37:19 Yevgeniy Borisovich Lan, carpentry master Earlier in the monastery there was a quote by Ignatius Brianchaninov, it's a bit hard to make out the words but I think it's "The life of a monk is nothing but active and unceasing repentance."
Wow. Not a lot catches my eye anymore, but I love how raw and original this piece is. And I'm glad that Welonz can also see and appreciate these qualities (pretty much instantly!).
Like 3 minutes in and I'm already blown away by how truly bizarre this is, they really went all in on the weirdness and honestly, I'm at least interested, for sure~
Oh hell yeah this is the weird, experimental shit I love. It's not exactly pretentious, and it's a bit disarming but it's also absorbing if that makes any sense. I already love the premise and execution. I'm very curious what this journey will be like, especially with Ilya in the picture
I'd never heard of this game before, but it's VERY impressive how captivating and well directed this game is so far. I have no idea what's going to happen from moment to moment, but also in the long term of the plot, but I need to find out. Whoever made this game really knows what they're doing. Sorry to say, I might need to avoid watching you play the rest of this until I do my own playthrough, because this seems like it's worth investing in. It's rare to see a unique game like this.
ok in the demo i didn't really get the clash of genres(?) in this game, including music, pixel objects, and leveling up your nun and such, but now that I watch this, this is the most trippy experience I've ever seen in a game even tripper than the games that try to be trippy on purpose with psychedelic art styles I feel DRUGGED watching this😂
The text on 3:20 is a quote by Theodore the Studite: "Cutting off our will is the firstmost virtue" ("Отсечение нашей воли - это первейшая добродетель"). Very fitting
3:20 That sign is a text from bible, as far as I can recon, says something about apocalypse if you don't have enough faith. I couldn't read the whole sentence simply because it was halfway in the shadow.
I found the quote! "Отсечение нашей воли - это первейшая добродетель" - "Cutting off our will is the firstmost [most important] virtue" (Theodore the Studite)
Born into faith or choosing faith. I think born-again Christians wouldn't have the stereotypes associated with them that they do if they were all totally chill and normal people.
Right not insane at all = a nun on a bicycle carrying a wounded convict who just used her for a shield down a snowy hill while being chased by a hysterical rifle wielding Mr. Magoo / WTF is this game?!
I like the setting and atmosphere of the game but I am not vibrating with the whole "gamey" aspect of it at all tbh, it's a little too jarring for me. I wouldn't be surprised if the devil/game scolds the player for treating everything like a game and caring only about points and whatnot, just like a certain shooter from a few years ago. Also, I hope the story isn't just some long way to say "religion bad etc etc" and I'm not even religious. I'll still watch though.
Since this game got good reviews and was called "thoughtful" and "compelling", I'll predict that by the end of the game the main character will have lost her faith, realize that belief is for gullible fools, and become an atheist. Any other ending and the reviews would have called it Christian propaganda.
As an atheist, I think if so much fascinating artistry and creative vision were to amount to nothing more than a trite "CHRISTIANITY BAD," it would make for a rather disappointing and lazy game. Sure, all the nuns are jerks and there was that rapey guy, but it's honestly pretty shallow and dumb to just show a bunch of church members acting horribly and then using that to say "and therefore God is not real, The End." Clearly, there is something weirder and more interesting going on with this game -- or at least I hope so. Also, from what little we've seen thus far, Indika seems devoted to her faith and duty in spite of her church's worst examples. I can sort of respect that mindset. You don't judge a religion based on how its adherents behave, you judge it on whether or not it is true. Obviously I disagree that Christianity is true, but that's another matter.
Well being set in Russia she would be Orthodox, which wouldn't gel with Western flavours of Christianity. The irony is Protestants would deem this the "wrong" kind of Christianity.
Not a big deal, but this game has some straight up awful font choices. Pixel art-looking fonts on the inventory and some HUD features, basic-ass arial font for subtitles, then some times new roman for a few prompts. Bruh.

I don’t know why but this gives me huge The Council vibe and that was one of my favorite Let’s Play you’ve done
Yea and The Council was one of my favorites games
That's exactly what I was thinking as well !
Well now I have to watch it
That's how I found her cahnnel!
Well this seemed really weird, but also interesting. Looking forward to seeing more of this!
Wow.

