Thanks for sharing these; they all sound great. I like reading stories of conversion/reversion to Catholicism. Happy Gaudete Sunday. I appreciate you so much for being here !
Canada Post is on strike so I have to live vicariously through you getting book catalogues in the mail. Oh my!😂 Every time I watch your book videos, it costs me money. 😂 I’ll purchase Rosary in a Year for sure! I’m learning there’s a LOT of commentaries on my study of the Nativity of Jesus and that could be my future book purchase wishes.
I’m going to keep an eye out for these. We have a local Catholic book store but they carry a lot of weird fringe stuff. Every time I go in they try to sell me the Medjugore book.
We see that in a lot of Catholic gift shops and book stores in our travels… weird fringe stuff is a nice way to say it, lol. Jimmy Akin from Catholic Answers just did a 3 part series on Medjugore that we found to be really helpful. It's a complex situation that he explains thoroughly and well. After years of trying to make sense of it, we have a better grasp of the situation now. Still, we are sticking with the approved apparitions here.
This is a fabulous list! I especially love the museum books! Definitely asking Santa for All the Beauty in the World. I’ve been to the Met and it’s truly such a beautiful interesting place! They also have another sister museum called The Cloisters also in NYC which is another ideal place to visit especially for Catholics! Thanks so much for sharing these new books! Happy and Blessed Gaudete Sunday! 🩷 🕯️ 😇 📚
We had a beautiful Gaudete Sunday here- thank you! I (Jennifer) enjoyed All the Beauty in the World so much, and it does mention The Cloisters. It is a secular book (not Catholic)- just a heads up about that- but as an art lover, I found it very interesting. It is my dream to get to the Met someday!
That is a great list! I just got my Rosary in a Year book and I am really looking forward to learning more about the rosary. The new Word on Fire book, The Voices of Saints, is on my wish list. I already bought myself too many Christmas presents so I can't afford to buy that too but will some day. I love books about saints!
Night’s Brights Darkness by Sally Read looks interesting. I’m adding it to my ever growing book wish list. I always enjoy your thoughts on books that you’ve read or want to read. I’m reading The Christmas Book by Francis X. Weiser that you recommended a few weeks ago. So many interesting facts I never knew. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. God bless, Linda Hardesty
I'm usually the one who gives myself books. I just received the Early Church Fathers Collection from Word on Fire. I have another Word on Fire book coming this next week--Voices of the Saints: A 365-Day Journey, by Bert Ghezzi. It's a 365 day devotional with a different saint for each day. And my third book gift to myself is And You Will Find Rest: What God Does in Prayer, by Fr. Wayne Sattler, which should also come next week. There are so many good books out there! It's hard to pick just one or two (or three).
Oh #10 sounds like I need it! #1 Is on my list... my list depends on your recommendations😅 One of my students loved The Real Story: Understanding the Big Picture of the Bible by Edward Sri and gifted it to me. ❤
I've been wanting the new Blessed is She book about Mary called Home iirc. It looks beautiful! I was hoping it would go on sale since it's a tad pricy, but so far no go. Hopefully Santa will surprise me with it hehe! How's the Parochial Vicar, is he in the Christmas spirit lol?
That one does look really good! The PV has been busy helping us "decorate", checking wires on the Christmas tree, supervising Brother… these young priests work so hard!
What books are on your wish list for this Christmas?
I thank you both for the charming presentation. On my end, no books come to mind at the time. I simply thank-you for all that you share.
I want the Ignatius Press New Study Bible both Old & New Testament. I WISH that someone would put that under the tree for me!
Rosary in a Year sounds great 🙏
We're looking forward to it :)
I’m looking forward to the Rosary in a Year. I didn’t even know they have a book already for it. Awesome!
Yes- awesome!! It's great that it's available to read along with as the year goes on.
Thanks for sharing these; they all sound great. I like reading stories of conversion/reversion to Catholicism.
Happy Gaudete Sunday.
I appreciate you so much for being here !
We love how each conversion story is so unique. God truly pursues us personally! He wants our hearts
Wonderful list - I just added Restoring the Lord's Day to my wish list!

Good commentaries are always so interesting! That would be a good future buy. We'll pray for the strike to be resolved soon!

The saints are a never ending source of inspiration for us here. We look forward to doing the Rosary in a Year with you!

The art behind you is beautiful 😍 I would like to get Thr Rosary in a Year also.
We picked up that picture at our parish's religious article exchange recently, Cindy. It was a wonderful find!
Ooooh wish we got Book Catalogues here in South Africa..🇿🇦..yummy...the Rosary in a Year Prayerguide book is also on my list🤗
We do enjoy looking through them! Lol- they are dangerous for us here...

Those both sound great! We are going to read And You Will Find Rest at some point in the New Year. We will have to compare notes :)

Why we’re Catholic? By Trent Horn and Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist Unlocking the secrets of the Last Supper by Brant James Pitre
Ohh- thanks for mentioning that last one especially. We have not read it (yet)….
