    You two do complete each other, it's a joy to watch! lol The reason we asked you to wait for Mayday is because the guys switch what they normally sing. Tim Foust (bass) is singing tenor and Adam "Chance" (baritone/bass) is singing bass. Also, because it's just a great arrangement done impeccably! Nice reaction, thank you two! :-)

    You guys missed on why this is great 😅
    Tim Foust, the man with the very deep voice is singing very high, singing tenor, it gets everyone by surprise in the first seconds
    Chance, the baritone, is singing that deep bass, but you saw that. He is another one with an amazing vocal range.
    That's why people usually tell to wait, but I'm glad you enjoyed the song

  • @barakcapron8487

    The idea to make you wait is so you know who sings Bass and Tenor etc. So when Tim comes in singing Tenor you are shocked LOL

    To appreciate Rob’s voice, I suggest “End of the Road”… this is truly a must hear. His soulful voice really comes through, and this song made me fall in love with Rob’s voice. And you really need to hear a Chance lead. I suggest “I Can’t Outrun You”. It’s pure 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. It’s the song that introduced me to Chance’s velvety voice.

    This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.

  • @1aleckman1
    @1aleckman1 2 года назад +6

    The reason folks wanted you to wait is because Tim usually sings the bass parts and in this one he starts out and sings the tennor part. It usually throws people off when they hear it. lol

  • @tbruce8187
    @tbruce8187 2 года назад +34

    For context, listen to "Brother's in Arms" where Tim sings lead in a low bass versus the tenor he is singing in here. These guys are always bringing something new.

    The reason why us Home Fries ask reactors to wait to do Mayday is because that we want y'all to understand the vocalist with what they normally do, the first singer Tim Foust is normally the deep bass but singing high tenor and the baritone Adam Chance sings the bass line and now I think y'all are ready for Tim Foust solo off his album pieces of me ( come go with me/ stay) great reaction guys y'all are a great couple.

    What I love about HomeFree is the clarity in their vocal performance. A lot of singers now days I have had to search out the lyrics separately to see what they were about as you couldn't understand what was being said. This song was a masterpiece for me. The talent with which they sing is unparalleled by anyone else in the music industry. 🎶 Adam's beatboxing skills shine in this one. Tim's higher tenor was excellent and show his fantastic vocal range . Thanks for your reaction. 🦋🎶💕🦋

    Well, people have mentioned Tim being a Tenor in this song as Chance takes over the bass for this song, but this is a cover. The original was done by a woman named Cam. They do this in the original key she did it in which was kind of high. There is just so much that they did in this song. You are now ready to listen to Tim Foust solo. Look up and listen to “Will you still love me tomorrow/Stay” and you will see what we mean by how this was impressive.

    This happens to be in my opinion one of Home Frees' more masterful covers. As usual, they took a good song and transformed it into a great song. Each member of the band stepped up and elevated the music to the next level. I always have to listen to their songs several times to catch all of the beautiful subtleties going on. Sometimes the lyrics do impact how the mood of the music is interpreted so you do have a point there. You guys are so cute the way you interact with each other. I think Adam has you hooked on his vocal percussions the same as I am. I find myself listening for it because I'm such a huge fan of Adam. Tim doing the higher register in this was kind of the surprise because of his awesome bass that he usually does. Chance with his smoky bass doing the part Tim usually does was great and Rob's sweet, smooth voice and Austin's powerful tenor were wonderful as well. Great reaction.

    Tim isn't singing bass!!!he's taking the tenor role,and Chance is taking the bass role...surprise switch of vocal ranges & positions.😄

    This is one of my very favorite cover songs they do! The reason we ask reactors to wait for this one is so they will learn the name of each member of Home Free & know what parts they normally sing. Tim Foust, who actually started singing the first of the song is NORMALLY the basso profundo, but he has a 5+ octave range so he started this out singing high tenor! The other surprise is when Chance sings the bass part when normally he sings the baritone part or higher range! The original song was done by a girl & Home Free is singing the song in the same key as she did! They are truly amazing & so versatile, they're able to do anything!😊

  • @nancywiebe3693

    So sorry you missed the low bass, Tim, singing tenor. We love watching mouths drop when he opens.

