Good to see you back Obi - Wan. I did my shock a couple of years ago when I got my new FFRC piston assembly for the rear shock. When I did mine I just let the nitrogen out with a syringe needle and then I made a custom adapter to go from the syringe needle to a schrader valve. Then I pumped the bladder back up to 165psi with a bicycle suspension pump after the shock was reassembled. The whole job was under $300 and it totally transformed the shock.
Thank you so much... I ordered the syringe / schrader valve combo deal - but it just got here today. My DR650 Brother "SCOOB" gave me the thoughts on the "C" Clamp - and I thought I would try it. - Maybe it can help someone.... Never, ever saw that in a video HAHA 🙂 And I got ya - Scoob & I are doing both the front & the rear at the same time - Under 500 bucks for both !!!
FRANK !!! - Thanks for watching - my (entire) RUclips involvement has been minimal at best. Watching, creating, and commenting are at an all time low right now. Just my new job, sitting at a computer all day. Cheers Mate.... + my GoPro broke about 6 months ago, and simply can't afford to replace it just yet.... In time though 🙂
@@verbalwidget7267 Dear God LOL !!!!! Front end done - Will try & finish the rear today - with the exception of the Nitrogen.... Then I'll put it back together 🙂
Very nice OBI-WAN , shocks seem like voodoo magic but it’s very straight forward. AEO powersports refills shocks near you if you don’t already have someone. Great to see you on TV again. 🎉
Dane ... This is some good stuff! And only 110 degrees😅. I think it's great that you decided to tackle this job. I didn't think I'll be rebuilding shocks any time soon but still interesting to watch. 🤗👌💜
JODY & TommyG !!!!! - Definitely not Spyder material - but thanks for watching. Just some tips & tricks that may end up helping someone else 🙂 Cheers !!!!
Thank you for watching & the advice. I do not have anything like that. After watching the guys in the links listed below, I figured I would try a small screwdriver, like they did... Definitely tricky, but can be done. If I have to do that again - I will get a pair of those... trust me 🙂 Cheers !!!
AIR TIME RICK THE STUD !!!! - Thanks man - and it's not that bad actually. So many good video's out there (some linked below) but hell, If I can do it - anybody can - I just got handy man tools haha... Cheers Mate !!!
"PACOPETE" !!!! - Nice to hear from you !!! - The short answer is "not at this time"... The new piston & shim-stack for the rear is designed for my weight with the stock spring & 5wt fork oil. That said, I can go to a stiffer spring if I wish - as the additional/different shims come with the kit. I have been told, for the kind of riding I do, I should be very pleased....
@@verbalwidget7267 Dave - so sorry for the delay - busy, busy, busy.... "FFRC" - FRONT & REAR - PLEX VALVES (FRONT) AND NEW PISTON / SHIM STACK (REAR) Supposedly custom built for my weight & riding style. Stock Springs (for now) and 5 wt oil... No matter what, supposed to be a huge improvement over stock...

SPAZTECH !!!!! - Haha - and thanks for watching... I should have put a message at the beginning - "NO RIDING OR CAMPING" 🙂
Adding to the list of things I need when I grow up: a decent vice
Good stuff, Obi-Wan!

Thanks Dane. I do follow Dino. It's a great channel. But nothing beats the mighty Obi-Wan.
HAHA - THANKS ROB !!!! HE IS WAY BETTER THAN I WILL EVER BE :-)
That goes without saying. YT should be giving Dane a huge monetary kickback on his good looks and wit alone.

Nice work. Are you upgrading anything, such as the spring? 🍻
