I love how things always work flawlessly in tutorials. But then, you download an STL file to follow along, and Inventor suddenly gives you error message after error message without providing a way to fix the errant model.
Not too crazy about this program.

Hey, I find this video very useful. If this area is still monitored. I would love to know how can you take a 3d scan stl file and plane the surfaces. Is this possible with inventor?

Thanks for leaving a comment! The 3D-to-CAD workflow is generally pretty challenging, and would require some more explanation, so feel free to reach out to support@ketiv.com. However, if you're only trying to import an STL into Inventor, there are various import options that accommodate surface as well as some complementary derive functions which could output surface bodies from existing solid geometry.
