Hi, there must be a heat shield over exhaust? Because i changed the short shifter lever to the original backdrop and the lever was hitting heat shield. I cut a hole and the lever was hitting burn backdrop
AX53 Forward/rear is also based on angle. The angle doesnt change. But with the right leverage, the distance needed to make the gearstick move is reduced. Even left to right, although not as significant. If you wish to reduce L/R throw, another type of adapter can be used on the gearbox itself. I am currently in process if making/developing one. thanks for watching and commenting 🐷👍
Hmm, alright I'm not exactly sure how it works on the peugeot but on a D or B series Honda I'm 100% positive the side to side doesn't change with a short shift. The rod on the gearbox essentially slide in and out to select the gears (the reduced leverage does help for this movement) but for the side to side movement it rotates which means that regardless of how much leverage reduction you got you still have to rotate the shifter the same amount of degrees to the sides. I hope that makes sense. Judging by the design of the linkage I'm just assuming the peugeot works the same way but I could be wrong! Also, I enjoy your vids mate ;)
AX53 Ah ok. Yes, so different manual boxes operate the selectors differently. On the Peugeot BE boxes, there is two rotating selectors, each rotated by the forward/back and the other side/side. So adjust the leverage and you can reduce the throw of both actions 👍 thanks for watching and commenting as always 🐷👍
@Piggy Power: Great video man! Was actually looking for a short shifter for my car and couldn't get it.. I might try doing this mod to my car.. Really helpful! Thanks...
Vedran Tomicic yup,as per description, most of the peugeots and citroens that are manual and use the single rod, like the 306 and 206, you can do this on 👍🐷
Hey mate ! Absolutely love your videos , i have a xsi in a1 condition... except for the the door fabric is sagging , dont suppose you know of any tutorials or something to help me fix this Cheers : D
H31995 thankyou very much for the nice feedback 🐷👍 Either find some replacements that are not doing this.... or you'll need to replace the fabric/reglue it. The glue just goes off essentially.
Muhammed Muhlis Göktaş don't need to open anything other than the bonnet to see the cables. Shorten the gear stick itself will have a similar effect. But if you struggle to reach it.... It's not a great idea!
Piggy Power standart seat is already quite high, a short stick would be worse I think. Thank you for your reply. I just remove my seats and spare tyre etc on my 1.0 208, if you want to see you can watch on my channel 😊
Christian De Leo thank you 🐷👍 always means a lot to hear feedback from viewers😊🐷 please show your support by sharing the video and channel with your mates... only if you thinks its deserving mind
It can be done so much easyer!. 1- remove the shifter 2- remove the shift stick only... aand boil it 3- move the ball by hitting it until it reaches the bend 4- remove the 4 screws of the shifter and then put then unside down. 5- put it all toguether and then put it in the car It will shift from 14cm to 9cm and the height of the shifter we be the same.
haha... wait to see the special length episode all about that estate... can assure you we do some feline surgery 😂👍 thanks for watching and commenting...#alwaysboost 🐷
Definitely something I'll be doing on my 306. Video's awesome as always !
Good to hear! Get stuck in!
Thank you too... really appreciate the comments 😊🐷👍

lever falls down and you can't shift speed
Most now have fallen off!!!
Just FYI, left right throw is unaffected by short shifters since its based on angle

Thanks for the links
No worries 🐖🤙
hi man, do u have videos about lights?
luboetr hi there... That is a VERY vague question... Could you be a little more specific? 🐷👍
Piggy Power i'm fine now. Thanks, nice job man ! :)
Can I do this on 206 also have a new metal bushing as u perviewed at beginning of video? I have bought a red those? 😀
Yup, works great on the 206

No worries! Glad to help! Please like and subscribe if you feel it's worth it 👌👍🐷💪😁
nice video, probably will be trying this out on my g100 daihatsu charade sometime in the future
Yeah go for it!
Do you maybe know if this is going to work on 206?
Vedran Tomicic yup,as per description, most of the peugeots and citroens that are manual and use the single rod, like the 306 and 206, you can do this on 👍🐷

would thi work on a peugeot 205 1.8 xad from 90?
Mark Rocha I believe so 👍🐷
hahah was just wondering the same thing.....
Would it fit on 5 speed 208 which is MA gearbox?
Muhammed Muhlis Göktaş if you have a gander, you'll see you have cable selectors not rods... So you will need to modify it differently
Piggy Power I didn't open it. But I see what you mean. How can I do it as cheap as possible 😀
Muhammed Muhlis Göktaş don't need to open anything other than the bonnet to see the cables. Shorten the gear stick itself will have a similar effect. But if you struggle to reach it.... It's not a great idea!

I didn't manage cause I can't remove the linkage cause the heatshield
Remove the heat shield then 🤔😜
@@PiggyPower the silencer exhaust is bumping there and i cant remove :(
very interesting... bravo mate... i love this video...
Christian De Leo thank you 🐷👍 always means a lot to hear feedback from viewers😊🐷 please show your support by sharing the video and channel with your mates... only if you thinks its deserving mind
Piggy Power yes no problem mate.. I will share it now on Facebook. . I forgot to say
"the car looks fantastic"
Christian De Leo thankyou, thats really kind 🐷👍
Nice solution!
thankyou! glad you liked... I've done it a number of times, thought was about time to make a guide!
It can be done so much easyer!.
1- remove the shifter
2- remove the shift stick only... aand boil it
3- move the ball by hitting it until it reaches the bend
4- remove the 4 screws of the shifter and then put then unside down.
5- put it all toguether and then put it in the car
It will shift from 14cm to 9cm and the height of the shifter we be the same.
I've seen and done similar with the reversing the bolts...but I find and have seen that the plastic balls are so brittle they break!
I've also found in doing this you may struggle to refit the centre plastic trim covers correctly
A pitty that I didn't make a video. But was quite easy to do in my case.
@@ignacioentrocasso8171 yes very shame that u didnt make a video :/( yes
Say no more... Ill do a 206 of a friend and make a Video o it
"Oh that feels very tight that does, very nice"
Indeed
surely there's no cat on piggy
haha... wait to see the special length episode all about that estate... can assure you we do some feline surgery 😂👍 thanks for watching and commenting...#alwaysboost 🐷
Would it work for peugeot 207 sw
Depends on the linkage setup, if it's cable, needs a different modification
