    The lob against Agassi is without a doubt the most amazing get I’ve ever seen. It was simply impossible. Roger had to bend the laws of physics to make it happen. But this wizardry is one reason Roger is the GOAT. Great video, as usual! Thanks for posting.

      It was incredible but it was a fluke, like the last resort shot. Most others are deliberate shots hit with intention of lobbing the opponent. Against Gassi (as I call him) it was more like a get than a lob, it just turned into a lob ( says all abt Gassi’s height ) 🤣

    Without doubt, Federer is the most talented, beautiful, vesatile player ever to play tennis. Variety of shots he plays, is far more than combined of Nadal or Novak. His volley , stop volley, backend, forehand and dropshots are very pleasing to watch. To play for 20 over yrs with very high consistency is simply amazing. And above all, he is very humble, down to earth always easy going with his fans and media. We hardly read or hear ppl say bad things abt him. It is astonoshing to know that he has never retired half way in 1500 plus matches he has played. This shows how much he loves Tennis.. No other player has this effect on public past 50 yrs plus. No wonder he gets so much love, respect and attention from Reporters, players and public.. Even if Novak wins 25 Slams, he can never match talent, skill, charishma, elegance and popularity of Federer. Novak may go down as Goat but Federer is Lion ( king who rules)..👌🏻👌🏻....

    Federer has such great anticipation. There were so many instances where he managed to get one more hit on the opponent's smash and it does it in such a casual way, it give you the feeling that he knows where the opponent will hit.

    For Federer, a lob is not typically defensive, rather it’s a passing shot but in the vertical plane. 🎾 🍾❤️

    Fed at the end of 7:27 point is so much fun, raising his hand as if to say sorry to Andy (after some unreal points like the smash facing almost backwards with the ball behind him). Also, the lob is just the same as the 2007 US Open "lob wedge up to the green", and "this is the bit of magic Federer has that Roddick just won't ever have" and Roddick falls for it both times.

    • @jollymolly2521
      @jollymolly2521 2 года назад +1

      IIRC this point was the point before the smash off Andy's smash. So back to back genius from Roger. That's why Andy playfully threw his racket at Roger...

    Federer doesn't play too many lobs, but when he does, those are special. My favourite is by far the "defensive" sliced backhand lob, that tricks the opponent into thinking he will have a ball to smash, so he starts to prepare the Trophy position, and then realizes the ball is too high and deep, and doesn't even bother to chase it down, or when he does it's too late, meanwhile the ball lands falling almost straight just inside the court.

    The existence of these channels is proof that Federer fans are true tennis connoisseurs. Fans of other contemporary tennis players, a couple of them more "accomplished" than him, will never make this kind of compilations, because they do not view and their favorite players do not play tennis as an art.

    If you want to see just how truly amazing Roger is watch the get he makes right before the lob versus Agassi. Set video speed to .25X to really see what happens. Roger hits a cross court backhand passing shot that Agassi just gets his racket on to drop volley. Roger is way too far back to be able to get there but he does, and picks it up maybe an inch or two off the ground

    I dig Rafa since the first match that got me interested in tennis, his 2006 final vs Federer. With the scores of "professional commentators" as well as mere Internet-commenting Federer fans throwing foul names at Nadal for the best part of 20 years, it was only natural that I'd grew to feel a marked aversion towards Federer the person, and the tennis player.
    Now it's all in the past. This channel has seriously helped me realize what a player he was, and now I am well-disposed towards him
    Also, I prefer that Rafa has won what he won with Federer in the game, and not what he would have won (much more) without Federer in the game.
