For Mom’s 5 cup salad, I mix all the ingredients up and then gently “fold” in the mandarin oranges to keep them from breaking up. Important to really mix the sour cream in well. It is very tasty.
We live making the Watergate salad (pistachio salad) but one of my all time favorites that Mom always made is Cherry Delight. Super easy too. 20oz can cherry pie filling mixed with 8oz crushed pineapple (Drained). Stir in 14oz can Condensed milk. Add 8-10oz of mini marshmallows and 16oz of cool whip. We always add pecans, but they aren’t part of the original recipe.
I am 54 and your mom's recipe brought back SO many memories! It was called Hawaiian Salad back in the day. At least, that's what we called it in the Midwest. 😉 If you haven't tried it, give it a go - it's so good! Thanks for sharing; got some new recipes to try this year!
Hello on the Pistachio, pineapple, whipped topping ,bananas and mashmallow desert.Any other fruit would be better than bananas because they do not keep?I am thinking Peaches or fruit cocktail might work.Very nice desert but bananas don't keep very long.
Usually im not a cranberry sauce girl, but yours looked amazing! Now i want to try it, Loved how you got every sister and Mom involved to make a video. Very cool.
Great vlog . Loved seeing all the sisters . I lost one of my sisters in 2019 . She was 56 . I have 2 other sisters and a brother . I am closest with my younger sister who is 43 .
It’s nice that you cook your cranberries in orange juice. Along the same idea, my secret ingredient is to use half water and half orange liquor. Yummy!
We make that creamed corn but we don’t cook it in the crock pot. We call it corn casserole & we use canned corn, cream cheese, & a can of green chilies. U bake it in the oven until it’s heated through & add shredded cheese at the end & heat until it’s melted. U could still do it this way in the crock pot & just add ur green chilies & then add cheese at the end. I highly recommend giving this a try! It may sound strange but it’s bomb!!
Interesting to see how others make things. I have not ever added bananas to my pistachio pudding, but it looks amazing. I will have to try it this year.
6 sisters I'm so glad I found you. I loved all the recipes and am going to try. On Camille's easy mashed potatoes, I have to use a beater because of arthritis but was interested in that GRAVY! I've tried starch & Swansons chicken broth but must not have been correct mixture cause it wasn't good. Please help a girl out. I doubt anyone will see this to answer because this is an old video. Happy Thanksgiving to all...2022
My wife don't like cream of mushroom soup. So, I decided to make it 1 year with cream of chicken. It was an all around hit. 1 year I made it both ways. The 1 with the cream of chicken went before the 1 with cream of mushroom. *I personally like it made either way.
Great dishes and I got some ideas. Thank you ladies....how awesome to have so many daughters..... OMG....I have one son who is my Sweetie but so wish I could have given him a little sister...🤗. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. 🍗🥧🥂
Love fruit salad. I also love old fashioned jello molds & pistachio cottage cheese salad. My mom used to make a frozen cranberry jello salad with walnuts that was fantastic.
Love all the recipes. Another side thats a hit is Corn pudding. I like sweet cornbread. You can use 2 pkgs. for a large crowd. I like one can cream corn or regular corn. Drain. 2 eggs, milk.adjust. start with half cup to 1 cup.Add 2 cups cheese . Whatever cheese you like and you could make it jalepeno cornbread pudding. .Mix ingredients and put in pan. Cornbread is usually 20 minutes but with it moist bake longer until it browns and pulls away from the sides and not wiggly in the middlem Enjoy!
THANK YOU SO MUCH YOUNG LADY I LOVED ALL YOUR RECIPES SIMPLE AND EASY THEY LOOK DELICIOUS. OH I CAN TASTE ALL OF THEM. MUCHAS GRACIAS. HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND ENJOY ALL THE HOLIDAYS WITH YOUR FAMILY.
The one your mom showed we have done in my family as far back as I can remember. We called it Marshmallow Sh*t because nobody knew the real name!! 😂 Sometimes we leave the coconut out due to allergies. TFS with us!! 🥰
My mom didn't like coconut, so she left the coconut out of the fruit salad, which she called ambrosia. She also added chopped pecans and maraschino cherries, halved.
Great recipes. I think we'll try some this holiday season. I've recently started my own RUclips (cooking and more) channel, and I'm learning the work that goes into cooking, filming, and editing. Thanks for putting out informative and inspirational videos!
I love it!!! I especially love it that you were all in it - seeing your mom in it, well that's like the cherry on top!!!! I always love watching your videos!
We don't really do thanks giving in South Africa- I suppose some people here probably do, but it's not listed as a holiday here. These recipes make me want to change that....
Tara I love your channel! Same with Hope and Larry at Under the Median (referral by you, can’t thank you enough!) I’m about to watch your video on hyperinflation after this. I’m a little behind with work and life being crazy. I’m a huge fan of 6 Sisters as well. They taught me how to really utilize my instant pot which I gotta say paid for itself the first week I started using it.
Our family calls the pistachio pudding mixture "Green Stuff". I add pecan pieces and chopped maraschino cherries. Plus, the leftovers, if there are any, freeze beautifully!
Green bean casserole is our favorite but we don't like cream of mushroom soup, so I use another cream soup, such as cream of potato or cream of broccoli.

