I know this is so dumb, but the way i remember "starboard" and "port" is this; You point (or aim with a pistol) to the stars with your STARboard hand, while holding your bottle of PORT in your left hand. This only works if you're right handed tho, lol.

I play this game, and reach the ending 2 times now, it's have a lot of exploit and bug still...I can put fishing spot on top of each others to reduce space that i need, they can fish in one spot on top of each others, and also i can put bed on top of each other to... also it's become lagging when there's a lot of resources without spot.. It's fun tough...need more content
My only real complaint is the captains movement looks a little stiff it's works well for the crew in my opinion but the captain I wish had better movement like in don't starve. I do understand though why it's not the best. The vanilla expanded series has fantastic art but I think facial animations was the only one with animation in it.

I just remember it by remembering when I've seen an ocean liner, which side of the ship was against the dock, which is why it's called "port".

If I had a nickel for every time I was betrayed by crabs, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, it's just weird that it happened twice.
A real easy way to remember which side port and starboard is, is to remember that port and left are spelled with the same amount of letters

No ranged weapons because you sold your pistol early on. I don’t think the game is intending you use a cannon to shoot the floating crate.
Also, I don’t think crabs can go through doors. So they probably couldn’t get to the food.
