Yeah I just get the product I don't make anything off of these and I try to tell people that early on people are calling me a liar until they started figuring out that I'm actually being legit if you look at the links they don't even go to a creators account they go directly to Amazon so that's why when you click on them you don't ever see an affiliate storefront or anything like that it goes directly to Amazon
there always seems to be some "New" type of scanner to buy, but now you've got the system working for you and with you Rich, like it's supposed to. Congratulations Johnny Big Rig.......You Deserve It.
Got the exact same a while back I used it on a crown Vic and buddy i worked with used it on a Taurus figured out problems right away this thing works!!!
I've already been screamin about Ancel products and scan devices!!!! They are a damn good company and all of their tools are in a midrange price level, that are super affordable and have killer scan functions!!! me being a super experienced technician for more than 20 could most definitely use this tool to perform a lot of tasks throughout the work day!!! Rich wait till you get your hand on one of them Ancel X7 scan tool!!!!
I have the exact same Ancel AD310 that’s ALWAYS plugged in to my 2012 F150 ecoboost. I just leave it plugged in and looped around the gear selector. The light gets a little annoying on night drives but it been going strong for a couple years now and it’s been plugged in continuously too. 😂
I have one of those. It does and tells me everything I would need it to. I think a decent OBD reader should live in every car along with jumper cables, a tire inflator, and a jug of coolant :-)
got this exact scanner for my 99 Taco couple years ago. didnt read anything at all, just wouldnt connect. it worked fine on other vehicles i have ...but not the Taco. I purchased a couple different brand, cheap hand scanners since then and they all work fine on my Taco. But $18 is a great deal for most people
Cool scan tool. I have 30.00 one from Wal-Mart. I finally got rid of my lean codes. I basically just order a Motorcraft massage flow sensor. Installed it and no more lean codes. I just get a code for my evap that there's a small leak detected. I already replaced the gas cap with the original Motorcraft part from the dealer. So, I think now I'm going to have to get a smog test done on it.
Not a bad budget option, I can see it being handy to have. Especially at that price, I am considering on getting two of them at least. These ones look way more useful than the basic code readers I've seen.
Not a bad basic scan tool. It's a little pricey without the discounts for what you can pick up at an auto parts store. How's the cable length? That is the downfall of most scanners.
@@FordBossMe it does have a decent screen and up and down buttons. The basic Carlyle one is around $50(I think I paid less than that, but that was a while ago). So that is a pretty good deal. 👍
@@243tubs yeah I just did the same thing and it gave me more tax than what I was expecting so I checked out at $19.40 cuz I'm going to buy one for a giveaway
My 06 f150 4.2L trans overheated while sitting in park. Think it needs a rebuild? The level is fine and the color of the fluid isn’t burnt. Not really sure of a way to test an automatic for slipping.
@@FordBossMe scan tool got a p1783-ff in the powertrain control module. Could be just the temp sensor reading incorrectly but I could smell it too lol I was in the Marta line to get emissions test done so I was in and out of drive a lot. Also more info is I would put in back in drive and give a little gas and it would instantly squill the tires. When I got back on the road the o/d light stopped flashing and warning light went out on the dash.
Probably a good start to do a shift point road test. And or torque converter operation test. I’ll end up taking to a mechanic I just like working on things. Lol
Off topic video, I’m brining in my 16 explorer for the toe link recall, is there a guarantee part changed despite the inspection or only if something does not look right will something be changed?
@@FordBossMe It does. I got a cylinder 5 issue (code P0305). Very basic indeed but it gives the information needed to keep it moving lol. Thanks for your reply.
So I'm at the mercy of whatever they have available for the month to send out to people to review you don't just tell them this is what I want send it to mewasn't? And as I said in the video will get to the scanner tomorrow it does more
The codes only work for a limited time man that's how all codes work this is an old coat and if you would look when the video was released you would see it's only for a couple weeks and then it's no good this was months ago
I can't really see what you are doing with the buttons on the scanner that are not illuminated, and you are not explaining how you are navigating the device. This video may be good for those already knowledgeable, but I am not following how to do this at all.
I bought one and it was a waste of money. I have a flashing engine management light, an obvious misfire yet no codes current or pending. An utter waste of time and money.
Maybe for you it was but all the other people that bought it found the benefit in it I mean if you want something and you're in a pinch why would you go with something cheap why wouldn't you just go by AutoZone and have them flasher check engine light real quick instead of buying something that's cheap for something that's extremely serious and then not doing the homework and then coming back here and complaining about it? What you're making model do you have if you have a flashing check engine light wire driving that's a clear indication that you have a misfire issue going on and that you're probably doing damage to the catalytic converter and you need to get it to a professional diagnose it not doing it yourself
@@FordBossMe I didn't say I was driving it!!!!! I'm not that silly. All I said was I had an obvious engine misfire. It was checked today and no.3 coil is faulty. All have been replaced. My problem is the machine communicates, tells me my monitors are found and OK yet did not produce what should have been a simple ignition coil code. I was beginning to think I had a blocked cat. Fortunately I a!ways carry a set of spare coils. I changed them one at a time and the 2nd one I changed c!eared the fault. Strange thing is that after a short drive I thought I would have a go at clearing the engine light. The damn thing then tells me I have one code AFTER I've fixed it!!! Yes it was the ignition coil code! It would not clear it initially but after I assume was one drive cycle the tool did clear the code. My issue is, Ok it worked eventually but only showed the code AFTER me finding the fault and fixing it. That makes it kind of a suspect tool in my eyes by which I cannot have any great faith. I would have changed the coils anyway without the tool and if that didn't sort it then the cat and O2 sensors were my next step. It would have been nice if it had worked straight off but I now know it does work and I wil persevere. Is the lag the fault of the tool or my ECM.

oops - I forgot I had a $5.90 credit. Otherwise it would be $31.24. hmm
Thank you. Order has been placed. As an ex tech it bothered me not being able to
Read my own codes. Of course my 2021 is still under warranty
I did it again, plugged in the promo code, got $3.50 for it but then shipping went from $7.54 to $10.44 !! Total is $24.89.

I'd take it out if the port sometimes and don't leave it plugged in all the time
It is a nice little scanner
Thanks for this, especially explaining some of the abbreviations and playing around with it.
That's a good price. If my tuner didn't have a scanner in it, I'd definitely pick it up

I'm just giving people an option it's cool to have in the vehicle especially if you can get it now for as cheap as I'm able to offer it for
This looks like an amazing scan tool for me being a young lube tech working my way to become a tech
It's perfect for you
Does this pick up abnormalities even if the check engine light aint on?

Don`t buy, they dont tell you it will not work on certain veh, like my 03 Toyota Tacoma, the most popular ptckup in the U S.
How is that canshift kit?
Love it absolutely love it it's fun
