    Video length was just right. Stay safe out there - a retired railroader.

    For the record, I'm your biggest fan. Thanks for everything, from driving to buying Arizona gummies for us to throw at 743. Twas a heck of a summer, let's make sure to continue to make plans 🤎

      You’re sadly mistaken my friend, I ain’t wasting those Arizonas, those are the good ones. Now that cereal on the other hand, that can be part of #2 granite for all I care. It was a heck of a summer, when I actually managed to go anywhere, glad we were able to make the most of it brother.👊🏼

    5 trains in just under 2 hours is productive in my books, let alone the double MAC 441 that would make the outing instantly worth it. Great video as always.

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  Год назад

      It was certainly worth it, though none of what happened after 441 was expected in any way. So, it deserved a video of its own. Thanks for watching Richy👊🏼

    Great video, love the content. For M441 and the EMD Duo those locomotives are designated by CSX as SD70AC's also called SD70MACe's. The SD70MAC's are the pre rebuild units while SD70AC's are post rebuild.

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  Год назад +1

      Thank you. The CSX rebuilds are often referred to as either 70AC’s, or 70MAC’s, simply because they’re the ‘AC’ versions of the 70M’s. The SD70MACe was a designation only used by BNSF for their rebuilds, not by CSX.

    • @northcarolinarailfan
      @northcarolinarailfan Год назад

      Just making sure that you know the SD70AC rebuilds are rebuild from already AC traction SD70MAC's. From your wording it sounds like you might think they are rebuilt from the DC Traction SD70M's what where retired by CSX in 2018 and sold to PRLX. While CSX kept there non-flared and flared SD70MAC's for rebuild in the future.

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  Год назад +1

      Yeah, no, I simply meant that the 70MAC’s are the ‘AC’ traction version of the SD70M’s, as people will sometimes ask the difference between those two designations. Note how I said that the rebuild program “takes in the majority of CSX’s SD70MAC’s and gives them new parts and electronics”.

    I hired on when YN2 was the norm. Then YN3, to me perfect C & O.
    YN3 looked like the Employee responsible couldn't think, so he let is five
    year old write it up, it sucked and Corporate bought it.
    Now back to my C & O again praise GOD!
    And correct the Heritage unit debacle, split image, come on!
    CSX has blown away the competition on # of H. units and isn't done yet.

    Great video as always Kota. That trailing MAC 4525 made a few appearances all the way up here in Minnesota on the CP back in 2020. I caught it leading a sand train once which was pretty special considering that’s a pretty rare thing to see all the way up here especially leading. As the 4 class ones that operate up here are BNSF, CP, UP, and CN.

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  Год назад

      Thank You! I believe I actually remember seeing some photos on Facebook of those trains…I’m sure 4525 was somewhere amongst a few. I’m not familiar with the routes they take after they’re interchanged, but I’d imagine y’all could see plenty of CSX power with the phosphate trains we send up that way, such as the B207 we saw.
