    When you can get the Metal Heads, Techno Freaks, Goths , Punks, Alt Rock Crowd, and general Mainstream all on the dance floor; You know you've written a masterpiece. This track blew our collective mind in the 90's. RIP Keith Flint. You will NOT be forgotten.

      @@tjiaguinho69 amazing as they were that would have to go to Goldie. He started Drum n Bass. That said Prodigy did start Big Beat or at least made it huge and let’s be real they were in a league of their own just off the scale. Sorry I’m being a geek ha.

    A truly timeless piece of music. Hard to believe it was released in the 90's! It's not aged a day! There's not many artists who could have ever mixed these different musical styles and pulled off a good track! The Prodigy did it and also gave us this truly unique video to boot! A classic. We miss you Keith! x

    It’s testament to how good The Prodigy were that 23 years after this was released it still sounds as fresh as when it first came out. I know Liam was very much behind the actual music production of the band, but Keith was the performer - he was the one you came to see and couldn’t take your eyes off. So much energy. So intimidating.
    I can still remember how shitscared I was seeing the Firestarter music video as a kid. Was absolutely 100% certain that this raving lunatic dancing around some abandoned tunnel was staring into my soul and getting ready to kill me.
    Away from the performing side of things, seems like Keith was, by all accounts, a gentle, kind and sensitive man. It’s sad that his life ended the way it did. RIP

    • @scottcharney1091
      @scottcharney1091 5 лет назад +7

      He wasn't the *only* performer, but that's beside the point.

    • @synthesizerpatel7405
      @synthesizerpatel7405 5 лет назад +28

      Scott Charney you’re right, he wasn’t the only performer - Maxim had big presence, as can be seen in this video and there was also Leeroy Thornhill, who was a great dancer, especially for a man about 7 foot tall. All of them made contributions towards the music as well.
      But when people think of The Prodigy, the first image most of them will have is of Keith Flint staring menacingly at the viewer in the Firestarter video. He was the absolute personification of the music - intense, disturbing, unhinged. As the lyric goes - “danger illustrated”. I can’t really see how the band will continue now, which is a shame for people who never got to see them live, but Keith has left too big a gap.
