I've competed, a few months after getting my blue belt.
I wanted to have that experience, of rolling with people that are not trying to be friendly XD
There were only two matches, and I won them both. It was, very likely, one of the hardest things I ever did physically.
It felt like my adversaries were actually trying to squeeze the life out of me. But in the end I had the day.
Not something I want to do again, anytime soon. Perhaps, once I reach purple belt.
I'm too old for this shit, haha. And I really don't have the time to train extra every day in order to prepare for competition (a month prior to the the competition, I got up earlier every day, and practiced daily in order to get in shape).
I tell anyone that wants to hear it: enter a competition at least once. It's a whole different ball game.
It's just not for me, past 45. I want to do BJJ for the fun of it. I'm a full time hobbyist, haha.

I love how humble Jordan is. This was his first competition in a awhile, and he just took on a 10th planet black belt tat outweighed him by 30 lb., and handily won the match. Even the way Jordan walked off the matt after winning was really cool. He sort of just gave a thumbs up and didn't jump up and down the way you see MMA fighters do. I wonder just how good Jordan is? He spared with Bernado Faria in a video not so long ago, and Jordan said "he got his butt kicked", his words not mine, but Bernando is one BJJ legends & Bernardo isn't really that old either.
Personally I can't wit to Jordan compete against the high-level guy at ADCC.

Seems you out wrestled him standing up, really set the pace and tone of the match. I'm Really surprised with that slick roll at the end. You Made this look easy and I can tell you as a heavyweight myself, I've been submitted many times by this guy. He is no slouch. I'm probably the most muscular and strongest guy at my gym. I competed some 5 times as a white belt. Lost all in first round, heh. It's a pretty tough sport to come to when you have no athletic background and are a bit older than most newbies.
It's really the stand up portion where I lose matches. Not enough patience, skill and cardio to keep the fight standing for longer so I can win a dominant position from the get-go. Basically every time I lost the match in the stand up phase.
I'm a blue now and haven't yet competed, I know I'd be trashed so I have to really work on my game before I dare to compete again.

I have considered competing again but, in all honesty, I just don’t see myself as a competitor. I don’t have any sort of a killer instinct, I’m just someone who enjoys training and understanding the art. I’m a brown belt now and I almost feel like it would be disrespectful to pretend I’m going in there to be a killer or a world champion.
Glad I did it once but it wasn’t something I had fun doing.
