You my friend are a very smart man. Just a word of caution, be very careful of EMF generated by high frequency arcs. Keep in mind that EMFs generated by high-frequency welding equipment and components, such as inverters and pulsed welding processes, may produce an additional type of EMF, known as radio-frequency (RF) radiation. RF energy radiates through space in the form of wireless waves or digital pulsing. Human blood contains iron and other minerals and there are studies that show how our blood is affected. This is not widely publicized because it will cause negative impact to the welding industry. There is no other technology to weld metal at the moment so it is kept quiet. We have heard of the dangers of RF from mobile phones, RF from HF welding is much more powerful. Stay safe.
what you mention is correct and certainly human bodies are affected by electromagnetic waves such as cell phone radio or wi fi or satellites and even hv pulses but the human body regenerates if we maintain a balance way of life away from toxins, smoking, stress, and poor diet.
I thought RF radiation was non-ionizing - just heats up cell tissue or some such. Can't recall where I read that. The majority of transformer based welders are stuck at 50-60 hertz depending on your local power supply. There are some wicked expensive Transformer TIG units that have frequency adjustment but I don't know if anyone makes units like that anymore. And those units have been around for a long time. If there was a serious risk (other then the usual and known risks like welding with a pacemaker) associated with HF produced by inverters and high end transformer TIG machines then wouldn't the industry would revert to "old" transformer welders? Go back to using exotic gas mixes to weld any relatively uncommon metals, colorless stainless welds etc?
@@brianlittleforest631 The profits from the technology are immediate, the consequences and costs are deferred to the future you, the timeline for definitively recognizing the problem far exceeds and preempts the timeline for litigating compensation. Health really cant be compensated financially anyways, so beware.
@Nicole Yenson that was whole lot of typing to tell me nothing. Be wary . . . why? By what manner and mechnism will HF welding cause harm? HF inverters units have been around since the 80's and the guys who are retiring out now are still suffering from the usual effects of welding long-term, skin cancer (usually arms) emphysema etc. Seems to me I'm better off investing in the usual PPE - respirators and UV protection rather then wasting the effort to protect myself from a non-existent hazard. I have one C.C. machine capable of 250 hertz AC and DC pulse adjustment which has got to be a wide wave length - must be upwards of 1000 km wide I don't know exactly how wide of the top of my head. Other machines can do up to 500 hertz. Since mine is square wave machine the part that uses HF to start the arc is momentary @ 2 Mhertz. Which is about the same wavelength as AM radio. Sorry, but I call B.S. HF can be fatal for sure. But in the way grabbing a live wire can be fatal.
That be well and God bless you all, really meant alot , and I subscribe to your channel! And thanks for the info, I was wondering how they ran two signals on a single circuit , thank you very much, for your time and knowledge, and thanks for the effort to make us understand! Have a great day!

Hello my friend, I congratulate you on your great work, after watching your videos I made a tig machine and it works very well, there is only one detail that I cannot find why it is, it turns out that it consumes a lot of current through the primary of the main transformer when welding, yes I put the output at 200A in the primary, it consumes almost 100A, and that only happens when I use my machine as a tig, has it happened to you? Do you have any contact where I can exchange with you about these wonderful tig welding machines? Greetings from Cuba, Central America and the Caribbean
most likely you have a leak in one of your coils and when you use the high frequency in the tig it makes an arc inside the coil and increases the consumption,,,check or rebuild the special componet whose use is that the high frequency does not affect the coil but is transferred directly to the welding point,, if this does not correct the problem then you need another welding transformer or to locate the leakage by unwinding and re-winding the primary and secondary coils. in this link you can contact and upload a photo if you need more help. = doityourself123.forumgreek.com/t505-topic

it is about two different current values in the same conductor, one with a few volts and many amperes and one with thousands of volts and zero current,,,but there is always the risk of electric shock...

thanks for the comments, i love it. as for your question = an inverter welding works with pulsed rectified voltage and so you can not get AC voltage,,you need either a very sophisticated inverter or a simple welding transformer as I do in the video,,the transformer is cheap and does the job perfectly at AC 50Hz.

Estimado Zafdeep. Saludos.

The purpose of the „special component”, and the capacitors, and the diacs together, is to protect the welder's diode bridge from the high voltage? Please give me a detailed explanation. You can use your language, if it makes easier to explain, i can translate it.
the capacitors, and the diacs together, is to protect the welder's diode bridge from the high voltage The purpose of the „special component”, is to connect the ground and the electrode to simmer coil.
If I understand it correctly the SC is a spark gap. The first inductor on the DC version does not conduct high frequencies but can pass the 40v for the welding current. This way you can apply a high voltage between the tool and ground without the HV getting shorted out by the thick welding wire. Because the first inductor is effectively removed from the circuit as far as the high voltage is concerned you need a device to close the circuit for the high voltage but not short out the weld current. The spark gap allows this.

Stay safe.
what you mention is correct
and certainly human bodies are affected by electromagnetic waves such as cell phone radio or wi fi or satellites and even hv pulses
but the human body regenerates
if we maintain a balance way of life away from toxins, smoking, stress, and poor diet.

Perfect for someone who has no idea about electronics
Perfect for someone who DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE 3,000-5,000 euro-dolars for a aluminum tig welding macine,, How about that?
Hello, do we need a large current and voltage at the same time with the gas out, to get a good weld, or do we need a large effort with gas only, and why does the user not be electrocuted if there is a current and a large voltage at the same time, please reply and thank you very much
it is about two different current values in the same conductor, one with a few volts and many amperes and one with thousands of volts and zero current,,,but there is always the risk of electric shock...

new subscriber because i love how you get a kick out of your "special component" also thank you very much for helping me with this video! i recently bought a tig/mig/plasma welder and didnt realize that it was a DC only. I am hoping that i can some how convert it to AC/DC. so with this video and your other video i hope to have all that and hf start ( which i may have since i dont believe it scratch start) . if you can answer this question for me that will be amazing! in a DC welder does the transformer produce AC current, which is then fed into a full bridge ractifier to get DC ?
thanks for the comments, i love it.
as for your question = an inverter welding works with pulsed rectified voltage and so you can not get AC voltage,,you need either a very sophisticated inverter or a simple welding transformer as I do in the video,,the transformer is cheap and does the job perfectly at AC 50Hz.

What is the role of the spark?
Gracias x la información. Buen video
Estimado Zafdeep.
Saludos.

This „special component” is basically a voltage dependent resistor? I don't understand the role of the capacitors and the diacs on the diode bridge. The purpose of the „special component”, and the capacitors, and the diacs together, is to protect the welder's diode bridge from the high voltage? Please give me a detailed explanation. You can use your language, if it makes easier to explain, i can translate it.
the capacitors, and the diacs together, is to protect the welder's diode bridge from the high voltage
The purpose of the „special component”, is to connect the ground and the electrode to simmer coil.
Hmm or perhaps its just a HV cap to the same effect?
