I literally just sold/shipped my x70 today and then you post this…. It’s all good though, I haven’t used it in 2 years now and I sold it for more than double what I bought it for. I just enjoy a viewfinder more, and cameras don’t go in pockets for me, so I mostly have a camera around my neck and batteries in my pocket. I tend to gravitate mostly to my x100 or pen f. I hope the next owner enjoys it.
Hi Robin, i like the Brown Grip and it matches the strap colour. Really nice Flowers and the Panning of the runners and the Bike with the Blur looks great. Thanks Robin i enjoyed this positive video. 😊.
I had one and sold it three years ago. I bought it for the reasons you mentioned and sold it for the reasons you mentioned. Number one, no stabilization and two, I needed either a flip screen or viewfinder. Great looking camera and simple controls. I agree, add a few features and bring it back, along with one of the tiny Panasonic and Canon compacts. Strange that so many of us want updated old compact cameras and the manufacturers seem to be oblivious.
They should just do the X70 successor like everyone has been asking for. The X70 got the retro dial and tilting LCD, if they can somehow add IBIS into the successor then Ricoh GR got some serious competition. PS: I hope they make a 40mm equiv lens version because I don't like wide angle
Low light AF aside, the XF10 is truly awsome. It's pocketable, it's got great IQ, it has a sensible lens for a camera without a viewfinder and it does not suffer from dust like the Ricoh GR models. There are two things which really should be addressed if they ever re-release this or a similar model. 1. the aforementioned AF. 2. give it a sensible filter thread, not the silly tiny thing on the original. I would not want a tilt screen as it increases the size, though WR would be nice, a viewfinder would again just add extra size but an accessory shoe would be handy for a viewfinder option. Remarkably given what I paid for mine (new £475) and what they go for now (up to £700 used) it is a wonder that Fuji have not re released it or similar as it would be commercially viable one would have thought.
Oh yeah, you know I was thinking the exact same thing just 10 mins before this video popped up! The definitely need to fix the AF, give it all the latest film sims, but not the 40mp sensor. 26mp BSI sensor should be fine. It might be a squeeze getting a viewfinder built in and it might end up being myopically small, but a hot shoe that takes a decent accessory EVF (which could be offered in a kit for example) would do it for me. Then they could swap out the built in flash and maybe put the film sim dial there instead and offer a tiny accessory flash in the kit as well.
It needs IBIS. Also flash hot shoe is missing. But for small camera I prefer more versatile XZ-2. So it will be better to have some OMD XZ-3 with updated sensor :)
I had one but found the pictures to be lackluster compared to any of my xtrans sensor fuji cameras. I think it really needed a little bit of ibis like the griii and an xtrans sensor. I did find that 4k video on it for talking head was really good image though. Loved the size.
Well, you're certainly right that it would be popular. I have the Fuji X70 - bought it used several years ago for about SGD350. I see it for sale at ard SGD900 now. Seems all the compact camera prices are going through the roof. Bought a used Canon G7X II for SGD400+ maybe 4 years ago. Now it's listed on Carousell SG for $1000 - 1200.
Another thought and question ; if it’s a fixed focal length lens why not use a decent optical viewfinder since its only purpose would be for framing the shot? That would save manufacturing costs and space.
I feel like Fuji is falling fast these days. I want to keep loving them so much, but honestly for my channel and videos I'm not sure they're the right brand anymore. It feels like quality is decreasing, basic issues like AF aren't being adequately addressed, and we're just getting more high res sensors and x100 bodies they can't even produce enough of. Maybe diversifying their lineup a little with something like this would help out? Who knows haha. I just bought an XH2s and we'll see if it feels like the right tool. If not I'll likely jump ship entirely. Interesting hearing your thoughts!
That's why even though smart phone cameras are more convenient, I love having the EVF on my relatively bulky Olympus OM-D E-M1 (especially on very sunny days)
As a former owner of the XF10 and current X70 user, the XF10 was a complete miss. Downsides: Build quality Lack of hot shoe AF was horrendous No tilt screen No back button focus What we really need is an update of the X70. That's what they need to bring back.
28 mm equ. suck. I also see no improvement by adding an 5-axis IS system to such a wide lens in a small camera. Subject-motion blur will be dominant anyway, but the camera will be quite larger. I think the Fuji x10 is the better concept, cause of it manual zoom ring.
Just because you don't like 28mm equivalent personally does not mean it sucks. No focal length can "suck". They all have their places, and if you can't get good images with any particular focal length, the blame is elsewhere, not the focal length itself

Thanks for the support!
@@robinwong Hope you enjoyed the coffee!
100% agree with you - this was such a great camera, all I would want is an updated autofocus.

Thanks Robin great camera and improvement ideas!
I have this camera. It is slow even when using only snap focus but I still love it. Would love if Fuji made an upgrade!
what a little gem of a camera.
A 1 inch version of the X30 would be, in my opinion, be a big hit.

Hey Robin! Welcome back!
I'm still away. This was recorded much earlier
@ ahhhh, that’s right. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip/time off!
Small is fun, also somehow they have amazing color

I see xf10 video , instant like

That’s a beautiful camera! The appearance of a camera is a very low priority to me (I shoot an EM 1 mk iii), but that one is quite appealing.
The colors in your country are just amazing.

Agree 💯 about the XF10 Robin. How do you get so many good photos in one day!

It looks good, but it is just a downgraded version of the X-70. It would make more sense to update and bring back the X-70.

On first glance, I thought it was X70... which is my favourite compact shooter. And yeah wish Fuji would release it's newer upgrade.
No EVF, no sale
That's why even though smart phone cameras are more convenient, I love having the EVF on my relatively bulky Olympus OM-D E-M1 (especially on very sunny days)
Think that adding an EVF or an optical viewfinder will increase the size of the camera too much to keep it truely pocketable.
Yes! Loved mine but it died on me
XF10 is Sanyo body with Fujifilm lens
Would you try the Camp snap Camera?
And if it will happen, how much will it cost? Fujifilm went wild and crazy with their products!
As a former owner of the XF10 and current X70 user, the XF10 was a complete miss.
Downsides:
Build quality
Lack of hot shoe
AF was horrendous
No tilt screen
No back button focus
What we really need is an update of the X70. That's what they need to bring back.
this was a good camera, but became too expensive recently.
All Fuji cameras now. It's crayzee.
❤❤❤❤❤
no camera company will ever produce a cool small camera ever again
28 mm equ. suck. I also see no improvement by adding an 5-axis IS system to such a wide lens in a small camera. Subject-motion blur will be dominant anyway, but the camera will be quite larger.

Need a 26mm/40mm equivalent version.
Call it the XF10X.
Steal the market from the GR3X.
Profit.
So buy an x100 vi 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If it has a 28mm lens. For sure. It doesn't.
