@engineering facts inverter technology is the same but there are differences in their performances bro. Brands like LG has many models and its output, input power varies accordingly. So there is a chance that reconnect being a low budget inverter Ac, consumed more power. You can try d similar experiment with premium brands and let us know if there is no such differences. If there is really no such difference in power consumption btw non inverter and inverter ac, then y such innovation should take place bro
Great content! But the key difference here is the ambient temperature that is directly proportional to how long the compressor has to run. The inverter AC compressor has to run longer to keep the room temperature at 28 degrees in hot daylight when compared to the normal temperature of 28 degrees at night. So I believe this is not the right comparison though I really appreciate the efforts
In reality yes indeed it took less current in night time i tested the same recently since i have both normal and inverter ac but the difference was negligible. The difference compared to day and nght time was around .3 ampere

Nice explanation, But your input volt is approximate of (245 to 253)V to inverter ac and approximate of (225 to 235)V to a non inverter AC. 250V is not a good voltage to a inverter AC. Higher input voltage causes high energy consumption. Input supply is not good and that could cause inadequate results. Again, how inverter ac consume same high energy even it has constant low current to compressor.
If consumed units are one and the same, inverter acs are not really saving the bills. The ac was not in the ground floor will use more load than upper floors because the ground floors are cooler by nature as you mentioned about room temperatures. This is the real test. Bro, when Setting at 28 degrees, non inverter AC's compressor will not run most of the time but the inverter AC's compressor would have run at a low speed making the power consumption higher than the non inverter AC. So conduct this same test with temperature at around 23 degrees celcius. That would give a lot of different results.

I appreciate your effort. But in my point of view, you should check the power consumption of both AC on the same time. At night time temp will go down by naturally. So it's not a big deal to cool down the room temperature at night time. I think you will get an exact power consumption result of inverter and non inverter AC when you run and test at the same time.
Bro I have a doubt in this video… In your earlier video you’ve mentioned that the power consumption is based on the ‘Energy Efficiency Ratio’ value, in that case I have a 1.5 ton Daiken inverter A/C with ISEER value 5.20 and electricity consumption per year is 744 units(mentioned in the ratings label). This electricity consumption info differs from A/C to A/C. So if someone wants to save their money in electricity bill while using an A/C, it’s recommended to go with the least electricity consuming brand/ product i.e mentioned in the rating label right ? In that case the experiment done in this video is of no help right ? Please correct me if I wrong… P.S : I’ve been following your videos for quite a long period. Biggest fan of your work. Please understand the difference between an engineer and a technician, Engineer is someone who understands the requirement, design and develop a solution exactly to match the requirement, whereas a technician has SOP only to diagnose, operate and repair a product. He says he is not engineer because he knows he falls under technician as he cant develop an AC on his own for a certain requirement but understands the working operation.
Hi, your videos are great. But I would like to bring to your notice, some of my knowledge in the Psychometry, Refrigeration & Air conditioning field. The timing is different and due to which AC will get heat load according to the ambient temperature and humidity. We can ignore the effect of humidity. But we should definitely consider the heat load by day and night. Average day temperature (Dry Bulb Temperature) and specific heat capacity of air will give the heat load. There is considerable amount of current will be saved if any AC made to run on 12 hrs basis in night time comparatively with day 12 hrs. So this is not the final verdict according to my Mechanical Engineering knowledge.

A big factor in Air conditioning was missed. The room size plays a key role in this experiment. If the amount of air volume to be cooled is higher in the case of inverter AC, then the number of units would be more. Ideally speaking both the ACs should be run in the same room during the same time interval (i.e., morning or night cycle) to do a proper comparison.

You have mentioned that there are no big difference in internal heat load (human, equipment, lighting)in both the rooms. But the external load seems to be different. I feel the comparison would be valid if done in same duration of the day. The heat load through walls due to solar heat gain is peak at 4 PM and on West facing wall. So not just the room size, but the building orientation is also important. Is the west facing wall is exposed outside or not. Also roof has a good impact depending on if the room is in top floor or mid floor level? Maintaining these would make it equal comparison from HVAC load point of view.
I guess the difference lies in compatibility to solar panels. With inverter AC, with low ampere, it can be run on solar, but it's near impossible for it to be done with traditional compressor ac.
Hi bro... I appreciate your effort to measure the kWh in both the AC's. One point related to advantage of inverter AC is: In inverter AC, BLDC motor is used as a compressor motor & whenever the cooling goes down, the compressor will start smoothly due to presence of electronic switches in the inverter. Due to the same, the current is less while starting. Whereas in non inverter AC, induction motor is used as a compressor motor. So whenever the cooling comes down, it will start & run with full speed. In induction motor, due to sudden start, the starting current will increase. Due to this, the life of the coil inside induction motor may deteriorate faster than BLDC motor.

