Nice build see you working out all the same problems i had with my 74 w300 440 swapped, i got the 4 speed 4x4 love my truck frame up restored 7 years deep at this point keep up the hard work 👍, oh and you can get passenger side drop water pump housing thats what i did to work with my radiator
Thank you! Glad to hear that another tin grill got the big block treatment and is still truckin! I cheated and used a flexible lower rad hose. Got the start-up video in the work right now
@@sorta_stock im in the process putting together another 440 motor currently fully rebuilding it , also in 1974 w300 came with the 9" booster stock with the small block i lucked out . can't wait for the next upload 🎉
Looking good, have your seatbelt on when you stomp those brakes! You could use a piece of ridged tubing for a spacer where your pedal connects to the pushrod for your brakes, hell even a piece ridged copper water pipe would work. That will be a blast to drive with that BB!
I have some conduit that I looked at for that but, it was a smidge too big. It feels pretty sturdy as it sits. I shaved the bolt down slightly so, it shouldn’t move towards the head at all. Excited to fire this thing up!
@@sorta_stock I bet, if I lived out there and you were foolish enough to let me get behind the wheel, I'd help you smolder the tires. And I'm serious about wearing your seat belt if you hammer the brakes hard, those big tires bite. Ask me how I know.
I feel sorry for the guy that ends up with my old 76 D100. I crammed the 440 in place with the small block booster in place. It’s not gonna be easy pulling that valve cover.
Let me know where your going to find a pcv plug for that valve cover. I have several Mt valve covers and that's a problem. I would have plugged the oil filler off under the break booster. Oh you do know they sell a kit on ebay for this big block swap for 180 bucks out of a vendor in Iowa. Its a 7" booster and works great.
No idea on the plug just yet. Need to start looking. Just looked on EBay and couldn’t find a 7” brake booster for this. I’m assuming the guy is refurbishing OEM ones which, is awesome.
@sorta_stock well I will try to find it. A lot of this stuff is back ordered too. I have the same problem with my d100 drag truck. That thing needs power brakes lol

A stock valve cover squeezes in with a swap but, it sure as hell ain't coming off the engine lol. Gotta pull the booster first
Shit, might have to try that on a car to get the extra braking power.
