Pop tarts are eaten for breakfast by children and high schoolers, sometimes collage students. Mostly bc they don’t have time to actually make something, and the children have either parents at work or sleeping.

That's true. Even though I like pop tarts I usually just have them bc I wake up really early in the morning and it's the only thing that won't make a lot of noise so my family won't wake up

Pop tarts are definitely more for snack time than breakfast, but yes put it in a toasted so it's hot and crispy and more flakey rather than soft and biscuity/floury

Tried it toasted... I felt sad coz I feel like Im forcing something to taste good. Like its a crappy pastry coated in cheap frosting... If it wasnt for the hype and convenience, no way in hell would I buy it in a bakery.

If they didn’t do that, the chips would all be mostly reduced to crumbs in transport. That’s why Pringles uses a cardboard tube instead of bags, but that’s also why Pringles looks like a smaller amount, there’s much less air volume. It’s mainly about trying to keep the chips as intact as possible. The deceptive appearance is just a pleasant (for the companies) side effect.

@@ChrsLee78 O have had bags of chips 60% air and bags 30% air. Literally no difference in amount of crushed chips. They need only be slightly pressurized so the sides of the bag don't collapse in.
@@ChrsLee78 That's not at all the reason. It's called "slack fill." It does provide a little cushion, but the "air" in the bag is nitrogen gas to prevent them for going stale immediately. Imagine a bag of chips accidentally left out in the open, that's because it's exposed to oxygen. If they filled the bag with regular air they'd go stale before they leave the factory. The nitrogen preserves the freshness.

Choco Bun - you should know if you are being fed something real/natural or chemical ... then make the choice for your own diet whether or not to eat it. If they put strawberry on the box and instead use something totally different...you should be aware.

@@MrMmitch32 I would agree with you... except that saying something is "artificial" or "natural" doesn't actually give the customer information when most consumers have basically no understanding of biology and just think "natural = good, artificial or chemical = bad" even though there's no scientific basis for that. When you use terminology that people don't understand, it's not informing the customer, it's manipulating them.

Caroline Carter its cuz in many Korean snacks (Im Korean) theres a marking that tells u where to open so I’m guessing they were looking for that so they were confused and instead opened from thr bottom
Pretty much all Korean bag type snacks (and just in Asia in general) have a little mark or pre-tear on one of the ends of the bag to mark where you should tear it open. It's actually ridiculously difficult to open korean snacks by pulling the front and back apart like they ended up doing. It was one of those small culture shock things that I had to discover when I lived in Korea

There are waaaaaaay too many flavors of pop tarts, and you really have to find "your flavor". Honestly, my family just sticks with basic boring brown sugar lol. To me all they basic (frosted) flavors are the best. regular strawberry and blueberry are really good too. Once they started getting "fancy" with the flavors, they all just start tasting a sugar mush to me. S'MORE is the ONLY good "fancy" flavor lol

Pop-tarts should be toasted in a toaster... it is why they are called Pop-tarts
a lot of people don't toast their pop tarts. It's not uncommon. Probably tastes better if you do, that's just personal preference at that point, but I think eating a poptat that hasnt been toasted is a genuine American experience.

Tastes awful regardless of what you do because there's just too much sugar. I also think the flavors are too strong and artificial. I've pretty much never liked overly sweet things, and I even stopped eating candy/sweets/whatever-you-want-to-call-it at a young age because I just didn't enjoy it all that much. I still bought something like a Twix, even on regular weekdays, but it was once or twice a year at most. My parents didn't even mind me buying such things on a Wednesday. Imagine that, parents trusting their 9 year old kid to be responsible with money and not buying garbage. On the other hand, they didn't trust my sister at all.

The pop-tarts are better if put into a toaster, i think that's where the name comes from too. When the toaster is done they "pop" out. I usually break off the extra pastry part around the edges and it gets rid of the extra 'floury' taste. They're also popular here because you can grab a package and go and eat them on your commute to work or school easily.
Lol I save the "crust" to eat last because I find the center with frosting too sweet.

