The rocket you built flies very smoothly, which is impressive! I’m curious, though-what type of motor are you using? Do you use a sugar motor with a mixture of potassium nitrate and sugar, or do you use something else? I’d appreciate it if you could let me know!
Great job, Taylor!! Will you be heading down to Thunder Struck to fly this year? I am planning on making it down; only a week after MWP. Hoping to get a few up into the high 20's......Punisher 3, 4 fins, no MMT (min diameter) is pretty much complete and hope to fly it on an M1297. We shall see! I like your method of securing the motor with a bulk plate and making the space between the two the location for the electronics. I assume you used an RDF for tracking?
I unfortunately won’t make it to thunder struck this year. Those flights should be awesome! I used featherweight GPS for the first time on this flight. I had RF tracking as well, but the antenna actually was ripped off so I’m glad I had GPS!
It was just as simple as the stratologger. The only downside is having to hook it up to the computer to change settings, but operations are great. I would be buying more of them, but the new Featherweight Blue Jay is going to be the perfect altimeter I think.
I've been very pleased with the Loctite E-60HP. The E120-HP wasn't viscous enough and ended up in unexpected places.
It didn’t occur to me when I bought it that longer cure time would equal lower viscosity lol I’m still learning!
@@the_rocketchannel I ordered some of the infinity bond epoxy to try out. Much cheaper than the loctite!!
Great job, Taylor!
I'm sure everything will work out next time.
I love you, I am following you from Iraq ❤
M685 md goes HARD!!! Cool to see the build and how you did the fins.
Man, you were really locked-in on this build!
Gotta be locked in! 😂

Ammonium perchlorate composite propellant.

@@the_rocketchannel I meant Distant Thunder. DOH!!!! Indiana and Kansas are totally different locations!!! lol
😂 yes I’ll be at distant thunder!
@@the_rocketchannel Thaaaaaats better!
The coolest thing to happen before GTA 6
where did you find custom fins?
Those 41 minutes of setup time on the epoxy would be great in a vacuum chamber smdh
You are talking to the guy that is still using foam board fin guides lmao
What fuel did you use?
How did you find using the easy mini compared to the stratologger?

Was that Arcas fin shape you used? Looks similar. Are those better stability than long thin tapered fins?
Yea Arcas fins. Not better for stability, but easy to cut and gets surprisingly good performance.
LAWDY HATH MERTHY
How high would it have flown if it was a two-stager?
Too many variables, but presumably a LOT higher lol
