I’m on Letrozole and I feel so tired from not sleeping and aching joints. I’m seriously thinking of stopping the drug, it’s no life to be shattered constantly

I have already done treatment and had single masectomy with auxiliary dissection to remove the cancer so why do I need to take hormone therapy if I no longer have the cancerous tumor?

I kept waiting to hear what the "women" were saying, but I only heard one.

Let me add, for anyone who is looking for some genuine information, I have been taking Arimidex for one month now. So far, I have not had any serious side effects. However, I do occasionally feel some fatigue. I've found that taking it at night rather than in the morning helps with that. Also, there seems to be a correlation between how much trouble you had during menopause and how bad your side effects will be, so that might give you a benchmark. Finally, remember, you can always stop if you need to! Good luck to anyone at the start of their treatment!

@@stoogeswoman I was okay for almost a year on pain, but took only weeks for my triglycerides to go through the roof. I tried on 3 weeks, off a week. I stopped again after trying again in May. The bone pain all over was making it impossible to sleep. I just don't know

I take Anastrozole, estrogen blocker. It’s so cancer doesn’t re occur. Even though I’ve had a bilateral mastectomy. The cancer which went into my lymph nodes could really stop at any organ, giving me cancer again. Anastrozole makes my legs ache. That’s all though. The estrogen blocker has killed my libido. Which is normal with lack of estrogen. I’m sure physiologically, not having breasts probably doesn’t help either. I chose to stay flat. Hope this helps. When I excercise, it helps my joint pain.

Is there a conflict of interest between your sponsor and independent and true information about side effects? Duh.

How long does it take side affects to appear after starting Letrozle?

Are there any women who felt OK taking Letrozole? I am 89 already with arthritis in spine.

@@suzymoon2067 Not everyone has such a reaction. It is not wise to do nothing….seek other ways! I wanted to hear from someone who has had a GOOD experience with Letrozole. I have heard all the horror ones already, but thank you!

These drugs make you have low to no estrogen which makes most women feel horrible. It made me suicidal.

@@jcatlover2251 Thankfully, I am no longer suicidal and have hope. Thank you kindly for your concern. For me, I cannot live with little to no estrogen. I hear that 50% of women stop taking the antihormone meds within the first year because of similar experiences.

@@crepesuzette5540 I'm so glad you are doing better. I'm new to the journey. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March. I'm PR positive and ER positive. I have to have more biopsies done on June 1 with an MRI. That will make seven biopsies. Surgery, treatments, and hormone blockers are in my near future. I'm so scared! When I was young, I couldn't take birth control pills because they caused severe headaches. I've been on an antidepressant for over twenty years. I've started to cut back the dosage of it. I heard Zoloft doesn't let hormone blockers to work. Not sure how much truth is to that. I had a total hysterectomy in 2009. I was scared to take hormones afterwards because I heard they could cause cancer, so I didn't. Imagine that! I even breast fed my two babies thinking it's good for myself and the babies. I never smoked and I might have wine once a year. The diagnosis itself put me on an emotional rollercoaster from hell for two months. I'm more scared of the treatments and hormone blockers more so than the surgery I'll be getting. Thank you for replying! I sincerely hope you stay cancer free and healthy. God bless you ✝️🙏🏻❤️

@@jcatlover2251 Thank you for your messages. I am just like you in every way except I had no hysterectomy. I just met with my breast cancer radiation oncologist today. Antidepressants are contraindicated if you decide to take drugs like Tamoxifen or Arimidex. The common side effects are pretty intolerable for most women (hot flashes, insomnia, depression, brain fog, weight gain and accelerated aging of every body system). The breast cancer treatment journey is brutal. Find what works for you and your quality of life. My heart goes out to you. The diagnosis, all the biopsies, the surgery, the radiation, chemo (if indicated), and anti-hormone meds are all brutal. Find strength in know that people care. Reach out to support groups online or in-person, pamper yourself and treat yourself like you would your best friend, read books like Estrogen Matters and arm yourself with information, make the plan that works for YOU and know it's ok to be scared. Being brave is doing hard things inspite of your fear. Breast Cancer survivors are modern-day warriors. Others have done it and You CAN do this. DM me anytime. (hugs). By the way, I discovered I have MTHFR gene mutation that slows estrogen methylation (detox). I am treating that now and my Integrated Med doctor says my labs show that my estrogen methylation detox is so good that she can't imagine me having a breast cancer recurrence. Since mindset is huge in health, I believe I am healthy and will forever have healthy breasts.
