    Hey Jordan, do you allow or even teach your beginners (white/blue belts) to use leg locks? I find that some bjj gyms aren’t too fussed about it as long as you’re being safe and other gyms will lose it if you even twist the knee a little. Great video! Looking forward to that leg lock tutorial you mentioned in a community post.

    • @JordanTeachesJiujitsu
      @JordanTeachesJiujitsu  11 месяцев назад +2

      Yepp at my gym leg locks are taught to everyone. I don't teach a lot of leg locks in my classes but we do have one instructor who does as he's big into leg locks just like Harry.
      I think it's fine because the expectation is always to apply submissions safely. Teaching beginners what's safe and what isn't is better than ignoring a whole category of submissions imo.
      I'll make that video real soon! Gotta film some more rolls with the leg lockers at my gym to make it!

    One thing I dislike about ‘leg lockers’ is that it’s the only thing they fixate on. So many elite competitors now are very good at leg lock defenses that if he can’t get a leg lock they look lost or are just very deficient at other attacks.
    Take Gordon for example, lost to Pena twice cause leg lock was the only thing he was going for. Now Gordon changed his game to be way more diverse and is unstoppable (that plus lotta PEDs).

      Bernardo definitely got the better of our we did together, although he didn't tap me. If I ever get tapped I'll post it. Some people think I only post rolls that make me look good, but I actually am good, and it's not my fault I do well in the rolls lol. Imo I can hang with the best guys in the world, but likely can't beat them. If I dedicated myself to competion training, maybe that would change. Maybe it wouldn't though. I just don't have the motivation/desire to do that either way. I've got 3 kids, 2 gym's, a RUclips channel and already have spent years competing and have done well.
