- Опубликовано: 21 окт 2024
- This episode the Endurance finally arrives at Valentine and performs a survey of its exoplanets.
Kerbol is dying. Thousands of years after first venturing into space, Kerbalkind finds itself on the brink of extinction. On a newly terraformed Duna, it rests on the shoulders of a single space agency to reach for the stars once more and find a new home.
Beyond Kerbol is a career mode series following on from Endurance and set in the After Kerbin planet overhaul. The aim is to assemble a vast fusion powered spacecraft to colonise another solar system and save Kerbalkind. The game is in version 1.7.3 and uses the Making History and Breaking Ground expansions.

The Kerbal space Agency has released a press statement on the Morning star mission. It reads; "The Morning star mission has been extended for a minor detour to Eltos, which should only take about a decade. The crew are going on this detour entirely voluntarily and definetly not because we took their families hostage and gave the crew the choice between not seeing their kids grow up and not seeing their kids again at all."
The kerbals HAVE families to threaten?

Everybody's gonna be amazed at interstellar travel in KSP 2, then Beardy Penguin's gonna be like: Yep, seen it all before
KSP 2 stock is probably going to be easy mode, it will likely need realism overhaul mods to stay interesting.
Console players:
*Am I a joke to you?*
@@r3dp9 Its the same with ksp 1 too though i mean its all too hard for me but for the more skilled players if you’re not doing crazy challenges only realism overhaul and rss is interesting

