ABSOLUTLY mesmerized by this terrain, I have been on some very unforgiving "roads" in New Mexico and Arizona but man I've never seen anything like this, these guys aren't spring chickens either, got to give them credit for attempting this, what a trek and the stuff life experiences are made of.
The whole video was ASMR. I'm not mad that it doesn't have background music, I'm happy that it doesn't. Great video lads!
Here's video of just the Cliffhanger Road ruclips.net/video/8dqpStLeaL0/видео.html

@@UPSHIFT_ONLINE how would you rate RE HIMALAYAN ON himalayan passes and on offroads ?
yes, that tabla music....i only hear that music on non indian channels featuring anything indian
That, is THE definition of adventure. It helps us understand the RE Himalayan. It wasn't designed as a hores power monster, it was designed to be a sure footed mule with enough horse power, but tractable torque that won't launch you over the edge of that crazy cliffy, mountain road.
Exactly!
Yes indeed. We didn't have to worry about "bike performance" so that gave us time to take in the scenery!
It's not an adventure if you have a guide.
@@ilyafilru You know nothing about altitude riding it is one thing to ride up to 4000 meters but it is another thing to ride down and you cannot see the ground due to riding through the clouds and your hands cramping while holding onto your handlebars and your lungs grasping for air
@@gregt7927 You know nothing about punctuation.
I went a bit slower on that road. :-)
I did not want to come back from motorbiking, my face hurt every day not from the riding but from smiling so hard. Was 2011-2013 on a Royal Enfield Electra 350 Did 18 months 28000km
Bruh wanna meet you sometime 🥲
Electra!! I remember when i was in school, a friend of mine had the maroon colour electra.
Lucky sod ;-) I have been to India on my bikes quite a few times now but so far never managed to get along the cliff-hanger road. In 2022 i'm planning riding from Scotland to Australia and for sure will be playing all around on those cliff roads of India for a few weeks. Great clip. Thanks for posting
Thank you for watching. Have fun on your trip.
Thats what himalayan is made for!!
Exactly
@@UPSHIFT_ONLINE Do you know Noraly? A Dutch woman who biked lots of miles on a RE Himalayan? Channel is ItchyBoots.
ruclips.net/video/5wnfht7w3EE/видео.html
I went to Ladakh with my cousin. He rented a Tirumph Tiger and I choose a RE classic since it was cheap and satisfied my budget. The Tirumph dominated the soft terrain at lower attitudes even my cousin got overlemed by its raw power and handling. As the altitude increased, Tirumph found it hard to breath due to decrease in oxygen level and even the engine got knocked off at times. But the worst part was while crossing a small stream my cousin accidently slipped alongwith the bike and tripped a relay in the FI system of the tiger. It was very complicated and hard to repair the ignition system of a triumph. We had to remove a dozen of Allen bolts to uncover the FI housing finally fixed it after 4 hours in that cold weather. In the overall trek, the only problems I faced in the RE were the vibrations at lower RPMs. It is a jack of trades and most importantly you don't need phd in mechanical engineering to repair a RE... No electronic crap..
P. S... I only choose a RE classic because all the himalayans in that Rental shop were pre-booked.
I know other costly sophisticate bikes are awesome but i dont need a rocket science on my road trip. this himalayan is simple and fun and? so damn cheap compared to big brands. this is all win-win for me
100% BRILLIANT GUYS,i will be test riding a Himalayan in the morning, Paul from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Enjoy! It's great at what it was meant to do that is for sure.
Spectacular. I've driven many roads like that on a quad bike in Colorado...but I don't do it anymore in my silver years, I leave it to the younger folks like you now. Safe travels.
We aren't exactly in our 20's and 30's either ;)
@@UPSHIFT_ONLINE - you fellas took an awesome trip...one we all envy!
Himalyas are way higher than the rockies..
@@WildLensbyTejas Thats pretty obvious, but we still have narrow 4x4 roads with several thousand foot drop offs.
@@WildLensbyTejasyou didn't understand the essence of his comment .
I've just happened across your adventure today after having ordered my RE Himalayan several hours ago from my local dealership near Houston, Texas, USA. I must say this is the stuff of dreams and so inspiring, as I'm preparing to embark on a journey down to Peru and back next season...thanks so much for enduring the test, and living to share it. Cheers!
encouraging to hear, though the bike has only 24 HP u guying are going for it.
@@upward_onward It'll push 110 KPH all day long, and haul anything attached without a complaint. Taken in increments, (and regular breaks) it'll be well suited. Now to just get past the pesky beak-in period and await the arrival of the panniers & crash bars coming in from RE India. All in all an excellent platform.
@@douglasyoungblood7801 Indeed, have a pleasant tour. I too own a Himalayan BSIV for a couple of months, clocked around 3200km. It's not a bad purchase.
@@douglasyoungblood7801 Have a great journey!
It is a small bike as compared to other touring machines..but sometimes it does the work...
Best off roading video I had ever seen in my life
Well thank you very much for the kind words!
