I was one of the evacuees from Paradise, CA ON November 8th, 2018. My son and I got out with just our meds and the clothes on our backs. It was absolutely horrific to have to drive out with fire on both sides of us. It took about 5 hours to get to Chico, which is normally a 20 to 25 minute drive. We were so thankful that we made it out alive! Thank you to all who helped direct the cars to get out.
My son, his dad, and myself were all going to move to Paradise in November that year because it was the only city out this way that we fell in love with when we moved to Los Molinos the year prior. The only reason we didn't start the move when we had planned was because my son's dad didn't get a job till months after I moved here so we didn't have enough money saved! Never ever thought there would be anything good about him taking long to get a job after we moved out this way from the Bay area until this! I'm so happy that you guys made it out OK! I've been up there many times and it's just heartbreaking. Every time I see black bear diner gone, I start to tear up.
There is no way to understand what you've been through but I am so grateful that you and your son are safe. I hope you are recovering emotional and physically....Take Care....
The fact that Kelly is able to cry alongside people who are crying and while hearing someone re-telling a story shows how empathetic she is. Her heart is so huge and it is filled with kindness and love.
I’m an Australian firefighter and we are experiencing the worst fire season ever. I actually suffered second degree burns to my leg just before Christmas fighting a fire. I have a special place in my heart for firefighters, and all first responders, no matter where they are in the world. So from one firefighter to another and to all first responders. Thank you! We are all a giant family! It’s so heartwarming to hear amazing stories and gratefulness in a time of complete tragedy, loss and heartbreak. Sending my love from Australia ❤️🚒❤️
A friend of mine has aunts who evacuated from the fire in Paradise. I can’t imagine what everyone has gone through. Thank you Kelly for being who you are.
Thank you Kelly Clarkson! My brother and cousin lost their homes in the campfire and it’s a long road to recovery and restoration! Thank you for reminding the public.

When I was a kid,I lived in Julain, CA and it was almost decimated. You guys have probably never heard of the place but it's in the mountains a few hours from San Diego. Thankfully we were informed in time and we got our pets and important things and hightailed it out of there but it was terrifying. I still don't understand how, but our house survived. Like LITERALLY paint of the front of our house was bubbled but the firefighters managed to turn it to the left of our house and it destroyed all the acreages we had but wow, It was a close call. We lost good people so I have nothing but the utmost respect for our firefighters and the families who live in fear every day for their loved ones who are out saving lives and homes.
Kelly I just love your show!!! What a great topic! You are so right first responders don't get enough recognition. I will also tell you who doesn't get enough recognition are the 911 dispatchers. I was one for 26 years and we very seldom got any recognition. We always heard when we screwed up but very seldom when we did things right. I applaud and thank you for your appreciation Kelly. Love your shows I always have tissues close by girl. Lol. My heart goes out to all of you affected by the wildfires. May God wrap you all in his loving arms to give you love, peace and strength.

Keep saying it Kelly Clarkson is one of the most kindness person I ever seen. She is awesome! Keep up the great work. And I hope to the Lord your show maintains it's good generous messages to all viewers. Thank you Kelly. ❤
Yup! We live near paradise. It still looks like an actual atomic bombs went off. Even now, it doesn't look any different than it did right after the fire. There's been almost no progress that's visible, at least. it's going the probly be a decade+ till the town is rebuilt but I really hope that they use their brains this time, the city developers, and actually build roads that make sense. That was the biggest issue of all! Tiny roads in-and-out, barricading people inside a known high-fire zone in the inferno. Just pure idiocy!
@@veggigoddess One of my brothers used to work at the Eel River Forestry Station, so I've been on those roads and even when you aren't in a rush they were bad. I haven't been in Paradise since the mid-70's and it was beautiful country then.

Thank you Kelly for doing this. It was a hard 1yr anniversary for thousands of us but watching this brightened my day. I don’t think It will ever get easier after what I saw while in gridlock surrounded by flames with my family but Paradise/ Butte County are blessed to have had so much love and support from so many for months and still till this day. The Camp Fire may have taken everything we’ve ever known but our resilience will win the war. #ParadiseStrong #WeWillRise
Wow I'm just amazed how anybody keep saying how great Kelly Clarkson is she makes a million dollars a month just from this show and she gives a measly 15000. The ratings boom she got for having these people on the show is more than 15,000
We ran through flames, most terrifying thing we have ever experienced. I lost my service dog Bear who pulled me through the fire without hesitation, he is my Hero💜🐾 He passed only days later to smoke inhalation. I miss him every day. My son lost his guitar building business, my son risked his life to save me.

Hey Kelly, You might not see this but one day you will. I just want to let you know how much you mean to me as an artist and just in general. Your story really inspires me, you are such a strong woman I swear! I can relate to so much of your music. When I was 2 1/2 years old, my parents abused me. I had a broken collarbone, broken jaw, cracked skull, and broken ribs. They burned me with iron and cigarettes on my feet, my niece, my chest, my knuckles, and my wrist. People used to bully me after I told them my story, and make fun of me saying that I would cut myself. My biggest insecurity is my eyes because I can’t control them, and when I meet people that’s what they judge me by first. I was in the hospital for three months and I was told that I wasn’t supposed to live. But I did, but it left me blind for the rest of my life. Your music really really really helps me so much! Your music has brought me from my lowest. I really hope to meet you one day. I am also a singer as well!
