"for those watching on black & white receivers there is a similarity... Crystal Palace are wearing the shirts with a black ring around the neck and arms and the top of the stockings".. Cheers for that Brian...😄
Yeah, with ghosting, snowing & many TV's still on 400+ lines & 620ish lines giving better definition & colour TVs costing a fortune, most people as I did rented TVs as it had all these valve things that blew up. TV sets was a living thing, part of the family to me & you'd put on top of it family photographs or a special ornament (what did you put on top of your TV?) & like Radio Luxembourg reception, it had a personality that I miss now.
Oh, the start of this lets some light in on magic. They're using the LWT on screen clock in lieu of the usual countdown clock showing this was recorded in the morning rather than going out live.
@ 37-20...that's a great shot of Stan Horne at No. 4 for Fulham, he was their first black/mixed race player (first also for Man City, played well) and the second for Aston Villa. Best shot i've seen of him. But he made no impact in this game, I wonder if he struggles for fitness, maybe injury prone. What did Fulham fans think of him?
"Eh mind o Gillie" ( I remember Gillie ) was something older fans of Dundee FC would say . Alan Gilzean grew up in a town just 4 miles from where I grew up in Perthshire, he was a real local hero in this neck of the woods when I was a kid .
@@dlamiss Yeah,I remember him well. As a LIverpool fan I was glad when we signed John Barnes who played alongside Ross Jenkins at Watford and supplied a fair few of his goals. That probably didnt help Ross much though.
The Music alone takes you back to this era haha, extreme Combovers and side burn central..Superb
More full big match programnes from this year please thank you for all you do
Wow, classic episode, Georgie Best hat-trick. Love this channel ❤🙏
A more skilful, all round player than Ronaldo.
@@orwellboy1958 , by a million miles
@@orwellboy1958 Very true when it comes to natural skill, ability and talent Ronaldo is not in the same class.

Ralph Coates' combover falls to bits 5 min in .....priceless.
Iconic music, The iconic Brian Moore, The iconic Big match on a Sunday afternoon.
IMHO West Ham United's Away Kit Fantastic ! ...... Years Ahead Of What Was Around At The Time.
Cyril Knowles gets booked for a high kick at Kember's head, Brian Moore says, 'That's a little unfortunate for Knowles' , how times have changed. LOL.
His follow up comment was worse!
More great 70s footage, including "the best from Best".
one of George's best ever goals, from a scouser too....untouchable
I remeber this era so well as a tween..Brian Moore obviously has some real affection for this Spurs team..

1971 footy, for 3 years it was rockin', no yobs rioting, just Leeds Utd fighting on all fronts.
Some rare footage in those opening titles - Spurs after winning a trophy for one !!
George Best on song was a thrilling watch.
Must have been one of Kembers last games for Palace first time round
Gilzean was a class act
"Eh mind o Gillie" ( I remember Gillie ) was something older fans of Dundee FC would say . Alan Gilzean grew up in a town just 4 miles from where I grew up in Perthshire, he was a real local hero in this neck of the woods when I was a kid .
Happy days.
Got the feeling there wasn’t much love for George Best from Brian Kidd. Don’t know if that was the case.
Was that the same Ross Jenkins that did so well at Watford
Yes. He began his career there.
@@skintslots cheers, was prolific in the lower divisions

ATV covering Swindon even though Swindon was and is in the HTV west region
Huw Johns had some patch didn`t he?
Yeah, but normally it would be a Midland football club playing away at say Swindon in whatever Division.
@@seltaeb9691 Cheers
Swindon was in the ATV region too, regulars on The Central Match in later years. Central had an office at the County Ground
One of those town twixt two ITA regions and transmitters . See also Brighton and Luton.
19 mins. Police Sargent smoking a pipe on duty watching the Spurs!
Ralph Coates at Spurs and Peter Noble at Swindon....Burnley were obviously offloading their balding players XD
Cheers for the upload
This was my first Fulham away game aged 5, 51 years later still going to games, COYWs 🤍🖤