I saw one of these bikes for the first time at the Motorcycle Expo 2019 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I live. I was stroke by the simple and trustful look of the RE Himalayan, although I was not sure if it was just a "marketing trick". After watching this video I am changing my mind... Thank you guys for the awesome adventure you shared with us by posting this footage. I envy you! Congratulations! PS - you make my BMW GS 1200 look very cumbersome!
Good to see someone making real motorcycles again. They remind me of Ted Simon's round the world Triumph 500. Easy to ride, light to pick up and you don't need a computer science degree to fix one.
Yes!!!
I went through Srinagra to Leh in 2018 but didn't make a video. Your video is awesome. I love it.
I did a few days trip with my future wife back in 2009, around Manali and to Hampta pass, of course on a Royal Enfield, a ride to remember!Still i got the chills from this trail you did there!
Sounds like a great trip. Thanks for watching ours. So glad it brought back fond memories.
Those Royal Enfields have to be tough to handle those goat trails masquerading as "roads"! You three guys have some brass as well! Safe travels from this fellow old guy (59) who daily rides his R1200RT in Arizona!
Thanks Norm. It was a blast and the Royal Enfield was a pleasant surprise. Did everything we needed it to... purpose built for the trip at hand.
R1200 hah.. goose bumpin
@@brandonglanville2991 Next year they are coming out with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 twin :-)
The bikes were great! I enjoyed having a lower stand over height in some of the sketchier situations.
Great video gents, have ridden twice in the Himalayas and it was a blast both times, second time around I got to sample the RE Himalayan for a couple of days, perfect bike for the terrain, your video brings back the memories and feeling of what it’s like high up and the roads with their sheer drop offs and unpredictable surfaces, makes me what to go back again 👍
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.
Looks like it was an amazing ride.
Great job capturing the scenery and atmosphere!
It was a great trip. Thank you for commenting and the kind words.
Thank you from
Kashmir
Thank you! Great region.
Great video and trip, crazy roads, takes some balls those mountain trails.
Thanks for watching and for the comment.
What an adventure - even extreme traffic of another flavor than London, LA or NY traffic - much thanks for sharing it!
The traffic was off the charts crazy. I would have much rather shuttled in a sprinter van to the foothills and ridden from there. I felt like the trip could have gone sideways at any moment on the road to Delhi. We got lucky this time!
Wow! You redefine adventure touring. I'm in Canada and I have an Africa Twin. I can't imagine riding an Africa Twin on the trip you were on. You guys did great. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate that you guys all seem to be about my age. I won't be going on anything as crazy as what you did, but this summer I will head for the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia.
We love the Africa Twin, but it would have been a lot on this tiny road. The small RE Himalayan was perfect. Thanks for watching and the comment. Hopefully you check out our magazine too. www.upshiftonline.com/upshift-magazine
Awesome video! I've watched dozens of videos of riding in the Himalayans and this ranks right near the top. Thanks for sharing!!!
You people are amazing and courageous. I am waiting for the day when I'll be going on such trips.
I have been riding a Crf 250 rally around Sicilian mountain roads this winter and really enjoying just having the correct amount of power and weight , but your video of your adventure really deserves my compliments to yourselves and the bikes.👍
Thank you very much for the kind words. Enjoy your CRF250 Rally. Great machine.
people underestimate how brutal commuting can be, right? those guys seemed to have left the most demanding part of the journey for the end, navigating the city...
a great video.
i would never take a trip like that... i just love fresh asphalt and 3 lane roads too much :}
great video really appreciate you and your friends ... big love
Thanks so much
Congrats on a great ride the camera work and editing was top class, its hard enough to ride bikes on paved roads over 4000 meters and for you guys to do it in off road conditions just shows what great bikemanship you have thanks again
All that comes to my mind right now : "One Day"
Highly recommended. Sooner the better.
AWESOME, sooner or later I'll be on the same trail!! great vid.
a great RAW adventure...how it should be... no bullshit..no boring fake reactions...sheer riding... kudos
It looks like these bikes are perfect for these roads. Heavier and more powerful bikes may of been too much to contend with.
They really are perfect. Getting in a hurry in some of these places can create more problems that its worth.
You are right! We kept saying these bikes were "just right" for this trip. We could have used a bit more power on the asphalt though!
i own one but it lacks in power
@@simoncudby9056 yes. 10 horses more would have done it.
Its a heavy bike😲
Dios!!! Que fascinante aventura gracias por compartir grandes momentos ... anhelo con amor una himalayan 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Saludos desde Colombia!!!!
Come to Shillong, it's in the north eastern states of Meghalaya. Lots of beautiful places to ride to here.

