Modern Sweden has barely any connection to its viking heritage. Swedes are more a byproduct from the culture and litterature realism of the 19th century. The only recollection of this old practice is adam of bremen which is like 12century. Vikings are dead and their ways to. No living soul in scandinavia is fluent in the rune or was brought up to be.

The other day I was praying the Gods to help me through this long last two years of tough depression, disorders and obstacles in my life. I felt like nothing had more sense. Tonight, just for pure case (or this is what I thought) I discovered Jonna and her channel. Now it's 2am and I'm sitting on my couch with my eyes closed and I SWEAR, I've never felt these deep and beautiful emotions and sensations in these last years. It's like feeling hope again, it's like life has a new perspective now. This brought tears in my eyes. Thank you so much, Jonna. With all my heart. Nancy, from Italy
Nancy, your message is really touching. If I could give you any advice it would be that the only cure for mental illness that I've found is studying philosophy and the humanities. You're kinda lucky because you dont have to look far, only in your own country's history. I honestly recommend reading Meditations - Marcus Aurelius, the former Roman emperor.Trust me, you will be free even if you are a slave. Its really one of the most profound philosophical text ever written and it will help you find a real meaning to your life. The real meaning to life is philosophy :) Best wishes from Bosnia.

Sweden killed there kings and there prinssess. And sended . Marie antoanettes children in deprevation..all for a True lie about People kingsdom , farmer killerrs.. 🛑
Pretty much, yes. We have, as all nations, our problems we need to solve, but to say that Sweden isn't a great nation anymore is simple not true and I'm so sick of that rhetoric to be honest.
I'm sorry, but great nations don't stay fallen. If history has taught us anything it is that when the common people are tired of the way their government is treating them, they rise up and fight back. Expect a civil war on your hands within the next 5 to 10 years. Cause it is in our blood as Europeans and as vikings to conquer and destroy. The real Swedes will not let Islam takeover.
In 2010 I fell in love with the Fjällen in Sweden. Tranquility, peace and beauty is what I have found in the Fjällen. From that year I have been to Sweden every summer. My most magical moment was when I got befriended with a Sami family a year later, they invited me to a night in the woods near a lake to take part of reindeer earmarking. Summer night in twilight hearing 4000 reindeer feet, sounded like thunder. Full moon glittering in the lake. A memory I will never forget. Hearing your song and seeing the scenery gave me goosbumps and a longing back to your beautifull country. My dream of coming to Sweden during wintertime is finally realised februari 2019. Same area, same friends for life.

Let me tell you a story: When I was a young child I was violently abused. I used to draw pictures of wolves, vast forests, pictures of mountains with waterfalls going into an ocean, it was my way of escaping the abuse i was being dealt at the hands of my mother. I also made up a language i called alien writing...........I did not live near an ocean, never saw a wolf, never lived near mountains with waterfalls, never saw runes, or traveled outside the USA. I was about 8 or 9. I was also obsessed with wooden boats and only wooden boats. It wouldnt be till almost 30 years later I found out I'm directly related to viking warriors in iceland, Norway. The mountains I was drawing were fjords in Norway with waterfalls, the wolves I was obsessed with were a strong part of viking heritage, the wooden boats were because of viking boats, the alien writing i made up was so close to ancient runes I had to do a double take. All this rushed back to me when I found out who I was. My life hasnt been the same. My ancestors had been with me the whole time watching over me. Reaching out to me. I cry for my people, i see us being hurt and our identity being erased, all i want is too save them, save us. I'm so passionate about our people and our lands. Our identity is what matters. My ancestors called me home to my people and my life hasnt been the same. ⚔⚔⚔ SKAL

