If I take off front clutch cover (still on truck) would I be able to see clutch engage?

Volvo and Mack are the only ones I have seen use that style compressor with the clutch internal behind the drive pulley. Not sure why they are the only ones to use them.

It’s just a cover. It can be removed.

How do you know if the clutch is bad. I got no freon leak but the cluster says low voltage
