Holy shit, it starts at 100€? I can probably count with a single hand how many times I've withdrawn that amount.

100% accurate. I’m French and only withdraw 10€. Right now I’m hiding from my landlord. Haven’t paid my rent for months. It’s this or I can’t eat my daily slop (pasta and canned tuna)

This documentary was made with purely scientific methodology so it can only be accurate 😆
Regarding the tuna, I advise you to mix it (for a one person ration), with two hard boiled eggs cut into slices, a quarter onion, one sliced hot chili peper, a generous dose of olive oil and balsamic vinagar and some fresh salad and grated carrots! The end result is the Crocodile Tear salade Nicoise. Tell me what you think of the result 😋

I was shocked at how expensive everything was in Switzerland when I visited in I think it was 2018. Had plans on staying multiple days, but after a rather expensive lunch we decided to shorten our trip and head for Germany.

I am from croatia and as a student i worked in hospitality industry to earn something. French always had back then pennies only the Italians were worst... On the other hand Switzerland and Germans we're tossing around marks or euros like there is no tommorow.
Today sadly Croatia is so expensive that there is no more lot of French or Italians. Lot of British teenagers who get wasted...

We, in Germany, had to give up the 500 eur bill because of France´s (and other countries´) resistance. This is a major difference between France and Germany: In France, people like "concrete money", which means real property; in Germany, most people can´t afford an own home, so we like big amounts of cash instead. In Switzerland, the 1.000 SFR bill is very common.

€500 notes were dropped here in France due to counterfeit notes being in circulation. You don't often see a €200 note. I have a couple of €100 notes, but they are not common in rural France

@@paulbradford8240 This is what they told you. It´s not true. In fact, the 500 eur notes are with 1,76% the least counterfeited notes. The 50 eur is the most counterfeited with 40%. This is more of an cultural thing. In France there are ways verywhere to pay by CC. In Germany, you always need to carry cash with you. Example: Oktoberfest in Munich. Do you think that you can pay your beer, close to 15 eur a glas by CC? The waiters would be only doing the CC handling and had not time to serve the beer.

In France you cant spend more than 1000 Euros in cash now anyways for years. The governement wants to know exactly what everybody is up to. As a citizen you are not trusted, and treated as a potential criminal.

@@CrocodileTear True. A few years ago we had a large unexpected tax bill to pay. The tax office wouldn't give us time to pay stating they didn't believe we didn't have money as we own property. We took out a loan in the UK, transferred the money to France and paid the bill. Some six weeks later our bank manager telephoned me and said 'The Government wants to know where you got the money to pay the tax bill.' I told her I was going to tell them. She persisted, saying 'You must tell them'. I said 'The company I used to transfer the money to you weren't concerned where it came from (a bank loan). You didn't say anything when it arrived in our account. The tax office accepted the money. I'm not telling you, so they can do their worst.' We never heard anything more about it.

It's all about the number of people in each of these countries. France is much bigger so if everyone in a French city/town would like to take 1000EU imagine how big the machines would have to be. ;)
