Hygger are knocking out some quality products now Chris and giving some of the longer standing brands a good run for their money. Certainly don’t hear many grumbles regarding products malfunctioning and TBH are not extortionately overpriced. The LED has some good useful features which would be used and not just there to show like some brands which is a bonus. Definitely more than enough light on full spectrum mode for most tanks. Love to see some green tiger bards in the tank under that light, the colour would bounce out that tank. Another great video , you smashed this out out of the park pal. Stay safe as always.👍

I’m partial to the programable! All the lights in my house are programable LED’s, bit of a tech nerd that way. The programable Hygger fits right in! Great review. Keep them coming!

I’ve got another question legit After filming my pond video I was wondering if you have to add water due to evaporation. I know you can pump it from the lowest spot back to the top and recycle but how do you add water stand there with a hose. Or does Haygger have some thing programmable 🤣🤣🤣. Both have their pros... I believe the 957 actually grows plants a little better as you can control the hours more and the intensity more.. But I must admit I like the 978 the most of their lights .. it's easy and my plants do well.

It's obviously not the best but for the price point it does extremely well. A friend is using one in a frog enclosure with live plants. Frogs and plants are thriving better than they ever have

It's very similar.. Gas/ Petro is crazy considering we have lots of our own and don't get any from Russia. Food prices are crazy and anything pet has doubled or more. Natural gas has gone up but not too bad yet. We really have to save where we can. I won't buy just for the name unless it's quality and they stand behind it
Personally I like the buttons on the cord a bit better and find that the light is so thin it's barely noticeable sitting on top of the tank. I also like that the legs are not complicated and are sturdy. Excellent light for the money. Great review! I like the background you've got on that tank also. Thanks pal... The answer is yes and no for the programmable.. the on off stays but you have to reset the clock.. not a big deal.. 20 seconds. The 24/7 you will have to reset as it thinks it's 6 am when you start it again
Hi Ryan. I have both types going.. I have some algae growing Depending on the depth of the tanks and the settings. I love the 24/7.. the progremable is also great My plants are thriving. I constantly show my tanks so you can see how they are doing I truly like these lights.
Personally I like the 24/7 ... Because of the ease of use. They both grow plants well.. the 24/7 mode you can't control the intensity.. but you can if you set it to the 8, 10 or 12... The programmable light you control everything but is a little bit harder to set

I don't have a PAR measuring device, but the plants showed a massive difference in 2 days. Unfortunately, the darn thing defaults to OFF after the power is cut. Really bad news, unfortunately. As someone who travels, that could spell total disaster for me. Returning the HG957s and looking for replacements.
I just bought this light, is the 24/7 will always turn on at 6am and off at 10:30pm? Then what are all the option for different time? Are those the time that I want to start the light? Isn't 6am-10:30pm is too many hours for the plants? That's 16.5 hours.
You can also set it for 8, 10 or 12 hours. On the 24/7 it comes on slow.... red light then slowly swings to full.. then goes to blue for 4 hours. You can start the 24/7 whenever you want.. but it will run for 16.5 hours...just remember it's not at full. It's only at full around noon
@@alexchan4037 you can also cycle through it .. you will see the light on the controller indicating what time/ light is.. you will figure it out .. pretty easy once you get used to it

Which would you recommend for a 48” non-planted tank?
For non planted? They both do great with plants but if you wanna go with a real day and night look go with the 24/7 and use that setting as well.