Now that is a ride! I have to do this ride one day as well. Looks fantastic!
Highly recommend it. We had a great time.
Lovely scenery, great video, thanks for sharing 👍🇬🇧
Thanks!
Probable one of the best adventure trails I've come across, a must for any adventure pilgrim... With love from Kashmir 🍻👍
Finally a motorcycle video that doesn't blast me with the maker's choice of music. (I can choose my own!) The sound of the bikes and the rushing water and the traffic makes for a good sound track. The narration is just right to let us know what is happening. Thanks for the virtual experience.
I agree.. motorbiking along the edge of eternity.. no room for pounding music.
Thank you gentlemen for this wonderful invitation to travel! The shots are magnificent and thanks to these little monos you have been able to remain serene!
A real bike should bring joy and pleasure without scattering the wallet! Simplicity, lightness against mastodons over 1000 cm?...411 Himalaya is David who beat Goliath!
Long and beautiful live to Royal Enfield who i thank for bringing these beautiful English motorcycles back to life!
The 650 is fabulous; I feel like I'm going back to my beloved 70s...
Thank you again for this great moment of escape!
A big hello from France, my country!
So cool guys, thanks for sharing your experience and thanks for the genuine way of showing it
Love and support from south India 😍😍😍

There aren’t many films that I watch to the end……this one I did…….great adventure!
What a great time. Definitely wanting to go back and do it again.
Heroes never die ! Superbe épopée pleine de danger… J'adore !
Roads are bit crazy, but you all done a great job guys. All the best.
Man, it gave me the chills just by watching.. Can't imagine what it would have been being just there. Chapeau
Great video... It makes me want to do the same trip! Amazing scenery and experiences... Well done guys!
Damn you guys are real brave adventurers salut
wow - those mountain tracks!!!! OMG
Great post guys I envy you having such an amazing trip
Ummm. Now I realize why the Royal Enfield Himalaya is such a great bike. What a torture course for man and machine. Amazing.
It's perfect for this kind of trip.
Lots of love from Jammu & Kashmir (INDIA)
This reminds me of the old Land Rover. The new ones with big fat wheels and more power than ever needed they get stuck .The old series 1 and 2 and 3 just ride above the waves so to speak.
Sorry I know its a motorbike Video but the principles are the same !! I am about to get one of these bikes for exactly this reason.. Apart from the fact I am getting old Well not getting old
I am old !!!!! So weight also becomes an issue for these old legs !!! Running cost from what i can gather are substantial lower due to the bikes simplicity..Thanks for the upload really good to
watch listen and learn from those that know what they are doing without all the bullshit !!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!
These bikes were perfect. Getting in a hurry in the Himalayas will just get you in trouble. These bikes slowed everything down, were exceptionally comfortable and lets us take it all in. Worry free.
Now I need a RE Himalayan, and I live in flat-ass Ohio.
lol
Buy one. Who cares you are not in India? I wish I were in Ohio, riding such a bike. You are in Ohio already, just buy that bike. They are cheap. They get you twice the miles for each gallon. They get you anywhere. They are great. What are you waiting for?
😂
I live in Iowa and am buying one.
@@voornaam3191 yes, every country in world has good sceneries..we just beed to travel places to see it🙂

Thanks Martin! We got to the cliff area at about 4pm, so it was "Do it, or turn back", which wasn't really an option!
Loved this video! Moves along at a good clip with fantastic scenery and some simple narration... bravo and thanks! 🍻
How'd you like the Himalayan?
The Himalayan did a great job on the trip. We were fully loaded with all our gear for the week and the bikes did well!
@@simoncudby9056 good to hear!
I too had a good experience on the Himalayan during my recent trip, but I was mostly on pavement. Good to know you didn't have issues on all that rough stuff.
I hope you upload part 5 soon ✌
If the Himalayan isn't the best on the Himalayas then it's no point calling it the Himalayan.
hey Justin ! 😊 found you here !
I liked those bikes the first time I saw them when they first came out. Relatively light, and low. I cant imagine doing that ride on some huge BMW or Super Tenere.
They were perfect for this trip. You definitely do not want a wound tight performance machine. Slow and easy.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Great riders. You have truly motivated me to start riding again.
Man, these streets! Respect for doing this trip!
You and yer friends are much braver than me, I got scared ( while sitting on my couch) as you rode along that death drop, well done indeed!
Love to you Sir, you guys being international still rode those roads, and I am a local can't even think of it
The narrative is subtle.. perfect!
Incredible trip and I loved watching the whole video. Looking at the beauty of nature brought me happy tears ☺️

Oh my god the more I watch this the more I want to do it myself Even if i am an old Togg !!!!!!!!!!!! How good was this journey in your life ?????????????

I was not surprised the Delhi heat got you head on...but KUDOS to you that was one heck of a trip.

Yes we were close to falling off our bikes in the heat! Luckily we stopped just in time and found a cooler place to recover for a half hour.
Ha ha! Looks like the heat of Delhi was the real adventure!!! Great ride btw. Respect.

People add music to their biking videos.
Your's though was just the natural sound of what a biker goes through the ride. Did these stretches in 2018 on a Versys 650. Watched this video today 13-Oct-2020 and you are now pushing me to go back to the mountains once again.
The mountains have a strong draw.
Thanks, I watched this video with pleasure!
Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Superb!
Outstanding video. The bike truly living up to its name!
It's really the ideal bike for this environment. Riding a modern high performance bike would be extra pucker factor on those cliffs.
