So glad I found this video. Several years removed from MTB, building a new bike to refamiliarize myself.... this is a huge help, thanks!

Buying a set of integrated aero bar and stem from DiyCarbon was a huge mistake. First off the bars I received did not match what the site photos looked like. That was okay because they seemed fine. However, the advertised reach was 77mm and I made the mistake of building this bike up including routing new hydraulic brake lines, without measuring it. After the first ride it didn’t feel right and I found the reach was actually 122mm. That’s an entire hand size too long!
I reached out to Ty, the Owner, with photos and his response was that the stem size was correct, but he made no mention of the reach. It seemed like he didn’t actually understand what reach is. I own eight bikes, 4 of those are drop bar bikes and I’ve been riding and racing for over 30 years, I kind of know a little bit about bike sizing a geometry.
I responded a second time with photos using a digital caliper and I still have not heard anything from him. I think I’ve been ghosted and I’m out about $200. So my recommendation is do not order from this company.

the Shimano Deore 1x11 (M5100?) is amazing. set with cranks runs for 150-180€ in Europe. Probably the best Bang for your Buck

Yes we decided since 12 speed cassettes are so affordable now, to only include those from Shimano. Also, the Microspline 11 tends to be lighter and better price than Shimano 11

@@DIYCarbonBikes true for those who already have microspline hubs

This is incredibly helpful and unlike anything else out there. If you do any more content, this detailed step by step is fascinating to a newbie. Probably boring to make. But.

XTR is sweet if you got the budget!! I'm weird, I have been running XTR brakes and Sram XX1 AXS for a while now. I can't give up my Shimano brakes but I also can't give up AXS!

Slx has been my jam since they went to 12 speed. So close to xt, only big difference I feel is the shifter.

Hi, can I change my 8 speed MBT with a front derailer to a 1x 10 speed by watching bike repair videos? I plan on buying the 10 speed groupset to make bike 1x.
