    Do not open this Ride1Up REVV 1 review unless you're willing to part ways with at least $1,895. This Ride1Up Revv 1 ebike review show you everything you need to know about this highly popular electric bike before you buy a moped style super73 knockoff for the coming riding season.
    I noticed many people are misspelling Ride1Up Revv 1 as Ride1Up Rev1 or rev 1 in the search bar. Interesting name and spelling choice by ride1up, but Ride1Up Rev 1 is not the correct way to write it.
    If you want to know the Ride1Up Revv 1 top speed you'll see that in this review. The Ride1Up Revv 1 Hardtail is a bit slower and less powerful than the full suspension variation of this bike, but the Ride1Up Revv 1 hard tail weighs 10 lbs less while costing less. Since this is a 52v ebike you'll get more top speed on it compared to a 48v electric bike.

    My neighbor bought the soft tail version of this bike. As a super bike rider (2 X Ducati, 1 x Yamaha R1) I was super impressed with this moped e-bike. So impressed that even though I have five e-bikes I'm thinking of adding a soft tail REVV1 to the stable.
    Like you said, I was also very very impressed with the build quality of this little thing. It really does feel and ride like a miniature of one of my motorcycles. Everything is tight and right with this bike. One can tell the engineers put a lot of thought into this bike, and the builder didn't mess it up with any of their skinflint ideas.
    Good review Matt.

    As someone with a 650cc street motorcycle, I can tell you power is not an issue riding in the sand uphill or not. Also sand is not a good way to gauge if something is good "off road". Sure it's not road but trails have different gravel and dirt and some rocks. Which handles differently than beach sand.

    Honestly I wouldn’t mind the hard tail if it wasn’t that for that extra $500 you get 5 more amp hours, full suspension, turn signals, dual crown fork, better tires and a better controller. Idk if it’s just part of the marketing strategy but honestly I don’t think it’s a bad one but it’s surprising how many differences there are between the frame types.

    I have a Revv1 and love it, but I also immediately wanted more power/speed. It's been a month or two and I think it's Sur Ron time. If you're going to spend the money on this, the Talaria XXX is wildly powerful and $3k (though that price is likely soon to increase once Luna Cycle restocks). Just my current thoughts despite my extreme appreciation of my Revv1. I will say also, my battery gave out in 1 month on my Revv1, and currently waiting on a new one. Kind of wish I would've looked a little deeper before pulling the trigger, but nevertheless love this thing.

      I am considering buying one of these for the suburban campus I am moving to. Just need a bike that can travel 10 miles or so for groceries, gym, ect. Would you recommend this or another alternative? Also hardtail or suspension? Ill be in the midwest, so that means snowy suburban roads. The fat tires seem good for that application.

    • @aaronscheuman
      @aaronscheuman Год назад +2

      @@RubiksBotES It's honestly a great bike, and hard to go wrong, especially for the purposes you described. I have the hard tail because a rear shock and a little more time riding wasn't worth $500 to me. I'm glad I didn't get the more expensive one now because I already want to sell it for a bit faster bike. I also have never run the battery to 0% and have done some long rides, so the extra battery hasn't been necessary yet. I live in the midwest but it's been summer since I got it so I can't speak to the snow yet. It handles surprisingly well on dirt and gravel, so I'm sure it'd do great for cruising around campus even with a bit of snow. If you're looking for a fairly low key bike that can get to 35+ mph, this is a great one. It'll do 10 miles easy. You can buy a little storage cage that they make for it but you'll probably have to get a little creative with where you're going to carry the groceries, depending on how many groceries you get.

    • @aaronscheuman
      @aaronscheuman Год назад

      @@bigb69ti Unfortunately, from what everyone is saying, seems likely the XXX will probably jump in price once it's back in stock. Luna Cycle is the only one I know selling it yet. I've heard people speculate it'll be closer to $3500 to $3700, but that's probably mostly guessing. Honestly, though, in comparison to an annoyingly expensive Super 73 that won't be nearly as fun, the XXX will still be a good deal. It won't be far off then from a Sur Ron or faster Talaria price-wise, though, if it jumps close to $4k. I think it just depends what kind of money you want to spend. If you don't care about going as fast as possible, get a Revv1. They're great, and inexpensive compared to Super73, and mine will do 35 mph which is still cruising.

      Which leads me to saying, if you ever have issues with your ebike with electronics or charging, it's probably a bad soldering job. I've see it dozens of times in my ebike group I'm part of. Especailly with wires soldered to the battery inside the battery boxes. Those are almost always barely soldered on. And after a couple hundred miles of bumps it jars free...

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  Год назад +2

      Nice, I have a discount code on my review of that bike, it’s pretty legit. Basically, the way it works is your battery has a certain amount of amp hours, then the controller can draw from that battery at a certain peak level of amps. An example would be a 25a 48v controller, would equate to about 1200w of maximum power the controller can pull from the battery and send to the motor. A stronger bike might have a 30 amp 48V controller for example, which would allow the controller to pull 1440w max from the battery and send it to the motor. The more amps, the controller can pull from the battery, the faster it’s going to drain the battery, so you’re gonna want a battery that has more total capacity, which is measured in amp hours , also known as “ah”. Typical ebike batteries are about 15ah and 48v. Multiply those two numbers and you get 720wh (watt hours), which essentially means if you ran your motor at 720 W for one hour it would be completely drained. Hope this helps, I should really make a video on this. It’s really a pretty simple formula and once you get it, you’ll get it.

    I think electric bikes are way overpriced they are made in China and to pay 500 bucks more for 3 Amps is ridiculous.

    • @ryanesposito7223

      It’s 500 bucks for 3 amps which is about 200 watts more power, you get a full suspension frame, 5 more amp hours of battery life, turn signals, slightly better tires