Quick, easy side dishes for a simple weeknight dinner. I'm not sure they would level up for a Thanksgiving holiday feast, but each to his own. Though the cranberry sauce is a keeper, and make-ahead mashed potatoes are a great time-saver. Nice to see all of you collaborating! xx
I make the best green bean casserole. I combine the beans, French friend onion rings, mushroom soup and cheese and water chestnuts sliced and cook all together. Delish.
We make enough to have it for both. Some of us like it with dinner and others insist it is dessert dish only. I don’t care as long as there is plenty so I can enjoy with the big dinner and the next day leftovers.
We eat it as a side dish with the other dishes. But it's definitely sweet. You could eat it as a dessert. But that's where the pumpkin pie comes in! :)
Thanks you y'all for sharing y'all's loving family recipes ! All 6 ,Sisters! And got finally got to seen y'all's beautiful ❤️ Mom ! I see where y'all get y'all's looks from y'all's special Mom ! Love always yalls loving family friend Melonie Fowler

I'm new to your channel and i have to say I'm hooked..Thank you all so much for your fun easy dishes.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It was great to have all of the sisters plus Mom. You are all amazing! Thanks for sharing!!
So fun to see everyone even across all the miles! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
We have always had the 5 Cup Salad and as kids thought it was only our family recipe until we found it in the Betty Crocker Cookbook.
I chop up an apple and slightly cook it in the cranberry sauce. It makes a delicious cran-apple sauce.
Sounds so good!!
I make the pistachio salad called grinch salad for christmas..but add cherries & walnuts minus banana..yum👌
Your Mom's recipe of the fruit salad - we call that 'ambrosia'. It is SO GOOD! (and it brings back memories!)
Yes, I thought the same. I call it "Ambrosia Salad."
For me too. My mom used cherries instead of oranges.
All of our family holiday meals usually involve deviled eggs. Yum! :)
Me too
Making the green beans and both of the salads yummy. Thank you for sharing have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy. 🙏❤🙏❤
Thanks Debbie. We loved that you stopped by. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you so much! You all have been a blessing to me. I love to cook. Thanks for the extra time to spend with family!💯❤
Thanks so much
Try adding some orange zest to that cranberry sauce , gives it more zing to the sauce. Yum!
I love that salad momma made. That one brings back big time memories for me.
Great ideas in returning some old time favorites to the Thanksgiving table. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Thank you Vicky! Happy Thanksgiving.
Everything looks so good! Thanks for sharing. Blessings to all. ❤️🙏
Thanks so much! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
My family does the pistachio salad a little different. We do chopped pecans instead of the bananas.
That’s how I’ve always had it too. And it’s always been called Watergate salad. It’s a favorite of mine.
Along with maraschino cherries!
@@auntbee6187 cherries for Christmas. We leave out cherries and use pastel marshmallows for Easter.
Thumbs up to the pecans. Bananas wont keep.
Never of heard of this. Can you do both pecan and bananas? Does that sound OK?
We make that creamed corn but we don’t cook it in the crock pot. We call it corn casserole & we use canned corn, cream cheese, & a can of green chilies. That basically makes it a banana pudding, either way not a bad idea
It is one of our family favorites!
Neither had I. Ours has crushed pineapple and pecans

Nice to see the Sisters!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Thank you Nan! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Great video & dishes. It was nice seeing your mom. Happy Thanksgiving to to you all.
For the green bean casserole, try using Cream of Asparagus soup instead of mushroom. It's delicious! Might be hard to find, though.
When you heat up your mashed potatoes the next day do you leave the foil on or off?
Love fruit salad. I also love old fashioned jello molds & pistachio cottage cheese salad. My mom used to make a frozen cranberry jello salad with walnuts that was fantastic.
That is awesome!
Same as my Mum made but she made with grapes and pecans or walnuts. Works well with the coloured marshmallows too!
Do you keep the potatoes covered with foil in the oven? Or uncovered?

LOL marshmallow shit!!! My grandma called it five ways salad.
lovely, I'm surprised anyone ate it.
@@angelabacker1177 when you grow up in a family full of military vets you ate S. O. S. so you knew sh*t was edible!! 😉

Canned plain cranberry for my oldest son 😁.

I made the Slow Cooker Creamed Corn and it was delicious. Will make again using 1/3 the recipe just for me, lol!
I recommend adding dried apricot to the cranberries. Adds texture and sweetness.