Seeing how you build your Interplanetary Manned Spacecraft, I can't even imagine what a cool design you'll create for an Interstellar Colony Ship!
When you get morning star back home you should refuel it and auto pilot it into Archangel like Battlestar Galactica.
TheDamoose85 Yes
YEEESSSS!!!
An interesting fact about Solyth beardy, is that at some point in the past the planet used to be teeming with life and then some extinction event wiped out all life on the planet leaving behind just a barren desert planet, the hint remaining of the past living organisms is the rather rich oxygen atmosphere that was left behind by the animals of the plate before they got extinct. Pretty interesting once u read about the celestial bodies of valentine
I would really like to learn more about Kerbals biology, it is amazing how they can travel for such a long time in space and always being so happy! Definitely my favorite KSP series and the best KSP youtuber.
Kerbal love space this why they are still happy
Hey Beardy! Just want to say thank you for continuing the series, it means a lot to this community. Also, your work has inspired me to embark on downloading these mods (and hoping my game stll works) Can't wait for more content. On behalf of everyone here, Thank you!
This is like my new favorite series do more keep up the good work
You are one of the best KSP youtubers, keep at it!
Dude, big thanks for giving all the details regarding game version etc. PERFECT!
Just wanted to say thank you for uploading new episodes of this amazing series so frequently.
I cant wait to see all of the colony ship modueles and rigs. Amazing series, I love this series! You're doing fantastic job, small light of hope and fun in those grim times, it had bringed me so much joy watching it.
This series is so good the wait is a literal pain
If I may, perhaps call the colony ship 'Horizon' as it is the beginning of the unknown, alternatively, 'Dawn' or 'Dawnbringer' as it represents the the 3rd age of space exploration. My final suggestion for a name is more simple, 'Era', to describe, or benchmark the new age.
Also, one last one that just came to me, 'Vanguard' meaning the very first or beginning group to do something (or the 'Trailblazer', no. 1, for the same reason as 'Vanguard', but no. 2, trailblazer, blazer, fire, star, interstellar?)
Just a few suggestions.
To shorten it, here's a list;
Horizon
Dawn/ Dawnbringer
Era
Vanguard/Trailblazer
You're welcome for the support. Thank you for continuing to make my favorite KSP series!
I wonder if there was any cross contamination on the rover between the three oceans that you visited?
Probably ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@TheBeardyPenguin The docking bay for them is exposed to vacuum, so probably not.
ABSOLUTELY CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT EPISODE! I have really wanted to see the interstellar colony ship for a long time now, I just can't wait!
I just bingewatched this entire series from Endurance Ep. 1...
It was upwards of 7 hours at 2x playback speed...
It was glorious.
Fun factoid: Deemo has oxygen. However, the atmosphere itself is basically the equivalent of pure chlorine gas.
I love this series way too much.
The last flag on Kerbin should say, "WE WERE HERE."
Finally you've arrived in the valentine system keep up the good work
You should make a floating colony on the ocean when you run put of land
Ok so I discovered your channel a short bit ago because I was in a bit of a KSP mood. And I’ve just binge watched all of endurance. I’m now beginning to start on this series but I just wanted to say that I think this is all rather neat. Might even check out that Kerbol Rising that half the comment section on the endurance videos is throwing a hissy fit about. All that aside, cheers!
Me too, bud.
This is absolutely amazing series. I've watched it from the start! Thank you so much for all the episodes and I look forward to future ones!
Kolonization ship building stream would be awesome to see!
14:02 reminds me of the landers in Kerbal Rising R.I.P
In my playthrough with similar mods I constructed my Daedalus ship in pieces. Launching that engine was fun to say at least... Currently on 8th launch, 2 more to go. Moral of the story? Build your stuff in orbit kids!
How do you get it to be structurally stable? I just build a space station with space for 18 kerbals in career mode (normal game). If I accelerate it begins to wobble a bit.
@@WetPig Honestly mate, I have so many mods that I don't even know. But the wobble was one of the reasons I had forsaken the original game and went full crazy with mods.
EDIT: Took a look into Ckan for you and the mod that should be responsible for better integrity is Kerbal Joint Reinforcement Continued.
Absolutely in love with the series Beardy, keep them coming!
I keep forgetting how huge the sun actually is now... The way it looks on Eltos, still very big and imposing. But scatterer just makes it sooo much better to look at. Amazing sunset! I would like you to have a base here, this place is beautiful and safe, but whatever, you are going further away, so good luck!
This is top tier content. Love binge watching this
This has been a great series. I have KSP but never would I have done so much. I barely get outside my own system before getting bored. Going to nearly all the planets, and then exploring outside your solar system is pretty impressive. Seeing you colonize another Sol System is pretty epic. Sad the game does not let you build real buildings and tera form. Setting up a permanent colony that then turns into normal life would be amazing. Maybe KSP 2 will give the tools to really transform a planet rather than just land and harvest science(maybe resources depending on mods).
Woo hoo! Another episode! I love this whole series.
Hot Jool? No, Carolina Reaper!
The valentine system is awesome, if someone made a planet pack set in this system that would be amazing
These are the voyegers of the star ship enterprise. In their 5 year mission, to seek out new live and civilization. To boldly go where no man has gone before!
I really enjoy watching this series you are making beardy! Some days it really inspires me to go and play the game!
Good luck filming the rest of this as i know larger ships do like to dip the framerate XD
