    Thank you for showing this Wes !, It is so nice for me to be able to see inside these modern machines, both the quality of materials and construction and strength. This one looks like it will last and not have mechanical failures for a long time, good job Janome !

    Thanks so much for this series on the jw8100. I purchased this model in 2018 for under $200 as a warehouse deal! I use it to sew baby quilts with my church’s sewing ministry once a week with 10-12 other ladies. We each have our own machine and produce over 200 charity quilts and other handcrafts every year. Three other ladies also have this same machine, and it’s working out well for us. Since I sew once a week on this machine how often should I take it into the shop for maintenance? It’s 3 years old now, and not heavily used, except 3 hours once/week. I’m intimidated to take it apart and clean& oil myself. I do clean the easily accessed areas! I love seeing you take these machines apart! (So many intricate parts!). Great work and you have such a good spirit! You are greatly appreciated!

    This video inspired me to clean my machine, I haven’t done that in a while 😬. It was bad. Also how to I know what I need to oil? I checked my manual and it doesn’t have instructions for oiling under the maintenance section. I have a Janome Memory Craft 7700 QCP. I’ve also had it for 7 years I think and have never serviced it. 😬😬

    Thank you for the Videos. Very helpful to understand inside the sewing machine. I hope you have time to answer this question. I got a new bobbin holder and change it after the needle broke. Unfortunately, the upper thread get cut by the needle and does not sew at all. Would you please let me know what could be wrong? I have Janome Model 18750. Thank you

    My wife has a Janome 6130. She was using it & everything was working fine. She stopbfor a sec to adjust something & when she hit the button to begin sewing again, the machine made a sort of grinding noise & the needle won't complete the cycle by moving upward. The hand wheel is free & you can move it up & down, but it sounds like something is hitting on the down stroke, bottoming out. I removed the plastic cover & I can see a little metal "foot looking " piece that is attached to the needle bar. The little foot piece is hitting thr metal plate that the needle bar goes through. Do you you have an idea of what the problem is. I know nothing about sewing machines. I've never used one & do not know anything about them. I'm trying to learn. Can you help. I'd send pics & vids if I could

      I'm thinking it's out of time. Or the set screws in the needle bar have loosened enough to allow the little foot piece to hit the plate. I just don't know

    I got a new Janome hd 3000 and I’m using the pedal but the machine won’t even thread. When I tune the knob on the side it’ll lift the needle up like normal. And I’m heating a clicking sound. Idk if I just got a faulty one bc the first one I got never did this.

    Hi I have a singer quantum 9960 for about a year and a half. I was sewing the other day and the needle in the mechanism start jumping around like crazy so I turned it off. The next day I tried to do decorative stitches and they turned out upside down meaning the decorative part was on the bottom and the messy part was on the top. Do you think you could figure this problem out

      I've sewn on both and I have to agree with you these new cheap plastic parts are a real pain to deal with. I wish they would make an all-metal modern machine with a needle threader that was not computerized and programmed to break down. I'd love it if one of these companies would produce a modern hybrid machine to include:
      *
      mid arm comparable throat space
      *great feet and precise build quality like the bernina records
      * a built in needle threader
      * janome qc model feed dog system.
      * mechanical non compterized
      *Few if any plastic heavy wear parts
      *Great looking design and colors of the 40s. Morse machines for color or the really amazing engineering in the elna supermatics.
