I had an aggressive hip bump & powerful swing 20 years ago and was playing great….but one free lesson ruined my swing…I got better again over the past 10 years, but switched to overlap from interlocking grip in my 50s and lost a lot of wrist hinge and power. So I don’t play long tees and i shot in the 70s……low to high….but lost that hip bump,,,,,,,but recently, I was swinging in my yard and got to that front leg and got that feel--but don’t know how, Once I a while I feel I am getting Rory, other times people have said i am swinging smooth and unhurried like Fred Couples, but I cannot settle on one swing that gives me the power i want. But I am a good wedge player and chipper and keep the driver straight--I reach short par 5s in two with 3 wood or hybrid. 470-490 yards……I even had the Scheffler shuffle down a month ago. Golf is infuriating ….I often hang back and spin out and come under……I played 7 holes a few days ago and hit 4 irons long and left
What you want to do is get yourself a nice task to settle in on; we have a nice collection of them on our premium website at Wisdom in Golf Premium.com and see the “task 2.0 video series” and once you feel you have yours, (hint: your body wants to move this way and performing these tasks are easy and instinctive as we have been doing them for thousands of years) then allow your swing to choose the style it likes to use to perform that task! Really a lot of fun and a lot of Ah Ha s along the way! Oh, and cost? $9.95 a month for my life’s work of over 500 videos! So less than one lesson per year!
Glad to see my lead knee is allowed to come backwards in the backswing. I tried to stop that for a while as I tended to tilt my spine forward if I did (like sort of "leaning" rather than squatting into the downswing) but it felt unnatural. Mu's skills are quite intimidating. 198 mph ball speed is not from this planet :-)
I fought the golf establishment for freakin years for that one! It is not anatomically proper to withhold the legs in the backswing as it forces the upper body against the lower body and if any of these guys had looked under the hood of a human machine and seen how the spine is made and how the facet joints of each vertebrae lock into place like a leggo block, they would have seen that Bobby Jones was already on the right track and that there was no need to reinvent the wheel! Lead knee rotating back like a baseball pitcher in his motion is non negotiable for long term health of the swing and body.
Think solves some of sequencing issues. I’ve worked on being bolted and centered as in your premium video but there still seemed like there was something missing. Ironically I throwing a ball with my son the other day and noticed how much more effortless it was when I started my throwing motion , after pulling the ball back, with my lower body. Rushing from the top was likely the cause of my over the top troubles instead of leading with my lower body.
Unfortunately I have a bad left knee so it coming back like that in the backswing is very uncomfortable. But the idea of the lead knee turning out is a big part of my feel or trigger of getting my left hip to rotate back behind me. It’s a great swing thought, and definitely helps stabilise my swing and get through the ball with good rotation.
Went back to this move after trying to engrain an anterior to posterior push and this video pops up in my feed. Maybe the golf gods are trying to tell me something😆
I used to lift my front heal and achieve a longer/better back swing, but two shoulder surgeries and neck fusion, as well as turning 65 recently have stopped much of that. I'm still gym strong, both because of those physical problems, lost a lot of flexibility. What do you recommend for someone who is gym strong but lost flexibility?
I am using this feel to deliver my divot of grass into the direction of flight and making my tee summersault into the direction of flight with the driver. FEEL, to target DIRECTION.

Nice 👍🏻
Merry CHRISTmas 🎁
Happy New Year 🎊
Pure Genius! The Grandmaster does it again! This feel had me hitting my irons extra crispy!
It is a great feel! 😀👍
Another great video. This has been very helpful for me because my left knee and leg where not doing the job! Thanks Shawn 😊
Right on John! 👍😀

I really like this guys swing . Looks like a whip
Yes, exactly! Use momentum to build a whip!

Awesome video! May I ask Shawn what driver and shaft do you use. Thanks
Cobra Aerojet! 9 degree with Fuji Ventus Black 6 S velocore…best driver I have ever had by far!

I recommend you speak to Mu and get on his program for speed training; go to WZDMNMVMT.COM in the description
Hi Shawn. What is the “task” in your swings here( both iron and driver ). Everything is so good. Will polish the start of my down swing. 👍🏻

@@golflessonsAnd the speed? Is it all from the legs or legs and rotation? The hands and arms are certainly passive.

How does Mu get his club so far behind his back.. is he double jointed. Lol
That guys is strong and MOBIL!!

268 carry from 101 club speed???!!!
Noticed that too... 1.54 smash would be an illegal driver :-) either the club speed measurement or ball speed must have been off.
Trackman max carry from 100 CS is 247, 105 CS is 263. Something off for sure
