I have a mother that is a certified Grade-A narcissist, BECAUSE I live in Iowa, which is NOW a filial support state ONLY BECAUSE they are also a state that did not expand medicaid-medicare-SNAP over the last few years... look up to see if your state is a filial support state b/c if your state expanded medicaid, usually (can sometimes be both) that state is not a filial support state... HOWEVER, if your elderly narcissist is unable to pay for a nursing care facility, social security may also come into play, BUT... be careful b/c IF AT ANY TIME YOU ARE LISTED AS POA, you could be on the hook... THIS IS WHY LAWYERS ARE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD :D ((fun fact: Iowa used to NOT be a filial support state b/c Iowa used to have a hearty social safety net, but the political climate shifted to where people resented poor people/elderly/disabled folks getting medical-nursing-facility care... so, they repealed medicaid-medicare-SNAP... ONLY LATER DID OUR GOVERNMENT REALIZE PEOPLE WERE ABANDONING THEIR NARCISSISTIC PARENTS TO THE STREETS (lol) AND THE STATE WAS LIKE, WE ALSO DON'T WANT TO CARE FOR YOUR SHITTY PARENTS!! (lol), so...
