This music... makes me feel like a worm on the ground of the forest, staring up into the last rays of sunshine as the heavy raindrops start to fall... I know I should stay underneath in the earth, but I need to see this sunshine, I need to feel this rain to remind myself I'm alive... a murder of crows passes by, they could kill me in a second, but they haven't noticed me, and for a frail second, I am once more reminded of the fragility of my own life... in this distance, thunder begins to growl... Great music!^^
I’m not really compelled often to comment on videos, but I cannot ignore how this album, upon more and more subsequent listens, exudes a certain beauty underneath that is only appreciated if you take the time to endure its abrasion. I’d wager this is one of my favorite metal albums of all time, if not one of my favorite works of music in general.
One of the best albums of all time. The last track is so beautiful, when i first listened this, my jaw dropped more and more as the song went along. Stunning.

Hahahaha, for real! This album has everything to be considered a top notch black metal, top notch depressive black metal and top notch atmospheric black. 😂 I have always said the strongest feature of this album (besides the f.cking depressive atmosphere) is the songwriting.
For me this one is best for deep thinking and reflection on my depression. The album I use to cry is Austere To lay like old ashes. This Dreadful Emptiness gets me every time. DSBM is pretty well-known in the black metal scene and the general metal community at large; it’s just that the genre gets a bad rap because it generates oceans of carbon copies and unremarkably amateur (in a bad way) solo projects.