So excited to making kerbals interstellar, great job! I'd love if you include footage of building the interstellar ship if you can
I'm so exited for the next few episodes
Eltos seems quite habitable, i wonder if a branch of colonists might stake their home there while most of kerbalkind sails to the stars...
Nah, it won't be habitable for very long
Mir is a perfect place for Winter Olympics :)!
yeah boy, valentime!
sorry for the question but if this is the lastest version of ksp how did u manage to install the mods?
i couldn't install scatterer for 1.9.1
@James Dabney ah
10:03 light mode be like
Keeps up tha good work you deserve 1 million subs have a good day
18:24 their families certainly would.
Some of the vehicles you may need for the interplanetary mission would be a space plane, a rover, a submarine, and a large mobile base
Well he's already proved the concept of a Rover/Sub... sooooo why not a Spaceplane/submersible mobile base which is also an SSTO?
Daniel Ross yeah something like that makes sense
So Mir is Hoth?
HOTH BASE! HOTH BASE! HOTH BASE!
How the hell do you get there, I don’t know how to get to another star system without pointing a ship with a warp drive at it and firing… is it the same with a normal engines?
I'm not aware how this works with After Kerbin, but in stock+Extrasolar outside of the Valentine system I got a small planet named Teeko, iirc on about 5x higher orbit around Kerbol than Eeloo...
So it might be that you did not, in fact see all of the Kerbol system yet...
I thought of a funny ending for this series. So the Valentina galaxy explodes but the kraken reverted time to before kerbin. I know this is not going to happen but I think it would be funny.
14:30 - Beardy this series is by far the one that I most get excited for a new episode. One of the best series on youtube as far as I am concerned. PLEASE keep this career going... Please keep exploring new stars! And Please consider researching FTL after what you would feel is a long enough waiting period. I want you to be the first president of the United Federation of Kerbalised Planets ;)
Hey beardy idea for you. You could make a war series about these Kerbals if you make different colonies on the different planets of valentine. Just a idea I thought was cool.
I waited like 6 months for this
Can I just mention that an atmosphere with 60% oxygen content would kill you from oxygen poisoning. Too much O2 can kill.
Electric_Bagpipes yes but the atmosphere is much thinner, so it’s breathable. Back in the Apollo days they used 100% oxygen atmospheres at 20% pressure and they were just fine
you should see if you could drain some of the oceans on Fust
Would it be at all possible to put together a .zip folder or some kind of package for these mods? I'm having a hell of a time getting them to work together.
Any suggestions are also appreciated.
Can't do it, breaks the mod licences.
@@TheBeardyPenguin Ah well thanks anyway. I managed to get the USI stuff working but good lord I have a lot to learn
El Poncho Zoido Giaccometti I’d recommend Mark Thrimm’s tutorials for learning USI, they helped me a lot
Solyth looks like Kharak from Homeworld
I want to see then you design the modules that you are sending. It would be nice if you could "in the moment" explain that you are thinking and then have it fast forward with post commentary to then the thing is built.
Yey im finally here early
you should observe another star for exoplanets and redirect Endurance there
It has literally zero fuel, it's gonna coast for the rest of eternity now
If ksp 2 will be this cool, thats already awesome. Unfortunatelly the hype is massive and I expect it will be better. :( I hope they make it worthy.
Hey Beardy, you going to be making any space stations or space elevators in the new system? I think that would be EPIC! Also, for the Anch-To like planet, could you maybe make floating cities later on? That would solve the problems of crowded space.
The interstellar ship will definitely be repurposed as an orbital construction station. As for space elevators, those are impossible in KSP.
I do actually have early plans for a floating colony in the upper atmosphere of one of the gas giants though.. I don't think that's ever been done before!
If you call the colony ship sidonia you will have my undying loyalty
You should take the rover to valentine.
You should add a cities mod to make the planetary environment less boring
Wait...if oxygen content is around 60% isn't the atmosphere like....highly flammable?
This is a common misconception, oxygen is not flammable.
I know gameslinx wasn't trying to be realistic, but if the planets had temperatures that actually made sense, Eltos would be smack-dab in the middle of the habitable zone, and Solitude should be... an airless lava world. Maybe the home planet should have been Eltos...
I never wanted to even attempt to go interstellar, but my mans is setting up a self-sufficient colony
Happy Easter
Use parts of The Morningstar in one of the future spaceships!
All of the parts on it are obsolete at this point, and my interstellar ship is all going to be built in one go.
I would love to see you exploring the GamesLinx's Beyond Home planet pack. It cloud be an alternative reality where the kerbals ran of to the Tempus System instead.
I agree the tempest system is extremely interesting imo
It is but after kerbin is also made by gameslinx. Perhaps we will have to see what he does after he will colonise valentine.
@@lucamortola4892 Looks like Beyond Home is a direct sequel to After Kerbin. You can even explore the fallen Kerbol System. It makes a lot of sanse if Beyond Home were the Beardy's next series.
@@DaviMoreira1123 don get me wrong, beyond home IS the sequel of after kerbin. Infact in the description of dinasty ( i know because i play it) there is written that it was the last homeworld of the kerbals in the kerbol system (solitude). Perhaps who knows, valentine might be Fate, and one day will fly close to destiny forming a binary system and new planets.
@@lucamortola4892 It would be very cool
Finally!
I so hate that Kopernicus isn't updated to 1.9... I am rn using your mod list in my 1.9 playthough, but I won't get Interstellar if the planet packs aren't in
Now lets wait the ingame time for the data to travel the light(how far)
Yes! im so excited

