Richard has recently been nominated for best video game soundtrack of 2022 (Guardians of the Galaxy, I think is the game), plus he did the most iconic HeadHunter Dreamcast soundtrack... but for me, this stuff, plus a few hidden gems on Sega games (Sonic R etc, but also a mellow ambient-techno track on Sega Worldwide Soccer '98) this guy was, is, and will be a freaking genius in styles. He's classically trained but sure knows how to funk down!! 94-96 EA games and 96-98 Sega games have some of the most origianl soundtracks ever! Thanks for the uploads DJ P-M!
cant forget about metropolis street racer on DC and the new ost for the saturn version of 3D blast, his track for panic puppet zone is amazing. i love it! Sega Rally 2006, Forza MS 4. Richard J. is definitely one of my favorite Video Game Artist.
Metropolis Street Racer has a wonderful soundtrack, both from Jacques and TJ Davis. I never grew up with the Dreamcast, yet those songs still ooze nostalgic magic.
“Listen my boy! We got a Dollar in fashion in place! Breaking it Down to the Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Hot Seen! If you know what I mean, hahahaha. Here we GO!”🎶
HOLD UP I JUST FOUND IT. Its from what i believe is a sampling CD called AMG Kleptomania. Im not sure about all the details, but I am 100% certain that its from there
@@Ayala2004 I was having the damnedest time trying to find this as I couldn't find it on the Coldcut Kleptomania disc but thanks to your comment I finally found it. I guess people might've gotten confused since the track is labeled as "Coldcut" on the AMG Now! CD.
Opening JSRFMP with this song as the opener to a couple years of great times and unforgettable memories was and still is impossible to beat. It's groovy, laid back yet pumps you up. It goes impeccably hard, and Richard knows his STUFF. Excellent song. RIP JSRFMP, though. You were real as F*** when you existed.
2:03 is the same sample as in Everybody Jump Around, the song Richard Jaques composed for the first game. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of the same scratching noises in the two songs as well.
A lot of late 90s electronic artists had their own pack of samples that they had access to. Idol Taxi and Deavid Soul were also use a pretty limited set of samples across their own works. The internet was still a fairly minor source for DJs at the time.
Does anyone know where the lyrics from that MC are from? Who is it? any source? Probably the most famous is this: "Now check out the wicked inspiration vibes!" The second known is: "And the junglist style." All I know is that it's from the 90s and was used mostly in the rave scene and some video game OSTs. I've been looking for it for years in vain. I only have a few short samples, but nowhere...literally NOWHERE is there a mention or source for it. I will be glad for your help.

Whenever this played on jsrf, I would just explode and kill the missions. The groove is sick too on the song.
All that scratching made me itchy

@@AnarchyApple iirc SEGA themselves bought the whole stock of Sample Packs that were available in the 90's, and bought more later until the 2000's
