw it again.
Yo , when I was in the Army at Ft Sill, 1964-1965, I attended several fire power demonstrations, The Honest John was fired off of a rail on a 5 ton truck. I also saw Little Johns, it started spinning before it hauled ass. I was assigned to the 9th fa msl group
How do you get such perfect simultaneity in ignition? Incredible fitment too, those motors slid in like one of those EDM samples! I see so many people hammering their engines in!
@@mikestanley9176 My apologies mate. My comment was not aimed at you. It was meant to be a humorous jab at that strange group of people who believe that the earth is flat. No offence meant towards you.
Can you guys just shoot anything around. We here in Australian have to get a license for a air rifle and that’s not easy you have to be in a rifle club or own a big piece of land. 😂
It is legal as long as no guidance package is attached. Rocketry is so old it was grandfathered into almost everything, but the minute you put guidance into it, you get the FAA and the ATF arguing over who gets to take the most of your money.
Put a stearing pack and swap the parachite for a small explosive with shrapnel and the Ukrane will buy that off you. Take down helecopters and drones a treat that would.
0:48 that sounds so good

❤
Great to see it all come together. Perfect flight.
Me before liftoff: "Oh great. Another Big Dumb Rocket going low and slow."
Me after liftoff: "Mother of God."
It's a model of a missile. It should fly like one 😜
on the way up, anyway
@@RocketVlogsy u turned off comments 😢😢. i want to appreciate u🎉
The FAA had the exact same reaction.
@@Xavier2663 They aren't off!
I'm still amazed at how little spin you incurred
Honestly, me too! Especially considering I eyeball aligned the fins and the slots were way too big.
@@RocketVlogs-- Did you have any telemetry or a way to determine G-force on liftoff?

@@RocketVlogs What kind of lent you you use that day in your camera ????

Wow... I bet they were something to see...
I took pictures with a Kodak instamatic, I should have the negatives made for my computer@@Jreb1865

Love the onboard video footage of the launch! How do you mount the camera to the body tube?
it's a custom 3D printed shroud. I'll show it in a video some time soon!
Really nice rocket and flight! Outstanding!
That has to be the neatest thing that I have seen in some time! I love Rockets!
I had the Estes Honest John with the big Plastic Nose Cone and engines were D-12 if I remember correctly.
I just watched the full video. Got my answers. Extremely cool.
Sweet. Always nice to see the TIR Test Range again.😊
Nice!
I used to remember launching the small rockets when my son and his friends were younger! 15 years ago!!
What was your max altitude? that was amazing you could actually see the curvature of the Earth.
Bcuz u kno da earth is flat😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@CombatMosquitoTrainer no sir. I am merely stating that it was amazing to be able to see it during an amateur rocketry flight.

First thing I was coming to comments to try to find or ask about lol
I'm very much not a flat earther, but I don't think you can see it.
Flawless flight and recovery
I'll borrow a saying me and my skier pals in CO use frequently. It definitely applies to your rocket projects. "Go BIG or go HOME!"
That’s what my wife’s doctor said, when we were picking out breast implants 😂
I say get down with your bad self. That was awesome
Congratulations on the successful flight!! What motors did you use???
M650, two J570s, two J350s
They were listed I think 🤔
@@shauljonah6955 thank you!
The cameraman never dies.
Imagine hanging on to it like having a altitude suit on with breather and all an parachute an go up with it would be the most insane sick stunt ever!
3:06 why was the video clipped there?
2:39 lmao sounds like tires screeching
What was the maximum altitude achieved?
Awesome footage. I am sure E- Musk have seen this footage and have something to fear for competition.
Unique kit and awesome launch
Each year in mansfield washington they hot a group that does this.. i need to attend one year
Why it looks like is going straight up from the rocket perspective but from ground looks like is going 45º from the earth?
Somehow that looks a bit larger than the seven and a half inches the description indicates. Which part is supposed to be 7.5" exactly?
Now you all have seen that the Earth is felt
Man that fin looked like it took a good one on landing, made me cringe a little lol how many fps was it dropping with the chute?
About 18fps
@@RocketVlogswhat altitude did you achieve?
Why are they not answering questions or putting FAQ in the description?
Congratulations 🎊
What are the materials that power the missile?
C6-7 maybe
Damn she bad. beautiful launch n rocket
If you have all the parameters installed on your rocket you will determine how high your 🚀 goes up plus the speed and other measurements.
Any idea on the max speed it hit?
Thank for approval that the earth is circle
Ooo!! I see a little bit of fin flutter! W0w
A so detailed perfection!
Наш следующий шаг. Мы начнем запускать людей на околоземную орбиту.
🤣
what did you use as propelant?
NASA can be proud of you
Where can I get this? I'm seriously interested. Somebody please help me out and point me in the right direction
Some of us are from South-Central New Mexico, slightly north of El Paso, Texas. Would this have been filmed nearby, by chance?
Nah
That was not fast, high or AWESOME enough!!
Badass brother!
How high and how fast it goes?
still more accurate than north Koreas Missile program
Love❤ from India🇮🇳.
What altitude was achieved?
Now I have to ask, were you instructed to use a fish eye lens or was that something that YOU actually wanted to do?
Pronto, já provou que a terra é redonda.
Round or flat?
What distance this rocket achived?
How do you pick the site to launch from?
I fly with established clubs that have dedicated sites with FAA waivers, so it's not up to me so much
this is not a Privat shot. Why is this range so short ?
Where can I buy? Live in Germany
How high is this missile in kilometers??!!!
probably reached 2 miles of altitude in 30 seconds
The launch rod seemed to cause alot of deflection
How high did it go?
Just under 10,000 feet
What motors? 4 29mm and 1 ?
Four 38mm Js and a 75mm M
Cuanto subio??
That was dope
How much $ per flight? Those motors don't look cheap. Nice video.
So fast in gliding back? 13 seconds?
Why?
That is awesome.
Air Fest in a couple weeks. You gonna be there?
You bet!

We real live in a ball did anyone notice
Cant reach aero space?

Yes flat earthers, the earth is round
what if hit the sky?

There's clubs that do this in Australia, too!
Clowns, it’s a fish eye CB lense
Wow.
I want to become a voluntary human attached to this device and be launched ❤❤❤
Where is the Earth's sphere?
What was the hight...?
Came to ask the same… though I would’ve spelled it “height”, LOL!!!
Just a bit under 10,000 feet
@@RocketVlogs looked at least twice that..🤔
@paulantony4598 Alrighty lol. It wasn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't! It's 7.5 inches in diameter. Overall it's about 10 feet tall.

Why?

Heck no, my boat goes over the curve all day son.. oh crap!!! would that be considered going over a edge like the flat earthers? 😢😢
Next time don’t use a fisheye, just regular lens. Who wants to bet that the horizon will still be flat as a pancake?