@@oceanross7947 That was a big culture shock for me at first. When I tried a Korean chip for the first time (the shrimp one in the red packaging) I realized it was because the material is much thicker. It was harder to open it way we usually open potato chip packaging.

tae mi I love em! There are a couple brands that are too acidic, it feels like they’re gonna burn a hole in my tongue🤣 but I remember the Lays being pretty good in that regard.
tae mi I don't know anyone who eats them. When the hoarders were cleaning out the store shelves, the vinegar chips were the only ones still in stock.

Dude kettle brand used to have a baked salt and vinegar that was so fucking awesome. The combination was like eating glass because the kettle cut your mouth an the vinegar would seep in the wounds, but it was delicious as fuck.

I ate pop tarts as a kid bc I would just eat anything sweet back then lol I eat them now as a college student bc they're cheap and good for a quick breakfast if I'm in a rush (but it's not an everyday thing), some people also just eat them as snacks! I never toast mine lol I'm too lazy. I think most americans recognize that pop tarts aren't high quality but a lot of us just grew up with them. some flavors are better than others too, I've never tried the ones y'all had but my favorites are blueberry and brown sugar cinnamon. but yeah there's really no way to make them taste better, they're just Like That DJFKGJ
The S’mores and Brown sugar ones are “must” toast pop tarts in my opinion. The brown sugar one the inside heats up and the sugar starts to melt.... and the outside gets crunchy. With the s’mores, the marshmallow inside gets a teeny tiny bit gooey.
As an adult, the only time I have them today is out of a vending machine at work (if I fail at having breakfast before work).
Brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts are amazing. Taste great with a cup of coffee!

You are supposed to “pop” these in a toaster for like a minute! It softens the bread and the insides get gooey. A microwave changes the taste!

Flour taste is a good way to describe pop tarts lol. Most snacks like that don’t taste natural (or very good) but the convenience of it is why American kids eat it for breakfast.
Most people don’t have time to eat a proper breakfast at home and meals aren’t served for free at school so cereal bars, granola bars, pop tarts etc are things kids can eat while going to school in the morning.
Also most kids snacks like gushers, pop tarts, pizza rolls, etc... obviously taste a lot better to kids than adults. I bought a bunch of Zebra cakes the other day because I felt sentimental and I realized they taste kind of bad but I still ate them lol.
Pop tarts taste even more good when they're warm. So good. And the side get more crunchy and tastes better. When these were given for breakfast in middle school and high school, I was always so excited. And also with hot pockets and biscuits.

A lot of kids have pop tarts for breakfast because they're tasty (in some flavors), easy, and portable! I remember tons of kids would eat their pop tarts on the bus to school. Anything to get those 10-15 extra minutes of sleep haha

Salt & vinegar chips: love them. My mouth started watering remembering the taste of them.
Butterfingers: I agree with their description of feeling like your teeth are rotting but I also loved it growing up.
Pop-tarts: I think some flavors are better than others but it's definitely a snack and not breakfast. As an American, I think poptarts are such a big hit because they're quick, simple, and easy to take on the go on a school day. Not healthy, but easy.

I ate a chocolate Pop Tart for breakfast from 4th grade to about 8th grade and it was always toasted with a cup of milk on the side. The Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tarts were really good after being kept in the freezer also.

Many children enjoy eating Pop-Tarts because they like the sweetness. They are also small and you can eat them with your hands. They are also not very expensive and are great for when you are running late to school or work!!! :))

Pop Tarts are the breakfast of champions. We know they are artificially flavored, but for the cost, we love them. I am a hunter, and pop tarts are my go to breakfast when heading into the woods in the mornings. Snacks with REAL: fruit filling will cost 10 times more in the USA than the other stuff, so we buy a lot of the other stuff. Most of us cannot afford the real thing.
Tried Pop Tarts once, the same kind, toasted and not-toasted.
I would have described it exactly the same as you did. The artificial-ness of it - smell, taste, looks, texture - was overwhelming.
With the Pop-Tarts, it's better to eat the fruit flavored ones, like cherry or strawberry. Put them in the toaster while putting on your coat and grabbing your backpack. Eat it while running for the school bus.
The air in the potato chip packaging is to not make them crumble during transport.
Cottidae That is actually nitrogen which the bags are filled with. It ensures the freshness of the product and the bags are so full of it to help protect the chips from being crushed during shipping. :-)