Bro, when Setting at 28 degrees, non inverter AC's compressor will not run most of the time but the inverter AC's compressor would have run at a low speed making the power consumption higher than the non inverter AC. So conduct this same test with temperature at around 23 degrees celcius. That would give a lot of different results.

Good observation, but outside ambient temperature will be higher in day time (Inverter AC testing time) , whereas lower in night time (non-inverter testing time)...this will have a slight difference in power consumption.

1. Power demand is uniform and less compared to normal. So the wiring load would be less
2. Noise would be comparatively less
3. Prone to more breakdowns
4. Runs on wide range of voltage
Need to ensure that both runs either Night only or Day only as well as the * rating of the model should be considered otherwise its apple to orange comparison

I appreciate your effort. But in my point of view, you should check the power consumption of both AC on the same time. At night time temp will go down by naturally. So it's not a big deal to cool down the room temperature at night time. I think you will get an exact power consumption result of inverter and non inverter AC when you run and test at the same time.

Bro I have a doubt in this video… In your earlier video you’ve mentioned that the power consumption is based on the ‘Energy Efficiency Ratio’ value, in that case I have a 1.5 ton Daiken inverter A/C with ISEER value 5.20 and electricity consumption per year is 744 units(mentioned in the ratings label). This electricity consumption info differs from A/C to A/C.
So if someone wants to save their money in electricity bill while using an A/C, it’s recommended to go with the least electricity consuming brand/ product i.e mentioned in the rating label right ? In that case the experiment done in this video is of no help right ?

Please understand the difference between an engineer and a technician, Engineer is someone who understands the requirement, design and develop a solution exactly to match the requirement, whereas a technician has SOP only to diagnose, operate and repair a product. He says he is not engineer because he knows he falls under technician as he cant develop an AC on his own for a certain requirement but understands the working operation.

Hi, your videos are great. But I would like to bring to your notice, some of my knowledge in the Psychometry, Refrigeration & Air conditioning field. The timing is different and due to which AC will get heat load according to the ambient temperature and humidity. We can ignore the effect of humidity. But we should definitely consider the heat load by day and night. Average day temperature (Dry Bulb Temperature) and specific heat capacity of air will give the heat load. There is considerable amount of current will be saved if any AC made to run on 12 hrs basis in night time comparatively with day 12 hrs. So this is not the final verdict according to my Mechanical Engineering knowledge.
U said due to too cool inverter ac cant try at night time. instead of inverter ac run at night time, normal ac try at day time then it is correct comparison. Appreciate your Effort.
The time selection of both the ACs are different and hence the variatin in heat loads.
Pl. Check the tests both again by starting Non inverter AC in day time & the Inverter AC in night.

A big factor in Air conditioning was missed. The room size plays a key role in this experiment. If the amount of air volume to be cooled is higher in the case of inverter AC, then the number of units would be more. Ideally speaking both the ACs should be run in the same room during the same time interval (i.e., morning or night cycle) to do a proper comparison.

You have mentioned that there are no big difference in internal heat load (human, equipment, lighting)in both the rooms. But the external load seems to be different.
I feel the comparison would be valid if done in same duration of the day. The heat load through walls due to solar heat gain is peak at 4 PM and on West facing wall.
So not just the room size, but the building orientation is also important. Is the west facing wall is exposed outside or not. Also roof has a good impact depending on if the room is in top floor or mid floor level?
Maintaining these would make it equal comparison from HVAC load point of view.

I guess the difference lies in compatibility to solar panels. With inverter AC, with low ampere, it can be run on solar, but it's near impossible for it to be done with traditional compressor ac.
We need solar ACs like solar pumps! They run at different load/speed depending on power availability!

I appreciate your effort to measure the kWh in both the AC's.
One point related to advantage of inverter AC is: In inverter AC, BLDC motor is used as a compressor motor & whenever the cooling goes down, the compressor will start smoothly due to presence of electronic switches in the inverter. Due to the same, the current is less while starting.
Whereas in non inverter AC, induction motor is used as a compressor motor. So whenever the cooling comes down, it will start & run with full speed.
In induction motor, due to sudden start, the starting current will increase. Due to this, the life of the coil inside induction motor may deteriorate faster than BLDC motor.
