It's a big time fail rope a dope by Briggs, he doesn't have stamina to defend by moving his body out way, so he basically intentionally is eating those shots, so he sees every shot is why he doesn't get caught with any shots he doesn't see, he was betting the whole time on his power and a one shot ko which is bad strategy because Vitale also got a good chin
Don't understand how Briggs could take that bad of a beating and never went down; I've never seen anybody get beat up that bad; it's an absolute miracle he survived.
Seriously the guy is a beast, remember his fight with Lennox Lewis, SB kept rising like a zombie that never dies, if a good boxer have such chin we'll say that boxer is a complete champ, that is one thing AJ lacks.

I remember this fight, Briggs showed unbelievable heart to make it to the final bell but a better ref would’ve stopped it much earlier. Compubox shows Briggs only landed 73 shots all fight, Klitschko landed 41 in just the 12th rd alone! Ian John Lewis is an appalling ref guilty of many poor performances.
Yeah, the ref should have stopped the fight and never let it go like that; the ref should have went to Briggs' corner after about the 6th round and told them that if Briggs continues to get hit like he'd been getting hit, that he was going to stop the fight; Briggs was not defending himself; he's lucky he wasn't killed in the ring.
I totally disagree. Briggs was so self-deluded, that if the ref had stopped the fight - At Any Point , Briggs would have claimed that he still.had enough to win the fight and had been cheated of a victory. He wasn't actually knocked down in the fight. The ref was right.
It looked like Klitschko wanted the fight to go the distance or perhaps didn't want to risk overcommitting and getting countered. His strikes seemed like 80% of his power at best. Still kudos for Briggs for taking all of them and remaining conscious.
It all comes down to one boxer being just a tiny fraction of a second faster than the other. Those slightly faster reflexes make all the difference. And then throw in pinpoint accuracy and insane combos. Klitschko was loading up and throwing those from beside his ear, and Briggs still couldn’t duck them. No doubt Briggs has grit, but this fight shows that all those chiseled muscles and the loud personality mean nothing in the end.

The only thing proven here is that Shannon Briggs can take a nasty beating and still stand when most would have dropped ... The cannon ran out of amo in the 2nd round and kept going so that alone is worth his props especially after the fact he was immediately hospitalized
But Briggs was totally shot, he could barely throw a punch and was extremely slow. He would never have hit Vlad, he is way too quick on his feet. Briggs moves in slow motion and his stamina is terrible.
