My dude. I've owned an Apollo Twin for too many moons to not have realized this was how you properly utilize the console app. But, a day where you become less stupid is a better day than the one before it. THANK YOU.
Same here. Put it aside for a long time, but upgraded to a rackmount apollo so didn't have the choice to learn Console. Damn...I beat myself for not doing it earlier. It is SO powerful and great sounding.
I’ve listened to a number of UAD Twin/console explanations and Wayne is the first cat to explain it comprehensibly. It helps to give historic perspective and when he did, it all made perfect sense. He’s also the ONLY cat who explained why the light ring went from green to orange. Gotta get me that “Be Dope” hoodie! 👊🏿
Keep it up my guy u tbeen teaching me for years any and everything I need to know I watch your videos out of all the searching u always have a answer 🙏🏿 man keep up the teachings
I just got the twin as a birthday present literally yesterday and honestly, no disrespect to other interfaces, but now I don’t want to go back to recording without using console!
Love your stuff man!! followed you on instagram as well - keep killing these videos! Keep the logic stuff coming. Would love to see how you setup and run Logic/Apollo Twin together!
Then you realize you sank all that money into something you can't upgrade. Apple went all the way down the rabbit hole and through a big old party there. Too bad they didn't listen to their pro customer base.
Aaron Holder I’ve had my Mac for 5 years and Apple still offers me 75% of what I paid for credit towards a new one, it still runs like new and I could upgrade easy for a very inexpensive price if I wanted to, when I was on PC I had to get a new laptop every 3 or 4 years bc the processing wasn’t powerful enough for new apps, Apple is 100% better value than PC and what you said Is false
Just bought my Apollo twin. this was perfect for helping me understand the routing of UAD to pro tools! thanks bro! hope to see more UAD tutorials from you
Thank you! I have been doing music for ears but never recorded my own stuff. Now that I am learning this was very helpful, still running around like a chicken with my head cut off but falling in love with the process. God bless man!!
Thanks, you answered a nagging concern! I just got my Apollo Twin and I was worried about using my Waves Tune Real Time plug-in at the Pro Tools level while recording with the UAD Console. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
I always feel like I dont have enough gain when I use my uad and use my sound out of UAD instead of the daw. When I'm in daw it sounds good. Good levels. My levels I shoot for is -18. To add volume I turn up compression but it sounds distorted as does my uad unission if I crank it past half way.
Great video my man. Well spoken. Clear and detailed. No fluff. I dig. I'm on the cusp of ordering an X4 myself so getting acquainted with the UA environment.
How can I use my Shure SM7B going into my Apollo twin MK2 quad core for Xbox live party chats and Twitch/Facebook streams? Will a simple trs from Apollo to aux cable into Xbox controller do or do you recommend I purchase the iRig?
Good look Wave... I’ll be picking up the Twin Quad Heritage next week and your mentoring has definitely fulfilled my inquiries in regards to my PT 11... Great Job. I appreciate you.
I didn't like you at the beginning of the video when you was acting sensual but I thought I should endure through and I'm glad I did. Learned a lot from you and you awesome, man! Thanks for this! Make more!
Too stoked to have you helping on here bro. I feel like the UAD has endless amounts of opportunities, just have to know how to run everything correctly! Do you prefer auto-tune in real-time on the Apollo UAD or auto-tune through Pro Tools as a plug-in? Appreciate the advice!
Thanks Wayne! I now know that I don't have to record the pre-amp effects. You know how it is, you record a vocal a few times perhaps and tweak the effects until you get the sound you want. I guess after a few weeks of working on the right pre-amp sound for your vocals, you may commit to audio. I'll be going for the Apollo Solo TB3.
Hey man cool video... I’m just stuck on logic and I’m trying to figure out how to mute in console and hear through logic with my auto tune on the track in logic please lmk🙏🏻🙏🏻
Very good I must admit I though I was the only or first one doing this type virtual chanel strip thingy. UAD did wow..... 'Better to get it right before you start'. Is one of my great philosophy, I do noise gate, dessers and eliminate generally notorious bad frequencies a bit including preamp and compression and BAM the recording can start with all that printed..... But I learn a hard lesson that many or you may not know about all these chanel strip effect before hitting your DAW and how to know for if it's also doing some damaged without you knowing....If you like to know... then ask and it shall be given. But amazing content...you got there...bro...
Hey man your work is immaculate I really appreciate how you put it down when I’m looking for something 98.9% of the time I’m looking for you to find out what’s really going down thanks for all you do man stay safe much love Dr Tracks
Your ass crazy wavy but I wanna say brother I’m proud of you because I did my research bro and u coulda been sold out for pennies but u went ownership to get further . I appreciate u showing us not to give up because wave u has grown a lot big Dawg in all different areas
Man, I love the way you explain things. I've watched a thousand videos looking for specific info and when I get back to my studio I'm still confused because either they went too fast or assumed too much about what hardware and software people might be using. You broke it down clearly and simple like I'm sitting in the studio with you asking questions. Keep that vibe man, but stop dissin' Windows users. LOL. But then again, you STILL came up with the Windows key command. Good stuff! I'm about to check out your IG.
It took me like 6 hours to get the hang of this thing. I got the twin x yesterday and finally found this video i was looking for after I’d already figured it out. Only problem I’m having now is that i keep running out of cpu power cuz I’m used to recording at 64 on my buffer settings. I had to up it to 1024 samples and start monitoring through the console instead of monitoring through pro tools. Other than that it rocks
Thank you wavy Wayne, well done. I'm thinkin' hard about getting one maybe the Twin X soon. Love the concept. I'm an analog old timer, hell you weren't even born yet bro. ha ha great channel :)
Dope 🎥 I use a similar chain in console & the Manley Ref C 🎤 Def running into some serious issues picking up the high end tho - Any De-Essing advice in console while tracking? 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I purchased the Apollo arrow (basically twin) usb and it only includes a few plugins, can you do a video with a good vocal set up using just the included plugins with the arrow?
Nice great can you expand on getting the everything set up for recording and stuff output sounds and inputs. You can use an iPad for second screen if you have one
Hey Wavy Wayne, Hope you got your dual screen! First video explaining this thoroughly where I haven't tuned out. I have a Q... When I'm in logic (I know, not protools lol) I can add my UAD Avalon PreAmp in my channel strip in Logic, so why would I use the console? I am new to the tech side of creating and am just trying to not get my wires too crossed :)
Ay!! I appreciate all the videos man, they're very helpful! I have been using the Apollo Twin for sometime and gotten great results, but wanting to go to the next level to record with compression. I also use the Neve as my preamp. I don't do much, just take about 50Hz. The mic I use is the Neumann TLM 102. Do you have any direction or tips on how to set up compression? Much love! Thanks for all you do!
Do you think the Uad arrow is enough for vocal recording only? im just worried that there is not enough dsp (im new so i just want to use some reverb and antares auto tune and a preamp) i dont know if i should add more than that? what do you think
That’s definitely enough for vocal recording. Mixing is another beast. But the goo thing is that you can link UAD interfaces for the DSP and inputs. So you can get that and upgrade later.
Definitely a question that has nothing to do with this video.. But, Could you please tell me where you get some of your favorite Drum Kits. I really like the sound of your kicks.
My dude. I've owned an Apollo Twin for too many moons to not have realized this was how you properly utilize the console app. But, a day where you become less stupid is a better day than the one before it. THANK YOU.
Lol 😂 I like this A lot