pop tarts are eaten for breakfast if you are in a rush, like cereal. but you are supposed to put the pop tarts in a toaster for a couple minutes and let the filling in the inside get warm/hot depending how you like it and then you can eat it on the go
also, artificial strawberry is one of Americas worst flavors. You got to get the S'mores Pop Tarts or anything other than the ones thats made after fruit.

didn't know pop tarts could be warmed up in microwave. i always use a toaster to warm them. reason why there called POP - Tarts. They pop up when there done being heated by toaster and they taste very sweet.
They taste much better when heated. i like to eat the jelly part than the outside crust because it is more tasty.

Poptarts are supposed to mimic fruits & cream filled breakfast pastries and are meant to be toasted so they are warm and crispy like something made in a bakery. They’re usually for picky children, or to make quickly when there’s no time to cook breakfast. But adults eat them as snacks sometimes, for the same reason (time constraint) or for the nostalgia factor.
i see a lot of people try pop tarts cold... but most people don't eat them like that. At least toast or microwave them... Especially those who eat them for breakfast usually eat them warm from a toaster with a glass of milk, or tea, or coffee in the morning. Cold poptarts are kinda not great, especially the cookie. It tastes like powder of some sort or raw flour dipped in jam. It's not the best. And the top layer of frosting crumbles off too easily when you eat it cold. And the jam expands when you warm up the poptarts and becomes more juicy and gooey. People eat this because it is a very quick way to have a boost of energy to wake up. It's super sugary and wakes you right up. I myself no longer prefer sugary breakfast, but when I was in school and had to wake up at 5 in the morning it was a great way to just get enough energy to get ready for school and then get there right on time to expirience the sugar crash in my first period class.

I'm an American and I have been told that the salt and vinegar chips are best to eat when you have a sore throat. The salt from it helps kill the bacteria that causes the sore throat. It is not an instantaneous solve though. However it does help.
I am from Northern Ireland and the only thing on this video we have is Lay’s Crisps (here we call them Walker’s Crisps) we don’t have butterfingers or pop tarts here.

We’d eat pop tarts for breakfast because they’re fast to grab and pretty filling. There’s also A LOT of flavors. Americans don’t usually eat breakfast in general, so it being easy to get is important.

Pop-tarts are a “I’m in a rush” kinda thing. The butterfinger is better for a late night ice cream topping. The chips I like best on my ham sandwich.

Oh my goodness! I eat pop-tarts almost every morning during the school year! Definitely an on the go kind of food. Idk about other people, but I've been eating pop-tarts for breakfast since preschool and I'm almost a senior in high school now. Lol! I just never have time to eat at home in the morning. Is sad.
American's will eat pop tarts because they are convenient. If you're running late you can put a pack in your pocket and head out the door. My roommate in college used to put them in the toaster (especially the chocolate flavor) and then she would spread a small amount of butter on the back until it melted. That way they weren't so dry - also much more fattening.
Must toast the Pop Tarts before eating them, please! The flour does taste uncooked without toasting first.
They might want to know there are literally hundreds of different flavors of Pop-Tarts. My favorite is probably S'mores. I've seen the new Strawberry Milkshake but I haven't tried it. They all have that flour taste, I think. I've never had them for breakfast, though. They're more of a snack food, like the chips.

Poptarts are for snacks or for breakfast if you are a kid who needs to go to school and your running really late. Personally, I like the plain strawberry flavor because it's not as sweet. But I eat eggs for breakfast since I'm not a kid no more lol.
Not many people eat Pop Tarts as breakfast (at least not any more - I remember having it sometimes in the 1990’s to early 2000’s as a kid). It’s generally eaten as a snack! When I ate it for breakfast, I had plain strawberry or blueberry. You can get it with or without frosting as well.
