This is probably the most delicious sauce you can serve with a schnitzel and fried potatoes. Every time, if I'm visiting Frankfurt/a.M. this meal is a must to eat.

The sauce is served cold and does not really work with hot meats, because the meat will go cold and the sauce will go warm and the sauce is not meant to be eaten warm. You also have to understand that the sauce is the main dish and the eggs and/or potatoes are only the carrier. This is a very unusual dish.

green sauce is delicious - in Frankfurt you can buy those mixed herbs in a bunch ... in other parts of Germany it will be very hard to get those 7 herbes all over the years. / I prefer the sauce with boiled potatoes an a salad, no meat, no eggs.

Funny coincidence: Grie Soß is mentioned in today‘s Eintracht Frankfurt hype video from their training camp in… I believe Louisville KY… ruclips.net/video/Zzskmb8nSvs/видео.htmlsi=Jq_C-LRACtpbFVwK

4:58 iirc it used to be for cooked meat, but during the last couple of decades a bunch of restaurants in the Frankfurt area have introduced it as a sauce to go along with Schnitzel. Should work better with veal than with pork, and I would advise against serving it with chicken or turkey. It is kind of „heavy“. I don’t think it works with roasted or grilled meat… Come to think of it, I recall several US journalists and even a bunch of football players going on record trying it with Schnitzel when there were two NFL games in Frankfurt, and really enjoying it. (PS: I‘m pretty sure I saw one Miami reporter actually eat the Grie Soß Schnitzel… but can’t find the video… only one reporter from the Kansas City NBC affiliate „recommended“ the dish several times.)

2:16 It looks spinach-y, but the herbs are iirc more like parsley-dominated, and the non-herbal ingredients go in a VERY different direction… it’s really hard to describe, especially because I only ever smelled it, but have never eaten it… (my lactose intolerance is the main reason)

the Frankfurt green sauce (grie Soß) is a deeply "religious" thing in Frankfurt.
Many people form other cities tried to copy, but they all failed.
It's made of 7 herbs, not more, not less and NO DIFFERENT ones !
And (like Klingon revenge) it's best (ONLY) served cold.
Give it a chance and a try - as long as you can get all ingredients.
    You'll love it 👍🥰👍
when done, put in a fridge for a few hours cause it has to mature like a young girl in her pride.
But never ever forget: sour cream is a product of protein and won't last forever.

BTW, the volume on your video is a bit too soft. I had to crank the sound all the way up on my phone & Im wearing headphones.

I am not a fan of Grüne Soße. But I guess, everybody who visited Frankfurt, must have tried.

1:30 The sound of the video you are reacting to feels like there’s a little too much reverb added to the original signal. You might want to try to lower or suppress that.

Nvm, that’s already a problem of the source.

you wanted to know about vid's sound ?
this video's sound is . . . how to say without makin her mad at me ? . . . it's not perfect,
    too echoe-like, caused by not much furniture in the kitchen. Think it's about 3 m x 3 m (~ 80 sq. ft.)
and the sound reflect from the (mostly) empty walls.
