How can I use autotune while I'm recording vocals? The studio I used to go to- we had it that way so I could reference it as I record my vocals. I use abelton live 11. Scarlett.
Hey Reid, quick question about your UAD Console interface: How did you set it up to get 8 Inserts on your Analog 1 Track? I only have 4 Inputs and I don't find an option to increase it. Thank you!
Seasoned engineer here! One thing I never see anyone talk about is immediate playback. Yes, the sauce is being monitored, but when the artist needs immediate playback, they want to hear the same thing. A video explain that might be useful for the folks new to UAD. Just a thought. Peace!
I am having a problem where I cannot turn off the mic I want to use the mic on my Daw on bandlab but I keep hearing the uad console as well how do I turn off the mic for uad console and just hear a bandlab Mic feedback like I want to hear my mic on bandlab but not on the uad console it's like I hear it two voices
Can you print limiting vocals in UA CONSOLE to help control a heavy dynamic performance with the Slate ML1? Will it mess up the VMS mic collection accuracy in your DAW? THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS!
Stupid Question: Are vocals recorded in stereo or mono for modern music? I get confused because when I look at your video I see what looks like a mono recording in the upper track and stereo signal on the lower track.
Hi stefan, How come you have 8 plugin slots on each channel o your console daw, while mine And most video online ppl have just 4 slots. Any help Thank you
Right click above your audio tracks in the top left corner of protools arrangement window, and enable inserts E-H… it sounds like you only have inserts A-D visible
@@ReidStefanMusic First of, thank you for even replying a 2yr old video comment, you the best puppet, no disprespect. My question was your plugin inserts for mic line, increased from 4 slots to 8 slots, even I yu loaded just 2plugins. Is it because your were tracking with LUNA, is that a hidden feature. Thanks once again.
do you get delay on the vocals? like the vocals recording a little behind from the instrumental? i noticed some headphone bleed and it sounded like the beat wasn't at the same time
I have one question. I use the Apollo Twin with Neumann TLM 49. Why I have to rise the mic gain to its maximum and load an pre amp and hit it Hard too, to reach - 20 dB (what is still quite) to hear myself on my headphones?
It only prints the material on the channel itself, not the aux. If that’s your question If you want to print it with the reverb you’d have to run it as an insert and use the dry/wet knob
Is it possible to have autotune as an insert but only for monitoring, and still being able to print the vocal with a chain with a compressor and an EQ?
@@ReidStefanMusic yes, that’s what I usually do with the Avalon unison plug-in, but I was wandering if there’s a way to print a vocal with that, a CL1B and a maag for example…while still being able to use the autotune just for monitoring purpose

Hey stefan, i have the Apollo 4x Thunderbolt, but I don't get any input. It worked on my Macbook, but does not work on my Alienware Area51M- R2 which is Thunderbolt compatible. I can hear output, and watch youtube with the Apollo, but when I want to record nothing gets through. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?
There are only 3 supported PCs that work with Apollo and Alienware isn’t one of them. Windows is generally a hot mess for audio engineer because it doesn’t handle low latency audio well. It’s a huge limitation of the operating system
I use an sm7b with a cloudlifter through an apollo twin x. I can only manage to bring it up to 24db on the preamp before I start to hear the noise floor. Is that normal for other sm7b users?
When I use my SM7b and Apollo I put the input gain all the way up. I don’t have a cloud lifter but I also don’t have noise floor problems even at 100% gain

What if you are singing loud? Would you want to turn it down to prevent clipping? I sometimes have belting and high dynamics in my vocals and always struggle when to have certain levels when going from low to high and vice versa

Hey Reid quick question. Can you make a tutorial on how to make a vocal template on protools? I usually buy presets but I wanted to learn how to make my own vocal template and seeing if you can help 😊🤘🏾
How is your room treated? The TLM 103 needs room treatment to sound good, mine does not sound good in an untreated room, the sound bounces into the mic and it distorts big time.
I used pre fader metering and was peaking at 10 dB, but then unintentionally recorded all my vocals on a track that I put a vocal chain. On those I was peaking around -3 dB. Will my recording be okay?

How do you get 8 FX inserts in apollo console?

UAD recommends hitting -20db - -18db on mic input (after unison slot) btw, this is what their plugins and converters are set to.
-18db on the Interface?? or in the DAW?
@@girolamo5637 if you were to play back your recording in your DAW dry (no effects) it should be around -18 on average.

Could someone tell me why the level meter on UAD console clips while using plug ins (only monitoring), but it doesn't clip on logic
Lots of devices display full volume audio at 0.0dB as “red on the meter” but that doesn’t mean your levels are exceeding 0.0 and actually clipping
I switched from Apollo 8 BLK face to Burl 16 via madi. I love the sound but I do missed this UAD console.
As a frequent vocal engineer, I’d take the Apollo latency free workflow regardless of how much better any other interface sounds 💯
