- Dumaguete is a major University city in Philippines and after arriving at the Mad Monkey Hostel, I had only 90 minutes to explore the city before it turned into night.

Once I get to Borneo, where I know there are loads of cheap hostels, that’s where I’ll be staying. Unfortunately, staying in hotels is not very sociable at all and most of the time hostels are more modern and cleaner!
Philippines has been ‘interesting’ but going off the beaten track is not always the best way to go. Borneo should be better :)
Dumaguete has an immigration office you passed close by, I’d go extend your visa it will cost you £30 for another month thus giving you enough time to sort a ferry!
You cab try to extend your visa on line however there are a shed load of problems with the website! BTW Dumaguete is one of the Philippines expat hot spots!
I was only there for one night and even though it was a very very short trip out to explore, I knew that I should have stayed a little bit longer to see more :/
I’m not going to be extending as I have only a year to travel back to UK, so trying to be as quick as I can with each country :)
I told you 30 days is no where near enough time to travel the Philippines bro. Luckily though you can just extend your visa online m8 and pay by your debit card.

@@olderbackpacker haha no only by the cost of living in the UK but I fly to Thailand in roughly two weeks and staying in Pattaya for a few weeks before flying back to the Philippines.
