This video inspired me to take my egr apart. It actually break down much more. I removed every piece. I did a video “Volvo D13 EGR repair”. In it I break down the entire egr and rebuild it. The oil lines cool the egr. As you will see they do not lubricate the egr. For less than $20 a lubrication port can be added to the egr valve and eliminate the problem of it failing.

Is there anyways it could be checked. Mine showed a code once and disappeared. But mpg failed. I feel the truck running rough. I was told if you warm up the engine engine take the short hose coming out of the egr cooler into the vector pipe and blows air out the egr cooler then the valve is staying open. Have you heard of any test to check
for the egr valve you can from my experience if it failed you can still make it home. but i would be more worried about the turbo and egr cooler if they are still original with 750k.

The EGR valve should be opened or closed when the engine is off? Because I applied air pressure when the engine is off and the pressure/air went to the exhaust system thanks
I have a d16 engine volvo show stop engine light on non boost pressure gauge move hook a computer the egr valve position only show 2.25 percentage and has no boost, replace boost sensor no change at all? Do u thing the egr is failed or partial open? Thanks

How to clean egr valve ?
my egr valve stays open. Is this concerning? Does it affect the engine?

And keep asking regen right in after every 5 mile and will go derate mode