Same here. Put it aside for a long time, but upgraded to a rackmount apollo so didn't have the choice to learn Console. Damn...I beat myself for not doing it earlier. It is SO powerful and great sounding.
this man just did a whole masterclass and you didn't even have to pay for it. amazing

Man I discovered your channel on Sunday and now I'm stuck in your rabbit hole lol. These vids are so fun and helpful!!!

Rock music guy here.... this is one of the best run downs on the console I have seen, cool channel! Subbed
Aye, Wayne this was one of the best UA Console vids I could find, Plus the jokes + intellectual convo gives it bonus points.
Bro you fasho got my pro tools and UAD knowledge right ✊🏾💯
“ If you’re on pc get a Mac “ 🤣🤣🤣
Then you realize you sank all that money into something you can't upgrade. Apple went all the way down the rabbit hole and through a big old party there. Too bad they didn't listen to their pro customer base.
@@aholder4471 I'm still running on 2012 mac mini. Havent needed to upgrade anything lol. Runs my studio great.

Just bought my Apollo twin. this was perfect for helping me understand the routing of UAD to pro tools! thanks bro! hope to see more UAD tutorials from you
Great video brother! Thanks for sharing. One of the most informative and user friendly to a UAD beginner that I've seen.
Thank you! I have been doing music for ears but never recorded my own stuff. Now that I am learning this was very helpful, still running around like a chicken with my head cut off but falling in love with the process. God bless man!!
Thank You WavyWayne!! I just went with The Apollo Twin and Apollo 16 Love it!
This man real life funny 😅. Appreciate the work you do 🙌

Thanks, you answered a nagging concern! I just got my Apollo Twin and I was worried about using my Waves Tune Real Time plug-in at the Pro Tools level while recording with the UAD Console. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
One of your best presentations and definitely one of the best Console tutorials. Well done!
Seriously
Thank you for your help, Wavy Wayne
what if u just add the pre amp plugin directly on recording track ? its same
Fam your video quality is amazing! Would love to find out more about your setup.
Ditto man!!
A man I appreciate your post. By far one of the best on using UAD Console. Peace!
Nice work doog. You are a good teacher.

does the "UAD Rec / UAD Mon" buttons effect the unison slot as well? Or does that only apply to the insert slots under the unison slot?
Good look Wave... I’ll be picking up the Twin Quad Heritage next week and your mentoring has definitely fulfilled my inquiries in regards to my PT 11...

It’s great.
You are dope bro. Do you think you could run through a tutorial of how to use the 1073 preamp properly? And maybe the 610-b if you use that also?

Try M1 MacBook Pro. No more CPU issues for a good while.
After you record with the compressor , do you compress after again or just eq?
I comress again
Thank you wavy Wayne, well done. I'm thinkin' hard about getting one maybe the Twin X soon. Love the concept. I'm an analog old timer, hell you weren't even born yet bro. ha ha great channel :)
You think you can do more videos about using UA hardware? & UAD plug-in? I just got the twin idk wtf I’m doing 😂😂
great video, ive watched several on the topic. this one gets right to the meat and potatoes. thank you.
How many plugins does the UAD TWIN DUO comes with?
