    Thank you for making this video. My curtisii is one of my favorites, but has never bloomed and while healthy, hasn't grown much. Your tips came at a perfect time. Thank you.

    You're a delight!! I have a hoya pubicalyx, a hoya curtisii, a hoya obovada and a hoya wayetii. I almost killed the pubicalyx when I first got it. But I got the watering down better, and now it's doing very well. I'm so happy with it. The curtisii is growing, but it's not nearly as nice as yours. I'll keep trying. It has such pretty leaves. I really like the ones with narrow canoe-shaped leaves, which is why I just got this hoya wayetii. (I hope I can make a go of it!) Good luck with your channel. Subscribed.

    Hello from NJ! I'm an orchid grower but just got 2 hoyas this past summer. No label on them but I think 1 is Hindu Rope and the other could be a carnosa. Have both beneath grow lights and I've read a lot. Glad to find your wonderful channel. TY.

    Oh my gosh I loved this!! I need a daysyantha now 😂 I just got a carnosa, but it’s super tiny and now I want one with speckles 😅 it’s so funny that you mentioned the curtisii as your first plant because she’s probably one of the more diva-y hoyas that I have 💁🏻‍♀️ Really enjoyed the video!! 🥰🥰🥰

      Curtisii is such a divisive Hoya! In my experience she’s been super happy but I think from propagating a lot of people have trouble transitioning it.

    I just found your Channel today! I love Hoyas I just added three to my collection of two in the past month. I can't find any around here in Maryland. I did a little video on my channel it's just my name and then put a plant word or houseplants in the search engine and you'll find me and anyhow I love that first one you called it number 5 I've never seen that one before now I want one. My last three holy is I bought from a nursery in Florida it's called Christina's tropical and exotic plants. They have a Facebook page and I private message the owner Julie and she is fantastic she gave me my choice of which reverse variegation heart-shaped Hoya I wanted. Wonderful people to deal with and they can get almost any Hoya you want from their grower

    Mr.urban, I had hoya carnossa more than 15 years. This plant bloomed every summer & dropped from flowers very sticky juice everywhere. All the walls & windows were covered with it. I threw that flower in the trash.

    I just had to stop the video to say that those two small white shelves behind you are perfectly styled! they look great....... I’m looking to get a Hoya, But I don’t have a ton of light in my house, I don’t own any high light plants, I think the plant I have that requires the most light is probably my Shefflera, I’m hoping if I can keep a Shefflera alive, I can keep a Hoya alive? Do you think??? I’m going back to the video now, I’m really hoping you tell me not all Hoyas need a ton of light😂🤞🏼

    In my experience Hoya curtisii is not at all easy to care for 😕 I treat it just like all of my other Hoya, but this one just refuses to do well for me...

    • @leahsnow8652
      @leahsnow8652 4 года назад

      Agreed. I just got the Curtisii and I am pretty sure I overwatered it’s. Figured that out, fixed the problem now just waiting. I’m so scared I’m going to lose it-it’s not looking well at all. I do still have some green healthy leaves but most of the plant looks bad. Hopefully if I can get her back healthy again it’ll be a little easier.

    I recently received a H. Obovata in the mail and one of the leaves is kind of flimsy. Three of the larger leaves detached from the plant at some point during shipping. Do you know if the flimsy leaf will regain some structure?

    Hi James- Congratulations on starting your new RUclips channel ! I have a Hoya question for you: my hoya rubra/krimson princess is hanging in my northeast facing window. I waited for leaves closest to base/oldest leaves to feel less turgid and more flexible and soil to be completely dry (I also use a moisture meter to be sure) before watering fully. I made sure all water has drained. But the leaves aren’t plumping/hardening up again and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It’s in plastic. Any clue what’s wrong?

      I know with my orchids and there an epiphyte just like Hoyas are if you let them dry out too much to the point that leaves are wrinkled sometimes they don't hydrate again I just let my oil dry out list of pot it feels light stick my finger in the soil is dry and then I water my Hoyas if you want to see how nice my two Hoya AR especially the princess I've had for a long time check out on my channel on RUclips it's Kathleen Murphy and just stick house plans with it and you'll find me in the search engine. But when you cut them back they get pushy or at least mine has gotten bushy and I have five or six baby plants from it. I never let my Hoyas get so dry the leaves wrinkled I never deliberately have let my orchid leaves get so dry they wrinkled. Any orchids where the leaves have gotten wrinkled they've never rehydrated so I don't know what the experts going to tell you but that's my experience

    I have a Hoya wayetii in a ceramic pot with a drainage hole but I’m a bit worried about it. The soil is staying wet too long. I check it before I water it but would it be better off in terra-cotta? Most of my other plants are in terra-cotta but I wasn’t sure about Hoya. Thank you! And love your videos so far! Can’t wait for another one!

    • @kathleenmurphy2379
      @kathleenmurphy2379 5 лет назад

      You shouldn't water your Hoya very often it needs to dry out between waterings and that may be why it's staying soaked and wet.

    Bro, the lights flickering in the background is kinda distracting. I think at the frame rate you’re recording isn’t matching up with the lights. Anyway, love all your Hoyas! The curtisii is definitely on my top wish list!