Fun fact: azulberie warp druve is scientifically possible that is if we find exotic matter
Its called alcubierre but otherwise yes
That's a much bigger IF than most people seem to realise..

That is IF exotic matter exists, IF exotic matter is reachable without already having exotic matter, IF exotic matter can be manipulated with normal matter, IF exotic matter doesn't decay too quickly to be useful, IF exotic matter is exotic enough to bend space sufficiently...
@@r3dp9 exactly. It's like saying that time travel IS possible, you just have to build a time machine.
How many planes did you contaminate now now beardy hahahahah
Shouldn't a planet with microbial life be a bad candidate for a colony? because there could be alien bacteria and viruses that kerbals have no immunity for?
Nahh Kerbals are pretty resilient :P

Anyone know what version he is using?
Allstuff AtoZ read the description?
TheBeardyPenguin Thanks. I miss things easily.
Are you going to use the Bifrost array again for the colony ship?
No, the Daedalus engine can power itself
@@TheBeardyPenguin wouldn't using the bifrost array help save on delta-v for the initial burn to Valentine? Yes, its nowere near what a Daedalus can do, but considering this is a one way trip, saving every shred of fuel for future use would be a good idea, no?
Or if not on the colony ships, add a dozen more satellites to the constellation, and use it for any sort of cargo ship you send either ahead of the colony ship or after the colony ship launches...
Hell, you could use the array to send more colonists on dedicated sleeper ships that have no purpose other than to move Kerbals around, and use the colony ship to send them onto their destination colonial outpost...
Lazurkri the Daedalus engine is the most powerful and efficient engine I have, and it can power itself.. There is no way for the bifrost array to help. As for expanding it, do you have any idea how long it took just to build it!?

I will send you a challenge:
You can make a 1st vangard trip to make infrastructure, etc how you want, BUT
the big fleet (its gonna be easier 5-10 big ships tan 1 ginormus, I guess) has to be realistic, that means, NO DEEP FREEZE (in real life you cant freeze any more than single cells and its a low chance of surviving) and it would be cool if you make it "anti-interstellar drag/micro meteorites" (long, skinny, shielded, fuel tanks in the front a beam transmitter sucking power as "poit defense"). The first ship I think you make as you want because I think its impossible without the beam core antimatter or any other advanced antimatter thinggy (mabe kerbstein/zpinch with a really shitty mass ratio/staging?).
If you send kerbals realistically to Valentine with no warp, no singularity and no freeze (no clarketeck, in general) you would be the first to do it that Ive seen in the Internet.
And it would be a great feat. ;D good luck if you try it...
nice
4:29 that would be toxic, oxygen is poisonous in high amounts.
bra gaming the atmospheric pressure is 0.6 atm so no, it wouldn’t be
Valentine
Why not keep the mustang and use it for future missions? Would also be a cool way to get all your kerbals back to solitudes surface when you get there
Morning Star is gonna need every last drop of delta v to get back home, couldn't afford to bring it back
@@TheBeardyPenguin gotcha. As awesome as that would be, gotta make sure the kerbals make it back safely
Can anyone provide all ships' statuses?
Are you going to name the ship Nauvoo?
i just wondered… why valentine? isnt there another star in the interplanetary pack? why not at least scout that out too?
There's only one star in Extrasolar and I couldn't be bothered to visit more than one
@@TheBeardyPenguin hm... I seem to remember a bright blue one... Oh well, maybe a different one
I've got to say that all of those 'colonial prospects' are marginal to say the least, at least without some kerbalforming work first. The ones that make my hair rise are the ones with high oxygen levels. I don't know if KSP's simulation of planetary environments is this complex but, IRL, high-Oxygen worlds are lethal too. Flipping a light switch in those environments would create a planetary firestorm that would consume all the free hydrogen and carbon in the environment!
That one with the microbe-dominated atmosphere is a bit dangerous too, from an IRL perspective. Certainly no-one could go out without sealed pressure suits and all the colony domes would need air filters to stop something that could consume a kerbal alive got into the shirtsleeves environment.
the high o2 one would only burn the flammable things nearby. If the atmo had both significant O2 and H2, or o2 and methane, etc, then lightning would have ignited it all by now.
How about a floating colony.
I'm actually planning to have a floating colony in the upper atmosphere of Heba, I need it in order to harvest helium 3 and deuterium to power my fusion reactors.
I'm not sure anyone has ever made a floating colony in a gas giant before!
Oh heck yes! IT'S TIME FOR O'NEILL CYLINDERS BABEH
You spoil us
wait, are all these tidally locked?
If you're asking about Valentine's planets then no, they aren't
Some of them have reeaaalllyy long days though, I think Fust's is almost as long as its year.
