In SMAS, you no longer have to worry about getting an unintended Game Over for turtle-tipping in Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (or Super Mario Bros. 2 for the FDS), because the lives counter has been changed to stop at exactly 128 lives.

    - In 1985, the Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan & North America & in 1987 in Europe. It features Mario & Luigi as playable characters. In 1993, Super Mario All-Stars was released in Japan & North America & in 1994 in Europe as well as the rerelease of this game. The SNES remake has updated graphics & colors as well. The max number of lives is 128 instead of items. You can save at anytime you want. In 1999, the Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was released in North America & then same year in Europe & Worldwide & it was released in 2000 in Japan. Only one difference between 8-Bit versions is Luigi. Also the GBC game has Yoshi Egg Challenge, You vs. Boo mode & For Super Players (which is The Lost Levels). The GBC has screen crunch which means it’s hard to see.
    - In Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels, the game was released only in Japan until 1993/1994 with the remake of Super Mario All-Stars. In 1999, the Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was released in North America & then same year in Europe & Worldwide & it was released in 2000 in Japan. Sadly, the secret levels isn’t in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Speaking of secret levels, if you beat the game 8 times (the warps will work as well), you will unlock A-D Worlds but for World 9 you need to beat the game warpless. If you warped even the backwards warps you won’t able to play World 9.
    - In Super Mario Bros. 2: USA, the game was released in 1988 (before 2 weeks of Japanese release of Super Mario Bros. 3) as it was based a Japanese game called Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic released in Japan in 1987, it was also rereleased in 1992 but with Mario Characters & in 1989 in Europe. This game has different abilities of characters, Mario is 4-way, Toad is Faster, Luigi is Higher Jump & Peach is Floating (The Slower). In 1993, the remake was released with updated graphics. In 2001, the GBA was launched with Super Mario Advance & it featured Mario Bros (with 4 players added). The Voice characters was added in the GBA version. Luigi & Toad have swapped their color clothes. In the GBA version, the challenge mode is similar to Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for GBC were you have to collect the Yoshi eggs & Ace coins.
    - In Super Mario Bros. 3, the Game was released in 1988 in Japan (2 weeks after the American release of Super Mario Bros. 2), in 1990 in North America & 1991 in Europe. The game features new powerups such as Super Leaf, Frog Suit, Hammer Suit, Tanooki Suit & Goomba’s Shoe. The difference between regions is in Japanese version, when you damaged an enemy (even you have a powerup) you will shrunk to small Mario. In North America & Europe versions, when you damaged an enemy with powerup, you will stay Big Mario. In 1993, the remake was released & it features Battle mode which you have to collect 5 coins. In 2003, the Super Mario Advance 4 was released in worldwide. In the GBA version there is e-reader levels which has 38 levels but unfortunately it was only in Japan. In North America it has a few e-reader levels & Europe didn’t get the e-reader.
    - In Super Mario World, the game was launched in 1990 in Japan with SNES, 1991 in North America & 1992 in Europe. The game features secret exits, Yoshi & Cape Feather. If you damaged an enemy or press select button, the 2nd powerup appears. Yoshi has 4 colors: Green is Nothing, Red is fire, Blue is flying & Yellow is Ground. The game was rereleased as Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World in 1994 in North America & 1995 in Europe. Japan didn’t get the rerelease of Super Mario All-Stars. The only difference between versions is Luigi’s sprite. In 2001, the Super Mario Advance 2 was released in Japan & 2002 in North America & Europe. Again Luigi is also different but this time, Luigi’s sprite was similar to Super Mario Advance. The game has new features such as Peach coins if you collected the Yoshi coins, new cutscenes & you can also choose any levels in the Menu. Yoshi’s arms is fixed in the GBA Version. The max number of lives is 999 (except Advance 1 which is the max of lives is 99).
