For the eagfle-eyed geeks and nerds amongst you, freeze frame @ 34-33, and is that an Albion fan you see through the net, to the left of No. 11's hand? He's got dark hair, wearing glasses, white shirt and dark jacket BUT he's not jumping for joy celebrating the fourth WH goal, no happy face at all as he turns to his left is the smaller figure of a younger lad, maybe his brother? Everyone else is going nuts, haha, lol.
Okay so how do we go from playing on this lovely looking pitch to the 1970's when sloppy cut up cabbage fields was the norm. Had the weather become unusually wet or something?
The tightest goals anywhere. Great ground & fans & atmosphere. The Liverpool games were always great.
I love watching old football when a new stand is being built 🙂
Great players on both teams
RIP Upton Park a great away day but a bit hairy at times!
Limited crowd to only 38,000. They squeezed them in back then
Even back in 1980,when it was nearly all standing, we got 40,000 at Fratton Park, Portsmouth.
I've never seen Clive Thomas in black and white (television - his uniform was always black and white)...
Clive Thomas was one of the worst referees, at that time, he used to give a free-kick for the silly things, but not for bad tackles!

Anyone ever noticed how much Martin Peters looks like Syd Barrett from a slight distance?

It was August.....wait till november
@@randybackgammon890 True. Which beggars the question 'why arrange the season so we miss the good weather?'
Only A Few Weeks, At The Same Ground, I Saw West Ham 2 Spurs 2...It Rained All Day, But Magnificent Game !
Future Seattle Sounder Geoff Hurst.
Compared to West Ham's new "London Stadium"? That new stand cost next to nothing, lol.
Weeks wages..
No action replays..
Godawful music!!
Fifty four years have flown. 🫣
£180,000 for a grandstand - that wouldn't pay for a dug-out now