You cannot just die anywhere. If you die in say Sweden your corpse will just be sent back to USA. For a large fee too. So just continue to live and be grateful for each new day.
This is just so beautiful. I really like the Swedish national anthem. This was the first time I actually heard it. I could listen to this hours and hours, it's so calming. Love from your neighbour land Finland♡
For some weird reason I started to cry during this video. I am native swede, it reminds me so much of the memories I've made in this wonderful and almost fairy-tale like nation of ours. I am from the northern parts of Sweden, in the northern Helsingian area. I will move to Europe due to my shite vision (better pub. transport, job opportunities etc), but I could never fathom NOT coming back to my homeland at least once per year. It's beauty is just too beatiful, from the fields of Scania to the absolutely captivating views of Lappland I will always remain Swedish in my heart and mind, I'll preserve my language wherever I go, in Budapest or Prague or wherever I shall reside, my view will FOREVER be fixated to the northern parts of Europe. Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway are all brethren, same nature and same cultural values. Let it not die for me. Should english or whichever other language replace swedish as the standard language, I will blindly refuse to speak it. Swedish is - and always will be, the tongue I express myself in, the language I think in, the language I talk, cry, laugh, love, remember
Proud Swede! Came to Canada when I was a child. Have been back to Sweden only once, in 2007. My heart never left. This song is so hauntingly beautiful, I can`t find the appropriate words.
This got me into tears as it once again reminded me of how beautiful Sweden is. Not only as a country, but as a home. Also Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland are beautiful.
I have honestly fell in love with Sweden. I will do whatever it takes when I grow up in order to live there for as long as the sun sets, the stars shine and the Northern lights enlighten the dark, but yet so majestically scrumptious sky of winter.

I try not to listen to the Swedish National Anthem too much because it takes 4 seconds for tears to fall as I immediately think of mormor och mormorfar and they have been dead for 40 years. I proudly fly the Swedish flag outside of my house every day and my friends all say ... “even though you’re an American by birth, you’re really Swedish!” 😉🇸🇪
Having been to Iceland for two weeks last year, I really want to visit the other Nordic countries now, especially Sweden 🇸🇪! Sending love from the USA 🇺🇸
I have a very small fraction of Swedish blood in me going the back to the Swedish colonists who settled around Delaware and Pennsylvania in the 1640s before William Penn and the English settlers reached the region. This song made me proud of that small, yet significant heritage I have. Thank you very much, Jonna, for that lovely song!
Yeah, I often remind Swedes in Sweden about that. There's the same amount of Swedes in the US as in Sweden. Not many from the first colonies but 1/3 of Swedes left for the US between the years 1850-1910. My grandmother who died last year at age 94 always kept contact with relatives in San Francisco. We visited them in 1990. Sweden and the US is forever linked, not just by blood but with history, Sweden the childlike history even pre-Christian. Tales of Thor and Odin. Of the desolate north and mountains and darkness to the US, the greatest civilization ever formed. It's hard to appreciate what you have until you lose it. I Believe the Western civilization is such a thing.
@@kribbodplease be aware that you are Talking in and about entirely fictional Concepts. There is no such thing as „swedish blood“. You are much closer related to all your neighbourghs in the US culturally and in every other Sense then to Sweden. Also New York lies on roughly the Same lattitude as rome, the „desolate north“ of the US has a very different climate and annual cycle from that in sweden for that reason. „Civilisation“ is Not linked to some Nordic Race Building something against all odds in the Tundra, that is a dangerous Concept. @@johanfagerstromjarlenfors the song in itself is beautiful pretty respectful imho, but it does represent a time of Swedish colonialism and imperialism that looked pretty damn bad from our current modern perspective.

Hi Nancy, I'm from Italy as well. Un abbraccio
You got this💕💛💙
Nancy, your message is really touching.

Was? Don't start with that bs.

I hope your stay will be as ever magical as your other ones:) I hope you will get a chance to see the northern lights as well!

I’m not Swedish, but I actually cried listening to this and watching the beautiful video
I cried both for the beauty of the song and for our dying european cultures
Let me tell you a story:
When I was a young child I was violently abused. ⚔⚔⚔ SKAL
I did too I swear!

We are brothers many relatives in us
Yeah, I often remind Swedes in Sweden about that.