  • @catcav29
    @catcav29 2 года назад +3

    It’s the role switch up. Because of their versatility they still are fantastic singing in alternative roles. Tim traditionally bass has been said to have 5 octave range and sounds great at both extremes.

  • @quiltie1774

    You needed to wait so you knew what each singer usually sings. They change it up in this one.

  • @marshac7738
    @marshac7738 2 года назад +5

    I think the underlying feeling of "different" in this arrangement is that they are singing in a higher key than they normally do. They chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer...
    But then there is Tim, HF's bass profundo (deepest bass) opening the song singing tenor (and at the end singing higher than Rob!) and Chance, HF's smooth baritone, dropping to sing bass deep enough to sing near the bottom of his 4-octave range. Other groups just can not match the versatility that is foundational to Home Free❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

  • @1aleckman1

    I forgot to mention the fact that Chance does the bass in this one. He is backup bass when Tim goes higher.

  • @quiltie1774
    @quiltie1774 2 года назад +6

    You need to know Tim has such a low bass voice and it’s a shock to hear him singing so high pitched. Then Chance, the baritone, takes over bass and sings so low. It’s the part change and that all of them are singing so high.

  • @darlenewells1255
    @darlenewells1255 2 года назад +2

    The surprise in this song is how the guys change roles. Tim Foust, the bass singer, starts the song singing tenor. Most bass singers do not have that range, so it's especially amazing! That's why people wanted you to wait on reviewing it.

  • @babyfry4775

    Oh they are so versatile. This was by a country female singer Cam. What we Home Fries love about this one is the switcheroo. Tim, who is the bass, was singing in the tenor range…and wow! And Chance, who is the baritone, sang in the bass range. If people listen to this too early, they don’t know Tim can sing so low and yet so high. That’s what’s fun. Anyway, I love the song too. Home Free is amazing and can be silly or serious. Try Helplessly Hoping, In the Blood, Die a Happy Man, What We Ain’t Got. Good reaction!😍

    hello Andre & Dominica, hope you had a wonderful Easter. Tim stayed in his high voice through the whole video, and then Chance with that deep bass "mayday" ....it proves he can sing a very good bass not just a baritone...and I do love his baritone - he is my favorite

  • @jdv32003
    @jdv32003 2 года назад

    What you should have noticed first is Tim is singing Tenor in falsetto, when he's a bass a singer. Big man with a beard and Rob Lundquist has a voice that is comforting. Alum Rupp and his vocal percussions are off the chain in this one. And the other Adam, Adam Chance sings Bass as he did with the group he was last with. And now you're ready for the next two songs, Helplessly hoping, and How Great thou art!

  • @sharonmortimer3843

    This is a song by Cam. The reason people tend to tell reactors to wait for this is, Tim the guy who started the song is the bass of the group. And Chance that does the low note towards the end is the baritone for the group. Chance is a bass also but usually doesn't sing it. Rob's voice is absolutely angelic, such a pure sound. Enjoyed watching your reactions to this song.

    The wait was for you to notice in this song begins with Tim ls leading in a high tenor voice, when he is known as the bass singer, and then Chance comes in a does the bass notes. Meanwhile Adam is doing a drum beat unlike most HF videos.

    The first lead is Tim, the low bass singer. He is normally singing the lowest of low notes and he sings tenor here and Chance, the baritone, covers the very low parts. Tim has a 5 octave range, while Chance covers 4 octaves. You rarely hear Tim that high without using falsetto.

    "Mayday" is a great song. To appreciate it fully, you have to hear the original -- performed by female country singer/songwriter Cam (Cameron Marvel Ochs), here: ruclips.net/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/видео.html Home Free's cover is a lovely performance (by any standard), but the shocker is that they did it in the same key as the female artist, and they have Tim Foust, one of the deepest basso profondo voices on the planet singing LEAD -- in a high alto or mezzo soprano range! When you realize Tim's not doing the bass, you realize what a great bass Chance is! (When you're normally singing baritone/bass behind Tim Foust, you are easily overlooked.)

    Please listen to and react to "Brother's in Arms", in this one Tim sings the lead in bass, the song is to appreciate all Soldiers around the world who fought, is fighting and died for their Countries. It's a very beautiful song that has a deep and heartfelt meaning, and it's because of these deep and heartfelt meanings is why this song is amazing.
