What a beautiful story. So glad you get to walk her through the highs of getting to that one rank.
I remember when I hit champ 1 like 3 or 4 years ago. It was the best feeling I’ve ever had playing a video game.
Still at champ 1 all these seasons later though. Wish i can break free

about bounce dribbling, I figured once that when driving with the ball momentum, in order to hit the ball where you want you need to allign your butt with ball and target and then you just turn into ball. Just remember that powerslide cut requires a little different positioning to ball

    Great video,as always!
By the way,the segment about plats missing most shots is very accurate. Whenever I play in plat or diamond elo I just let the opponents make mistakes for me. 99% of the time they double commit, over commit or get really bad touches that give you an open net. Instead of allowing their teammate to clear the ball,so many players in these ranks will just go in,get a bad touch and leave the net uncontested.
Imo,the most important skill in this case is patience. Just observe the play and wait for your opportunity!

I am a certified diamond 3 player and yes I can confirm that 90% of matches in diamond are indeed chaotic. I'm more often than not up against people that seem far better than the diamond 3 standard, and before you haters call out saying maybe I just don't meet the standard, I would like to say that in turn there are also absolutely abysmal players that either make it on my team or I can get an easy W out of. Diamond is a massive blockade for me and I did quit for a while, but I'm back now with new spirits and the help of CBell himself in this masterful series. Thank you so much.

A huge factor for good 1 on 1 coaching is the chemistry between coach and student. I love to see how you two connect and it might be what differs from the other coaches who deemed Emmy unteachable.
I'm curious how you would coach someone with a different mindset, attitude, mentality and such on the same path. A rager, someone very timid, someone overly selfconfident, something alike.
This series is a perfect tutorial for many of us. Thanks!

This will only get trickier in diamond, but she definitely has what it takes to come all the way into GC! Every episode you really see her want to improve and it shows in all of her mechanics and game sense! I can't wait to see how she develops over time. Keep up the work Emmie, congratulations on Diamond!

I am a champ who recently ranked out of diamond after being stuck there for 2 months, and I can confirm that diamond 3 to champ is the largest leap in difficulty in the low ranks. But I believe emmy will be able to get through with consistent mechanics, good recoveries, and most importantly, gamesense.

As a GC 2-GC 3 it gives me hope for the lower ranks when someone truly strifes to get better at the game and work on their own gameplay, rather than focus on the gameplay of those around them.
GC is only the beginning, it's phase 1. I got to GC initially with 1k hours under my belt, I now have 3.5k hours under my belt and I've only gained 200-250 mmr since. However there is one fundmanetal thing that never changes when rising up the ranks, no matter what rank you are, what sets people apart and helps them break from the pack is your mentality.
Keep up the grind though, love this series so far.

Can confirm, getting out of diamond was a pain, and a month after I got out, psyonix reworked the mmr system and made every low champ into a hard stuck diamond. A lot of us quit then. This was a couple years ago, after coming back I only play dropshot now.

    That was really touching!
As someone who... Is much worse than CBell myself.
I myself am struggling not learning but applying concepts due to being Neurodivergent. But overall, I'm sitting pretty happily in Diamond so far.
What's funny, considering this video is that, when I restarted the game this year, where all my Friends either have Quit, are GC or even SSL in one Case, I was told by a Fiverr Coach that it's not possible to teach me the game properly.
They told me I'm hard capped around Plat 2.
I don't have any ranked goals really.
I just want to hone my mechanical skills, much like playing a fine instrument, this game! Theory Knowledge, Skills, Techniques and all!
I play Ranked to have a good Test of my current skillset and to compare what I need to get better at, what my ranked mates can and can't do and what a complete Blowout looks like. (Which, let's be real, in Diamond, takes at best 3 games to find a smurf)
Sometimes I wish I had money to spare for another Coaching even though the last one was a really scarring experience that left me with a sour taste. Just to see, where I am at now and if I'm on the right track.
But I believe I know my Mental Issues better than anyone else and truly believe I am smart enough to formulate a plan to push through regardless and for about 100 hours since I started this game after a 4 Year break (where I knew nothing to begin with, having Ranked Gold and then stopped playing) my progress is going great!

Sergeant Cranky here, Diamond for the past 3 seasons and 1/2. Diamond is as painful as it is fun. One game you are on a relax ride and the other one is a descent to hell trying to support your tm8. EACH mistakes has more impact than in plat since this is where players start to focus on their own style of gameplay and adapting to each different ones at each game is a task of it's own. She got this if she stays calm and analyze the field before acting on the ball each time.