This is fascinating. I think I already mentioned this in the demo comments, but I love the humor and the voice acting.
This is definitely something I would watch, if it were a TV show. It reminds me a little bit of the show Channel Zero.
those opening credits are so cool
8:56 "where are they sticking those fingers up" 🫣✝️
Vibrators were invented to "heal" female hysteria. I wouldn't put it past Christians to invent a dildo as a "healing" device.
Like 3 minutes in and I'm already blown away by how truly bizarre this is, they really went all in on the weirdness and honestly, I'm at least interested, for sure~
Ok 16:28 is one of the most wtf things I've ever seen 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It hits different when you come to a hotel after a long day of work and Welonz has uploaded
Amen to that! ;)
Yeah she needs to do it more often 😂
37:22 It's a sign of carpenter. Above name is written, below : "specialist of carpentry".
Oh hell yeah this is the weird, experimental shit I love. It's not exactly pretentious, and it's a bit disarming but it's also absorbing if that makes any sense. I already love the premise and execution. I'm very curious what this journey will be like, especially with Ilya in the picture
Yay. Shame this game is so short because it's so interesting and different. Wish there were more games like Indika
"I kinda wanna hear the devil though" 🤘

Welonz had a first look a little while ago.
I'm really happy that you played this game, I love your playthroughs! I can already tell that this is going to be an interesting evening
I know I can always bet on Welonz to play this type of games :P I was so waiting for Indika playthrough, thank you so much
this is ridiculous in all the best ways
ok in the demo i didn't really get the clash of genres(?) in this game, including music, pixel objects, and leveling up your nun and such, but now that I watch this, this is the most trippy experience I've ever seen in a game

37:18 at the top it says a name of the person "Yevgeniy Borisovich Lan''", at the bottom it says "master carpenter"
40:04 haystacks
I like this. Let's go all the way!
40:03 Those are heaps of hay to feed livestock during winter. They, haystacks, are covered to protect hay from getting wet from rains.
The text on 3:20 is a quote by Theodore the Studite: "Cutting off our will is the firstmost virtue"
("Отсечение нашей воли - это первейшая добродетель"). Very fitting
Keep up if you want, this game give me some reflexion in belives and faith, all that type of thing, it is weird but it kinda fits well
The narrator is a roaster comedian for sure. 😂
4:13 This sign says: life of nun is nothing more than constant repentance. Usual propaganda for the place.
14:46: Yup, that's a thing. It's called the Zeal of the Convert: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeal_of_the_convert.
3:20 That sign is a text from bible, as far as I can recon, says something about apocalypse if you don't have enough faith. I couldn't read the whole sentence simply because it was halfway in the shadow.
I can only see "...первейшая добродетель!" (..the most important virtue!) and someone's name underneath, so I don't think it's from the bible
I found the quote!
"Отсечение нашей воли - это первейшая добродетель" - "Cutting off our will is the firstmost [most important] virtue" (Theodore the Studite)
@@Name-d2t Thanks man. For some reason I thought I saw something about apocalypse in this saying and made an assumption.
ohmy thanks!
16:27 they knew if you got that water you needed some relief 😀😂😂😂💀💀💀💀💀💀
Thank you for continuing this ! I thought about the first look a few times. Can't wait to watch this Let's Play 😁
The points system is really funny to me idk why but its such a gamey sound
7:00 nooo welonz dont walk into the giant goat poop
This is very interesting.
I love the #oddmeter and I hope this continues!
37:18 the only words I can make out are carpentry master... Maybe carpentry tribute? The script is crazy hard to read.
This game is basically made to be played by Welonz XD Hearing her laugh is so infectious
Born into faith or choosing faith.
I think born-again Christians wouldn't have the stereotypes associated with them that they do if they were all totally chill and normal people.
Oo was waiting on this one
What a...interesting game
This game is very creepy. Feels like you're playing in a Resident Evil village. Cultists everywhere.
Also...its like a Hideo Kojima game in a way.
Will you be playing the Hades 2 early access? Great vid btw!
That's a good shout! I forgot she'd played the first one
@@七百七十七 just finished the first hades play through from her hoping for the next one haha
haha I replied to your previous comment already, not sure when exactly yet but yup I'll check it out
@@Welonzhaha thanks for replying to both!
do I need to watch the Demo before watching this?
nope! we will see the demo part in this later
@@Welonzthanks
Unreal engine is truly unreal.
do you think you will play hades 2?
Nice
Ooooh
Right not insane at all = a nun on a bicycle carrying a wounded convict who just used her for a shield down a snowy hill while being chased by a hysterical rifle wielding Mr. Magoo / WTF is this game?!
Werewolf nun is back?
Moree
The voice in her head reminds me of a bit of Ollivander from the Harry Potter movies, at times.
edit: where the hell did you find this game?!? LOL
This game creates an uparralleled air of desperation and masochism exactly like it was in winter Russia in past centuries.
Yes, Russia has always been a physically brutal place.
"Why do I live where the air hurts my face?"
The cutscene with the girl got bugged somehow and stopped earlier they didnt show her getting away
what is happening 💀
Devotion and deviation? Why not.
Running with a rifle, having to reload and aim in the middle of snow really is not a good way to run
Nobody says anything about the guitar he tried to take???
Church is strange
4:45 Just Russia things

created an account just for this?
@@Bawinni Everyone has to have a first comment somewhere. Mine apparently struck a nerve with you. I wonder why that might be.
Here, we see the desire be seen as righteously suffering in full. You really think Christianity is suffering in influence at the moment?
